Humble suggestion/request for EA

Idk if EA is aware but Stampy and Nessy are drawn to the wood/dirt road from the western update.

Is there anyway you can apply that coding to make the Halloween related characters stick to the cobblestone. Over the years I spent maybe 100 donuts or so on Halloween characters and it would be nice if I could take them out of storage. I put them away because it just looks stupid having a zombie wandering around my Christmas area....I definitely will be eliminate buying these event specific characters unless they look good anywhere in my town. Lol

....or maybe make them, to where you can put them where you want them and they only roam in a given range like zombie sandwich? Idk? Just a thought. Thanks. :)

  • Humble? Anyways...

I don't know who thought of it first but the idea to restrict characters to certain zones has been expressed. I think something in build mode that can tether NPC to a certain area (maybe a 32x32 outline) would be awesome. Probably the same for non-NPC when they're not on a job. I don't buy seasonal characters, but I do win them. This would be a nice feature.
Here is my signature. Or maybe it's not.
  • It doesn't bother me where my characters and NPCs wander
We'll chew this planet up and spit it out!
  • I have always thought that little-used characters and NPCs are sent to areas that are underpopulated.
Curiosity killed the cat, but for a while I was a suspect.

Yeah humble. Lol idk anything about coding, so idk if that's a crazy request/suggestion.

It annoys me as it's a pain looking for seasonal characters and not even knowing where the more universally appropriate NPCS are. It's also a bit pointless having a wild west snake that's seemingly never in the desert.

And Don't Forget The Tumbleweed. Lol
  • Yeah, I find it endlessly amusing that Nessie is always in the Wild West area and the Tumbleweed could be anywhere. :D

Now that we are starting to get more specific types of roads (dirt, cobblestone, possibly something else in the future), I think it would be awesome to have NPCs stick to their appropriate areas. Even better if that includes PCs, like Kodos and Kang when they're doing something that isn't location-specific (like Drinking Hillarium or whatever).

You only have to look at the street performers on the Squidport to know it's possible. The area-selection tool shows that boundaries can be drawn, even if it's only being used for item selection and not for demarcation, they could be.

    Yes, it's possible.

    Oh that's the worst.
  • Better yet, can EA just un-attach Nessie from the Western area? I like her, but I had to store her because I got too annoyed seeing her there all the time. It's like they meant to attach her to the casinos but messed up and never bothered to fix it.

I have random wood walk ways placed around my casino area to keep her there......I have one on either side of gaming Moe's which is a big slot machine, which is where she shows up in the show, so it works out perfectly. :D
  • huh? I don't like that idea at all. I want my character all over town, why would I want them all in 1 place?

Don't increase the Item Limit? Then I don't play. Period.
  • No all of them.....just certain ones....the reasons are explained in previous posts

It should be optional. I just don't fancy zombies walking round after Halloween.

Then put them in storage I guess. Unless your talking about the zombie sandwich....

My point is its a pain chasing them round town. Setting them to certain terrain makes them easier to track down and helps enhance the ambience of events.
