Having everyone on Jobs is Heart-Choosingly-Easy - Pic Inside

I believe that statement is indeed correct.
However something I have discovered; My wife had all her characters doing tasks, yet when I visited her Springfield there were no cards at all.
I then asked her to login to her game. Her Springfield was full of valentine cards on buildings and characters. She set about collecting all the V-Cards.
I then entered her Springfield on my game and noticed that her buildings and characters had cards.
I deduce from this that friends need to collect their V-Cards from their Springfield to regenerate again.

I've accidentally gone to sleep without setting my characters working (grumble grumble grumble) and still come back to flocks of little wandering heart envelopes.

^ This right here. You have to know when to go collecting your hearts from your neighbors or else you'll end up with no cards at all. If you're looking for cards in neighbors' towns you just might have to not have everyone be ready at the same time in order to time things to when they'll have cards available.

I'm sure this is true. Every town I visit where all the people are wandering around, there are no Valentines.

I make quick collection run at same time I clear up the received cards, every 2-3 hours.

The cities that have characters walking around when you visit don't have Valentine's cards because the user hasn't been active to collect the Valentine's and regenerate the cards for the next visitor. Tasks don't matter, and here is visual evidence. (I also added this to the Valentine's Guide.)

    1. Otto & Skinner free (taskless) on my main account.

Pictures 2-6 are from visiting my main account with a second account.

    2. Picture of same city, a minute later, visited from my 2nd account. This shows the school (Skinner) with an available Valentine's Card.

    3. Picture of the School's (Skinner's) Valentine Card after it was tapped.

    4. Picture of Cleetus wandering around without a task.

    5. Picture of Cleetus' Farm with an available Valentine Card (taken seconds after picture #4).

    6. Picture of Otto's Bus with an available Valentine Card.

Pictures 7- are from my main account (Simpsons00001), collecting the Valentine's generated from my 2nd account's visit (Flanders001).

    7. Back in the main account, the task-less Cleetus now has a Valentine.

    8. Tapped Cleetus

    9. And the confirmation that this was from my other account.

    10. Here's Otto now with a Valentine:

    11. Tapped Otto

    12. And the confirmation that this was from my other account.
    13_zps3f38dcdf.png

    13. And here's Skinner, now with a Valentine.

(I got disconnected at this point, and didn't get a picture of the 3rd confirmation picture, but it wasn't really needed.)

At first I was under the impression that tasks mattered, and some initial testing backed that up. However, in the last few days it has become clear that tasks don't matter, just the activity of the user.

Thanks for doing the legwork and clarifying this, Simpsons.

This would put tremendous pressure on us to drop friends who aren't super-active on their accounts... except that it's turning out to be pretty easy to get all the hearts you need, anyway.

...Unless there's going to be some sort of heart redemption program at the end of the Valentine update.

Guys, it doesn't matter if the people is on tasks, you just have to always remove the hearts to get more. I forgot to put all my characters on tasks last night and there still were a lot of hearts this morning..

I have also made numerous tests on the randomising of collecting cards from your friends neighbours, whether you collect none, 1, 2 or 3 in each city you visit.
There is absolutely no strategy to this at all.
Collecting a v-card from a building that you visit may or may not provide a heart, it makes no difference whether the building is occupied or the character associated with that building is on a task or not. It's the luck of the draw whether you get a heart from the card or not.
However the three buildings you tap that has a card that has dropped a heart or not, your host friend will receive all three hearts from their characters or buildings that you have chosen.

Simpsons00001, could you please read my post from this morning http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/9278189.page?

With other comments in this thread, it would seem my experiences are due simply to having less active friends. But the majority of my friends are well known forum regulars who seem to be very frequent (addicted) players such as myself. So on the surface, these findings don't seem to explain my experience so far.

    Thanks!

Hi XBL-Simpsons00001 is 100% on the money with his explanations. I also have quite a few forum regulars as neighbors and I think that is exactly why it is hard for you to collect cards-it is very hard to keep up with collecting them when you have great neighbors that frequently visit-so when you or other neighbors visit there are none left to tap. I don't think that there is any other other type of wait time besides collecting the card, I have collected a card from a character and minutes later the same character has given me another card from a different neighbor. I hope this is helpful, I am no Simpsons00001, but try help out if I can! Oh, I can't remember exactly where I saw this, but you can tap cards in the towns where they disappear almost instantaneously, you just have to be super fast and will need to leave and go back into the town a couple times to get three taps. Good luck to you!!!

I had 7 valentines to collect from my Heck House this morning, and only one maybe two inside it doing a quest. I think multiple friends can click on the same building.
