The slowness of collecting Obols

Currently I'm at 50/100 in Level 4 of the Yard and have 140 Obols in the bank. I'm waiting until I have 300 Obols so I can level up and get the Catacombs at the same time.

I know the amount of obols for later prizes has been increased, but that doesn't help now.

I have about 15,000 film so I don't feel behind on the film front. But why do I feel behind on Obols? Do things Get Better?!

At the moment it's a very hard grind for Obols. I'm too collecting for catacombs, but only have 46 Obols.
As we progress I do believe it will improve for Obols. More kids will trick and treat for one thing.

Well, yes and no. Time will keep on ticking until we get finished with Halloween, so it'll get better in that sense, but unfortunately time is also our enemy because it continues aging us until we die. If you remember how long last month was, that's how long you have to collect coins! It's not supposed to be fast. It's a longwinded affair, much like this paragraph goes on and on adding more words. Enjoy the coins you have, and lust for more. Let your lust for more coins guide your tapping finger(s) to the promised land of tomorrow's tapping. Amen.

Ok, ok...I couldn't wait and I used donuts to get the catacombs but can you blame me? I waited the whole year to play this event and excitement got the best of me.

dont read unless you want spoiler....

greater ability to generate obols in future acts...the obol packs in future acts give a decent chunk of obol (in fact it was increased in recent patch)

Not sure if this is a massive oversight on their part or just a new way of making us buy the most recent content - whichever, crafting is looking to be nearly impossible at this point. I went ahead and picked up the island solely for the MAG points and even with that I think I'm barely bringing in 50 or so obols a day.

We're going to need to stay vocal about this if we want to see a change.

Is there any particular way for me to earn film and obols faster?

I missed a whole day due to Amazon's incompetence releasing this update a whole day later for UK kindle users like me. I am also freemium btw.

I am at around 10,000, around 3000 odd behind the calendar score for today due to the day that I missed and I am can only log in 4 times a day max iif I am able to. According to the calendar I should have got the third prize for act 1, but I don't have that yet.

You're right on target if you're about 10,000 now. You should get the third prize today (the 8th) but the value on the calendar is an end-of-day target.

I am definitely finding it really slow to pick up obols. I think they should increase the drop rate of obols from monsters to say, 1 in 5?

I am also very frustrated with the obol earn rate, at 250 obols its gonna take days to earn enough to get the catacombs!

Can you buy the catacombs with donuts, I have the task to upgrade to level 5 and get the catacombs but I am already at 70/215 on level 5 and have the catacombs available to get, I have the option to spend 63 (I think) donuts to upgrade the level but I thought that only took you to the next level, i.e. Level 6, and unlock the next level prizes, would I automatically get the catacombs if I spend the donuts required??

Yeah, trick or treating will help, plus the prizes in Act 2 involve obals in the 100s.

Glad to see I'm not the only one frustrated with this. Currently, am only crafting stuff for MAG points. So I have crafted the 8 Iron Wall, the 8 Gargoyle Walls..... and that's it. Wanted to start on the flying bats but going to wait on that and the spooky brambles since I need to get the catacombs.

And I'm at 46 of 250.... but at least I'm at 15012 films.

I'm to collecting for catacombs only a 30 I think. It's going to be an incredibly slow grind for no at least

Please, EA, increase the Obal spawn rate in the feral wolves! I slept a full 8 hours last night and only 1 feral wolf (out of a lovely horde) donated an Obal towards the cause.

This may just be my perception and not reality, but I find that I get many more Obols from lone wolves than from ones that are grouped together. Once they have congregated I almost never see them drop, but when I randomly tap one by themselves the drop rate is much higher.

Patience. There is no emergency. You're getting the coins at the proper speed. Stuff builds up and unlocks other stuff after a while and you get more help from that than you think. It all works out. Enjoy.

You still get MAG points for the bats and brambles. True, the ratio is a little less than the 1:1 you get for other items, but if you really want the bats etc in your town get them now if they will please you. Being down 10 or 20 MAG points likely won't matter a whole lot.

Funny you say that because I've found the opposite. When there's a huge pile of them I get more orbs rather than tapping them individually $:\$
