Anyone think 1 million and 2 million respectively is a little ridiculous for these two items? Does anybody have them yet? I have about a million cash so far but come on that's crazy
I have no idea why on this earth EA would choose to make these two items so ridiculously expensive. They will be out of reach for a lot of people for many months, particularly those who have only just started the games.
I accumulated 2 million and this was due to the friends glitch which has now been nerfed in the last update.

I am pretty sure EA created these useless items to get the people that took advantage of the glitch to spend their surplus of cash. I did!!! But I think I will put them in storage as they don't enhance my town.

I just bought the escalator...I only had a surplus of cash bc of the lengths of time between update since I'm maxed out on levels

I bought both. They take 3 days to build. Left me with only 7.5 million afterward, but that money will come back over time. When they're finished I'll let you know.

Do you guys even watch the show? They are supposed to be a useless waste of money (like the monorail). I thought it was a very humorous way for players to burn through cash. At least Origin are addressing the game's shortcomings with humor, like the joke about accumulated halloween candy just disappearing at the beginning of Christmas.

They're money sinks pure and simple. A lot of folks who have played since early on have very large bankrolls. Once you have all of your land, there isn't much to spend money on.

i bought the escalator to nowhere and it's got a few hours left before it is finished building. I'm looking forward to what it will do if anything. It says that it requires a mypad so i'm assuming that there is a task?

after the christmas theme, i was collecting lots of money while waiting for the next update. the game was getting a bit dull without themes...

I think the price is kind of ridiculous especially since it doubled after the glitch was fixed.... I was one of those that got level 26 I have pictures of the original price and I have Wiggums house and Ralph and a task to build el chemstri but the building got removed from my menu before I could build ugh

    You just described Premium items.

I have no problem with the price of those items. The only reason I don't have that much money in-game right now is because I take breaks once I've caught up with the latest content and finish whatever holiday bonuses are available.

And the bigger your town gets, the easier it will be to collect 1-2 million bucks. That's why building prices are steadily climbing with each level (I think Pimento Grove was $200k). I'm sure at some point both will drop in cost (but not much). But the idea is to give people who have all of this excess cash laying around from playing everyday a way to seem like it wasn't all for naught.

I have my escalator right in front of my popsicle tower, so it looks like the people are taking the escalator to the tower and falling off right before they get to the tower. It's great!

    They are useless.
But I want them. Just like Santa's Little Helper. And all the Christmas crap.
Damn them all anyway! I want them.

At first I was a little confused as to where these items came from. Three days after the update I caught the Monorail episode. It all became clear then. The Escalator. The Popsicle Stick building. The 50'Magnifying Glass. All giant wasts of big $$$$.
And the Avatar that RSommons has. ( I have been trying to figure out that character for a while now)
