I have 5581 Film currently, I am way behind the calendar. I am just wondering if there is any way for me to catch up?
You are not way behind. As certain addicts like to point out, it may seem you're behind earlier on but then you start unlocking things (tasks, etc) that generate more event currency. Also, you get daily challenges that pay out more currency.
We're only about 3 days into a 41 day event. Chill and continue to tap. Perhaps you're a little behind per the calendar, but you're not way behind. Don't panic.
Myself, I currently have about 9,400 film and soon will be unlocking a forth trick or treater. And I'll be getting 350 film via the daily challenge shortly.
Do you have the Level 60 character who tinkers with plumbing? Send him into any house, including Bad Dream. Also his 24Hr task works I believe. Or Ms. Botz 24Hr task. You can move their buildings close to the desired animation you want and then store & replace them so they're standing right next to the thing you want to light up.
Here's a tip, don't buy craftables from the build menu. The new feature added with the update allows purchases with Obals but you won't get credit twords leveling up your Construction Yard.
Might want to avoid storing those items for awhile and be very careful to watch the new item counter if your placing things like dead trees from inventory.
Worth mentioning that while you only get film for your first 90 neighbour actions, whenever a neighbour taps in your town it generates a film for you.
This is the first event in a while where you can actually help you neighbours, so yay! I had got into the habit of only tapping towns until they stopped paying out event currency, but looks like we should all try to be community minded and visit all our neighboureenos daily. Glad to see this back.
Can't recommend this post enough.... every tap in a neighbors town helps them, so if you can manage it, make sure you go through your entire neighbor list daily... might only be 3 currency for them, but multiply that by 100 neighbors (if they are maxed and everyone visits); and that's a nice chunk of event currency every day.

Completely agree! Really wish we had static time for "next day" I just finished all my neighbours tonight, and won't be up when the 24 hr clock rolls over. So please forgive me in advance if I don't hit friends tomorrow night but in the next morning so I'm back on time track. Really sorry about this.
If a person theoretically had items on each square of their land, would a message pop up stating that monsters could not be placed in their town? If not, what happens?
I have a couple of questions I hope someone could answer.
What triggers the dual fighting a monster?
If you get this dual fighting, can you still fight another monster at the same time?
It is already stated that players should focus crafting on those items which are returning MAG points.
But I noticed that some items return different ratio of MAG points in relation to spent obols, i.e. Iron Wall costs 20 obols and returns 20 MAG points (1 MAG point per 1 obol) and Flying Bats costs 50 obols and returning 45 MAG points (0,9 MAG points per 1 obol).
So that means that priority should be those items which are returning more MAG points per obol, because we want to unlock MAG points rewards which are useful for further playing (like those unlocked jobs).
Finally, I did calculation on which items are more useful. I ordered them here by their return ratio (I use this table to determine priority for crafting). Notice that cheaper items are usually more useful.
Iron Wall: 20 Obols, 20 MAG, 1 MAG per Obol
Gargoyle Wall 20 Obols, 20 MAG, 1 MAG per Obol
Hanging Streetlamp 20 Obols, 20 MAG, 1 MAG per Obol
Flying Bats 50 Obols, 45 MAG, 0,9 MAG per Obol
Catacombs 250 Obols, 225 MAG, 0,9 MAG per Obol
Spooky Brambles 30 Obols, 25 MAG, 0,833333333 MAG per Obol
Vampire Casket 160 Obols, 90 MAG, 0,5625 MAG per Obol
Forest Cave 700 Obols, 315 MAG, 0,45 MAG per Obol
Shipwreck 1000 Obols, 450 MAG, 0,45 MAG per Obol
Pyre 60 Obols, 25 MAG, 0,416666667 MAG per Obol
Haunted Stables 480 Obols, 110 MAG, 0,229166667 MAG per Obol
Ruins 400 Obols, 90 MAG, 0,225 MAG per Obol
Forest Grove 160 Obols, 35 MAG, 0,21875 MAG per Obol
Note that I haven't found way to format this in some better way on this new forum.
I don't know if everyone realised this, when the 'trick or treat' characters tasks have been completed, you can use the Halloween bag icon in the top right corner to go straight to each one, (it will have a ! showing on it) then tap once more to go back to the building to reassign their tasks.
Thanks @nedimaz, this is great information! What you're basically saying is that you should max out each MAG Point giving craftable item in turn to get the most for your Obols?
Does anybody have the time to start creating a Maths Breakdown for the Event? We have all the information here now, so that it should be possible.
Hey guys, I'm AO (not AOF). I create and run the Event Strategy Threads.
@ nedimaz Thanks for your list of MAG per obol ratios. May I ask if you could add the level that each item unlocks please? The reason for asking is that the street lamp is joint top, but it doesn't unlock until level 9. I am currently only level 4, so it will take some time to be able to craft that item. Thanks.

Well there are several points:
1. MAG points are beneficial because they unlock new jobs earning currencies therefore it should be maxed
2. There are craftable items which earn MAG points upon crafting, and those which are not, so we already know that it is more beneficial to craft those items which are earning MAG points, and craft others later.
3. Earning rate of MAG points is not same for all items, some of them high earning rate; e.g. crafting Iron Wall earns you 1 MAG point for each obol invested, and crafting Forest Grove gives you only 0.21875 MAG points per one obol.
4. So my final point is, if you want to earn MAG points as fast as possible, you will prioritize your crafting into items with better MAG point earning rate; you'll eventually craft all of them, but it is beneficial to unlock MAG points rewards faster because some rewards themselves will let you earn more
Finally, I'll repeat the table from previous post, with all craftable items which are earning MAG points, with their earning rate (last number); also, I switched to US notation to avoid confusion
Iron Wall: 20 Obols, 20 MAG, 1 MAG per Obol
Gargoyle Wall 20 Obols, 20 MAG, 1 MAG per Obol
Hanging Streetlamp 20 Obols, 20 MAG, 1 MAG per Obol
Flying Bats 50 Obols, 45 MAG, 0.9 MAG per Obol

Forest Cave 700 Obols, 315 MAG, 0.45 MAG per Obol
Shipwreck 1000 Obols, 450 MAG, 0.45 MAG per Obol
Pyre 60 Obols, 25 MAG, 0.416666667 MAG per Obol
Haunted Stables 480 Obols, 110 MAG, 0.229166667 MAG per Obol
Ruins 400 Obols, 90 MAG, 0.225 MAG per Obol
Forest Grove 160 Obols, 35 MAG, 0.21875 MAG per Obol
Basically, if you want to earn MAG points as fast as possible, you'll use this order of crafting. Of course, at some points not all items will be available, e.g. Hanging Streetlamp will unlock later, but you can craft those items which are available to raise your level, and when Hanging Streetlamp becomes available, start crafting it.
Apologies if this has already been asked, but what is the payout of obols from the vermin? I had a maximum town full this morning after 8 hours, which I believe is 80, and I only got 5 obols, so works out around 1 obol per every 15 vermin tapped, does that should about right for everyone else?

Obols from Feral Monsters are random. It's the Film Strips that are guaranteed.
