Where would you like to have desert badlands?

Prev1
Here's hoping that if the badlands comes, it is in no way like Springfield Heights. I really, really, really hope there is no crafting involved with it. And if there is no crafting involved with it, I hope it fills in the area next to SH's so I don't have to craft anything to get that land.

    Agreed no crafting system.

However, you need a separate map.

    But...

    you need a separate map.

    I could....

    you need a separate map.

    Bender is great.

    you need a separate map.

In the Long term band aid solutions are just short term solutions.

Its basically a very expensive glue.

Problem: People need a higher deco limit and more land to display said decos.
The problem has been dealt with more land, but not a higher deco limit, in theory the solution could involve increasing the deco limit and adding more land.

However we've reached a point where that could cause a heckaofalot of lag, you have the monorail, those new casino items with all the shiny new animations, 100+ characters, tons (exaggerating but still) of NPCs, yet these numbers will constantly increase, with each new update or event new characters, buildings etc can be and will be introduced.

Long term solution: Separate map, allow it to share the same inventory as Springfield, with limited restriction, for example you cant put flanders house in the badlands, you dig?

I know thats not what people want to hear but it is the best solution you have that prevents psychotic amounts of lag.

Otherwise force everyone to get the latest device from the year 3000 and then yes, add all the land you want, increase the deco limit, chances are that phone will take it, however the battery will run out quick.

maybe, JUST maybe, well get 1-2 new strips of water, and the badlands will settle down at the other side of the ocean. just hoping for a higher item limit here xD i wouldnt mind another map either, but i feel itll get neglected like KL. they could prevent it with a minigame where you can win donuts at a high(er) rate (than sideshow you)

i could also imagine theyll throw a curveball at us and just give us a new dirt ground and call it a day, mybe with some new land in SH and a new currency. and while theyre at that, they could also release the other pavement options ;)

conclusion: i dont care how theyll do it, i just want it yesterday

Voted another map, as I was basically going to rehash what someonewashere already said.

Unless they can increase the deco limit, I would say Springfield/Springfield Heights is a no.

Now if they expanded Krustyland to include the Badlands, that is always an option there. It would be weird to spend tickets on non-Krustyland items, so I would HAVE to assume a new currency is in order.

I don't really like the idea of a third map to maintain, but in order to use the actual size - I would prefer it over placing an additional limit on Springfield.

Put it as an expansion with krustyland so we finally have a reason to visit KL again

Perhaps we'll get a deck limit raise. That COULD be part of why we've got no level updates in so long; they're working on a way to raise the limit.

Cos, otherwise, there's A LOT of land above AT that's never gonna get used.

Badlands would look good further inland. Maybe on the far right side of the map?

Think if it's going to be of any reasonable size then it needs to be on a separate map as we have enough complaints about the decoration limit already and raising the limit could cause issues for older devices trying to play the game, but if it is decided to create the new area then we need to be able to share fully all stuff from Springfield with the new area, this all assumes that we do get a badlands expansion and not just a few more desert type of decorations and dirt/sand flooring.

I say move Krustyland to the remaining Springfield Heights area, convert the Krustyland space to the Badlands and let us put whatever we want there.

Is an iPad Air 2 considered an "older device"? Because my husband just got one, and I get the same lag with that as I do with my Nexus 7 and my Samsung Galaxy SIII ... By which I mean, if I visit a heavily-decorated town and it is laggy on one device, that town lags the same on all of them. (Frankly, the old iPad 2 loads those towns just about as quickly as the new devices ... which is to say, not quickly at all. )

So I honestly think that adding more decorations to the limit is going to tax even the new devices. I'm still under 6,000 items in my main town, and it takes a long time to load, whether it is just to login to that town directly, or to visit it FROM a low-level town with no decos at all. :(

I think I'd prefer it if Badlands just opened up the other half of Springfield Heights as regular grass and gave us a couple of new grounds (dirt and sand) and a few different types of mountains so we can decide where we'd want to put it. I really want to make a desert area that leads to the Vegas Strip.

Don't get why anyone would vote for a separate map. The novelty would soon die off like it did with Krustyland and would end up forgotten about just like Krustyland!

If only instead of Springfield Heights we had the desert beyond the mountains. When there was first rumour about an expansion beyond the mountains I just assumed that it would come in desert format like that fan created map of Springfield that a lot of people base their towns on (including myself). How much cooler would that have been?

Hey guys, I was playing when I clicked something and this message came up. I wish I woulda screen shotted it but I didnt. I cant find how I did it or what made it pop up.

it said something along the lines of "if you want to speed up your game you can spend 5 game tokens"

and it was in the typical black box with white writing that always shows up in the middle of the screen.

anyone else ever had this? what do they mean by speed up the game? what are game tokens?

also, why isnt it letting me post this?? it keeps saying " You have waited too long to submit the form. The system has recreated the form and it can now be resubmitted. Please try again."

I copied, refreshed, and pasted and hit submit within about 2 seconds and its saying I waited too long?!?!

posting it here because it wont let me make a new thread, will barely let me post. very frustrating. whos in charge of this place? seems to be filled with bugs everywhere.....

I think they should put it with Krustyland an actually start adding things to Krustyland again.

I don't care about a new "map" - if they give us dirt & mountain features, I'll be able to make my own badlands corner wherever I prefer on the outskirts of my town.

Would prefer that to another KL or SF Heights.

I'd be very happy if the desert came to SF and we got new ground cover but no new land. But if we get a full blown badlands expansion, it has to be a new map like KL. And let's face it folks, either way grinding for new currencies and crafting are going to come with.

I don't mind some grinding, but could they at least be someone other than the same 15-20 characters?

Well in Apple terms it is an "older device" as there are 2 newer versions out there (iPad Pro, and recently announced iPad Pro 9.7). But typically the iPads have a longer life than the phone counterparts. I would say the non-"Air" versions are really more the 'older devices' meaning the original 1-4 iPads (gen 1, gen 2, etc).

The lag and the decoration limit seem to be the biggest hindrance of TSTO right now. I don't know if this is all tied to the device and it's power, but perhaps it could be tied to your internet speed. If you have like AT&T Uverse or something, the internet will be weak off the bat. I know places like Comcast are trying to test out with data limits, so that could also be a factor as well. As those heavily decorated towns will be consuming lots of data. I have an iPad Air (1) and I only see some lag on select neighbors. But then again, I barely visit as the time it takes outweigh the rewards.

Have you been playing the event? Game tokens are the currency that let you play the slots, card game or dice game. This was in the latest patch to address those that have hundreds of tokens. Basically lets you bet 5 tokens at a time instead of 1, so you can win 5 times the award.

This unlocks when you have 25 or more tokens available (but can be used as long as you have 5 available afterwards).

I'd prefer it if they added desert/badlands as 1 or more new terrains. Treat it similar to Squidport - some buildings can only be built on these new terrains. This way we can choose where we put it.
