I now have at least one of everything you can buy with hearts. I got the Stephen King Creepy train in the mystery box.
I mean seriously, how big do you need a rose garden. . . that I never wanted.. . . (is that how Tammy W sang it?)
So, they either have to introduce something more interesting to buy with hearts or we will have nothing but VD tress , Arches and Cherubs. (Although one of my arches is sitting AT the entrance to the Pen. Looks nice.
Yeah I'm surprised everything come so "cheap" and also how come all the buildings are available and not locked by a quest line? We definitely need a SLH type of reward in the "1500 heart"-range to keep things interesting. I do like the trees though, on a distant I can't tell the difference from the 15 donut apple tree.

We'll see how this goes. We may not have as many hearts by the end as you think. I'd estimate at least 30% of my friends towns didn't have valentines to tap on last night. When there were cards to tap, it seemed I'd usually get one or zero hearts. Overall I got less than 40 hearts last night.
Since available valentines are based on characters you have tasked (if I read the FAQ right), the total number of valentines available from one persons town in a 24 hour period is going to be the number of characters they have times the number of tasks they are sent on. So if I have 36 characters and I send them on three 4 hour and one 8 hour task in a 24 hour period, then a total of (36*4=) 144 valentines are available from my town.
I have 68 friends, and if each one can get up to three valentines from my town, that's a total of 204 valentines needed every 24 hours. So just on the surface, I'm 60 cards short for my friends every 24 hours, meaning 20 of my friends won't get valentines from me in a 24 hour period.
This tells me I need to task my characters at least five times per day just to mathematically have enough valentines for my 68 friends. But factor in the length of tasks, time of day they are tasked, the number of other friends your friends have, and the seemingly low number of hearts you get when visiting, I can easily see only getting only 50 hearts per day from my friends.
All this tells me that if i want to be a good neighbor-ino, I should send my characters on many short tasks per day to maximize the chance that cards will be available for my friends.
TL;DR - send characters on many short tasks per day to maximize the chance that cards will be available for friends.
I think that whoever programmed the buildings, at least, missed a '0' on the cost in hearts. Or maybe two 0s. Because even with the late start the hearts are pouring in and we have 4 more weeks. Probably more stuff to come but the buildings should have cost way more; heck, they cost less than lame shrubs and ponds.
On my two accounts, I only had 8 or so combined that I couldn't collect from by the end of last night. I already bought everything but the train and I'm halfway there. And that's all from yesterday as I didn't collect anything on Day 1. Unfortunately some people are having harder times, but there's not a lot to collect.
It's okay, Homer will just eat up all the extra hearts, like the Halloween treats and the (supposedly chocolate) Santa coins!
Where were you for the Xmas update? The Santa coins were used to but mystery stockings for a chance at 1-3 donuts or a reindeer. I think you need to talk to your homer and see what he did with your Santa coins you could have gotten donuts!
Hehe, Audiobrain!
I agree 100%, the train looks damn creepy so out of context to the choo-choo-choose-you card!
It´s the facial expression that creeps me out so much! Would make a good Halloween mask. And that´s exactly where I am going to put it. Wll be a nice decoration to my garden at the house of horrors.
Or maybe a creepy old outsouced toy for Nelson´s home.
There´s a lot of possibilities!
Who had one day before someone started to complain about how many hearts they're gonna have at the end of this?
Come on people I had a 25/1 odds that someone said it would be one day.
Anyone?
I bought every thing i wanted with my hearts already. Granted i dint want the train, cupid bush, and rose bush. Now there just collecting. This is only day two what do i do now?

If I understand you correctly, you're saying a character can only earn one valentine while he is doing a task? That has not been my experience. A character can continue to earn valentines from your neighbors as long as you "free him up" by accepting the last Valentine sent to him.
For instance, my town currently "opens" with Krabappel's apartment and the Springfield prison on the screen. So naturally, a lot of the "click and go" types will hit those two immediately and another nearbuy building (usually the Bowl-o-Rama). I set all of my characters on 4 hour tasks this morning and I've honesly lost track of the number of times I've collected valentines from Krabappel, Snake and Barney during that time.
Also, even if your friends don't get a heart for leaving you a Valentine, you'll still GET the Valentine. (This is similar to the Halloween event where TPing a friend's trees or egging their houses sometimes gave you a treat and sometimes didn't.)
So a more accurate way of predicting how many Valentines you might get in a day is your number of friends X 3 (assuming a perfect world where all of them can and do visit you) plus an extra one heart for each town you visit. Sometimes you'll get more hearts than that, sometimes less, but it seems to average out somewhere around one heart per visit.
At least that's been my experience in the 12 hours since people were able to visit me. LOL

Given that some people accidentally got a Level 26 update (which was quickly revoked), I suspect there will be another update in the near future involving Ralph Wiggum. And that update will likely include more ways to spend the hearts.
