It happens to a lot of people....maybe you just need a break.
This event doesn't suit everyone.....but Halloween and Christmas are coming, they might be awesome :-)
Take a break away from the game. Enjoy some other activities and other games in the meantime. Come back at a later date and you may feel different. Until then...
And I get what you're saying. More and more content doesn't feel like it belongs in the Simpson's. It's not iconic stuff.
There are literally thousand of hours of content for them to get content ideas from, and it just seems like this random selection of which you are supposed to want multiples of.
I miss level updates in that they were about the show. They had relevant buildings, characters and decorations.
These events are too long and it just feels like most of the content will go directly into storage.
I love the game. I just miss the good old days.
Make Nightmare Pile like Zombie Sandwich. All kids trick or treat at once.
Sometimes, I want to quit especially when I am out of town. It is really hard to keep up on other important stuff that I really need to do. My first event was Halloween 2013 and I didn't get all the prizes. I started in the middle of the event so it wasn't a big deal. I only bought donuts when we had a special on getting two premium prizes for somewhere around 7 dollars.
Yeah, a nice break might give the chance to remember not to expect too much from a game.
I can't guess how old you are, but I'm from a time where I'd NEVER expect to play Monopoly or something similar every single day for years. I mean come on. I think this game has served you pretty well. So don't go away mad. Just go away.
But come back.
We'll be here and get you caught up. Whenever.
"You're the most negative person I've ever seen on here. Constantly."

Damn thats my favorite line from that movie, he may not have an AWESOME acting range but he sure nailed that role, love the heck outta that movie.
As for OP, as an on again off again kinda gamer, i gotta say this:
If you enjoyed it you'll be back, a little smarter, a little wiser and well rested.
Often times a game gets old, you quit it but you find yourself coming back to it cause its too good, this is one of those games, (also maplestory, but this time i definitely quit, honest injun!)
This event is just lousy. I'm not even trying to win these pointless prizes and the ones I do get go straight into storage due to them not matching my town. This is the third or fourth major event in a row I've felt this way about. After this long, the developers have run out of content to put in the game without it being out of place. I give them all the credit in the world for lasting this long.
That's fine, I can live with that. What I can't live with is the amount of space this app takes up. I'm already running bare bones to accommodate this thing and I refuse to delete anything else for it.
It's been a hell of a ride. Level 115, never spent a single dime on donuts. Peace out
I felt this a year ago after 3 years tapping, so had a twelve month break. Came back 5 months ago full of vigour and glad I did.
Just take a break.
I gave up after a year back at the end of 2013 and focused on other things. After a 2 year break, I returned for the Casino Event in February and I think the game is better than ever!
Sure, the new content doesn't really match anything in the actual Springfield, but it's really fun to design with and make different "districts" as I call them. So far I've made a Casino Strip, a Wild West Area, a Zenith City and now I'm making my SciFi area! It's really fun and I have all these events showcased at the bottom of my Springfield, so they don't interfere with my normal area of town!
I think you should just take a small break while the SciFi event is on, and return for Halloween to see what you think!
dont go, many people have been expressing the need for a break. Know i need a bit of a break. Nows the time for a break til Halloween. Ol Gill might have some awsome deals for Black Friday deals, and of course Holiday events are some of the best events of the year.
I echo your sentiments about the developers adding content that doesnt really have much place in this game (especially this event, this stuff would be more appropriate in a Futurama game). There is so much 'proper' stuff they could add. Its a shame they did away with level updates as they were fantastic for additional buildings and characters from actual episodes.
I don't know you and I'm not your neighbour either but games are supposed to be entertaining and enjoyable, a way to waste a bit of down time so if you're not enjoying it and it has become a chore then it's time to step away from the game and find something new to waste away a few spare hours of your time, who knows maybe one day you'll come back anyway good luck with the next choice of time waster you choose and all the best in the future.

I like that the Simpson's universe allows for new stuff. That is the beauty of a great show.

If you go, good luck to ya
i dont want to hit my item limit because of junk from events :O
this event now requires a whole chunk of 'future springfield' far away from regular Springfield...that's a lot of of land needed
One thing's for sure: it's gonna be LONG
