I was really hoping the Xmas update would come Dec 1. I would rather start it early then have it run late. I've had my towns xmas lights on for 2 weeks already lol
I guess that level 60 will happen during the event like lots of other people have said, not before it.
Not that it really matters to me just yet, since I am currently at level 39 in my game and any potential grind up to level 60 is a long way off for me.
In 2013, we had 13 level updates, in 2014, we had 11 level updates and this year we've had 11 and surely the last level update of the year can't be in early November. So could we get level 60 tommorow and Christmas next Tuesday? Or could we get one later in the month?

I couldn't have been more wrong!
Not so sure, level 60 might arrive before Christmas, there are a few months yet to December!

i get the logic behind wanting a new level update and the enjoyment of "mini events", they both have flaws for example:
The second we do get lv 60, someone (maybe me but probably not) will ask how long till lv 61 either sarcastically, for fun , to troll or seriously questioning.
Mini events simply have the problem that others have stated, they have certain character requirements (therefore level requirements)
Items are removed after event ends, and the return time can be anywhere between 1 day and never. if they do return they may be bumped from Freemium to Premium.
So while lv 60 may come this year (dont want to say count on it, but hoping it comes along or with/ in between badlands update) the real question isnt when will it happen as much as when will lv 70-1 happen?
The real question is why we haven't seen a Level update. That's what I want to know. Usually it was every few weeks we would get a new one. We would even get them during major events & mini events. Not counting the original launch of March 2012 where the first content update didn't arrive until September 21st. 6 and half months later.
This is the longest we have gone since that day. It's been exactly 5 months since Level 59 was released.
What's the deal. Level updates have been the go-to update always. We are way long overdue for one. Hopefully we'll see Level 60 this week & hopefully they'll put the Level updates back in rotation along with major events, mini events & episode tie-ins. We can have all of them

It's logical to think that - initially - they had planned to set levels 59 & 60 apart so much, because of the release of the XP Collider. Because of this one item, it is possible to rack up donuts at a phenominal rate every time there is a new level update. Ergo, it would not be in EA's best interest to continue releasing monthly level updates.
But after a period of 2 months or so, even people that took full advantage of the Collider's release would have started to amass a large sum of cash again; making it a certainty that a lot of us are going to be thoroughly prepared to use the Collider for this purpose, come Level 60.
Beyond that, the only reason I can think of to wait so long (apart from removing planned level updates entirely) is that some sort of new feature is to be implemented, and it's taking a long time to get the bugs out.
They've added a great many new features recently, making the game more and more playable and enjoyable with each one. It's not unreasonable to think that they still have a few to release, and - if so - it's certainly reasonable to believe that such things would need more playtesting than the usual run-of-the-mill character/building content updates.
In fact, it could be argued that several of the aforementioned features are themselves required for subsequent content releases. Consider for a moment how the concept of clicking on a building/decoration in order to assign characters tasks (first introduced during SH??), subsequently made it possible for the same mechanism to be applied to the recycling buildings, dump, tap ball stadium, Money Mountain, World's Largest Redwood, campfire, winter event buildings, Burns' Casino, the Fire Department, etc. This feature is ubiquitous now.
The same can be said for Big Box subsequently making event-related daily challenges possible, and ... um ... probably other things??

So it's been almost half a year since anew level. I'm starting to think they are just done with level updates and are slowly killing the game off.
