Thanks, Keys! Again, this is a great honor coming from you.
I think my issues with deleting friends comes from the devastation I felt when one of my absolute favorite towns disappeared from my friends list one day way back when I first started playing the game, and I realized he/she had deleted me. I'm embarrassed to admit I was really bummed about it for awhile, ha! Ever since, I have had a hard time deleting neighbors.
Same here actually. The worst thing is that I invited most of them myself when the Halloween season started. Now it feels especially bad to drop them :-( Also - I come from generation / culture where word "friend" means something other than it tends to mean now.
To help me overcome this, I have made a policy. I
- always keep 10 slots free for new invitations
- try to have at least 10 places for towns below level 24/25. New players need some help / nice to see a town grow
- any hint of town farming (especially for level 25 towns) means immidiate move to the top of the delete list
- old friends get preference - a new friend has to be significantly better than the old one in order to be kept
- if friend has not played for a week and has average town, he/she moves to the top of the delet list.
If any of you still have room I would love to be added to your neighbors list. I'm more of a lurker than poster but it would be great to actually interact with your neighbors and get inspired I think being able to design your own city is such a huge part of the game's appeal so I just don't get why some players simply clump their buildings on top of each other. I want to look at pretty things :P
Your city, Ozmodiar9, is a very fine one. I especially like the Alcatraz idea and the "vacation islands". I'd like to steal the prison island, but there was too much work involved with my own penentriary... ;-)
I wrote a big long winded paragraph in honor of a neighbors town, but lost it when I decided to double check the spelling of his name in TSTO. I'm still not entirely iPod literate.............,,And I'm too tired to retype the whole thing again.
So short version.
Shout out to byron_k_mcki. Love your Monopoly Board themed Springfield.
Pictures! This sounds like a great idea that I wish I had thought of first. Pictures!
Urmas, thanks for the deleting tips. I agree 100% with them and will probably adapt them to make myself feel a little less guilty. Another problem I'm having is that some of my most lazy neighbors are people I know, like in real life! They're taking up valuable real estate, but deleting them will involve some careful stepping that I'm only now trying to figure out since I have a few invites sitting in my box that probably belong to some wonderful towns.
Sherryt07, I too would love to see the Monopoly Springfield if you can snag some shots of it to share!
Fritter2 - I only re-did my church the other day as I wasn't enjoying the look of it before! I have just purchased some more land at the bottom of my town and have done another housing area and am doing a park right in the middle of it! Quite like how it is looking so far! Still a work in progress though!
Your school area is very impressive too, i really like what you have done with the volleyball courts!
I also understand what you mean about feeling guilty for deleting people, but if you get your friends list up you can see if any of them are not logging in! That way if they aren't playing a lot at least then they may not notice! :P
After xmas I cut down my friends from 100 to 30, purely because I thought it would solve my crashing issues! It didn't! I only kept forum regulars, and the few towns I found really creative and nice to look around! (Yours being one of them!)
It's not mean to delete people, their friends list can easily be filled again by new neighbours!
After adding a bunch of people and visiting all the towns, spent about 12 hours yesterday and today doing a full town redesign. Still only happy with about 60% of it, but almost all of the buildings are in permenant places now, and my town has a much better flow to it.
I will admit I borrowed someone elses 'wedding area' idea next to my church, I thought that was wonderful. I still need to buy about 500 trees to fill out the rest of the landscape.
I have a town I'm really proud of and now that the snows gone ive stopped crashing. So now I can start building it how i like it again. I do need to start weeding out house farmers for sure.
Thanks for the add. Nice town!
Thank you! Like you've already heard your burns mansion is quite awesome.
Thanks! I am pretty proud of it. Be prepared to see the bottom left hand corner of it Chang quite often until I'm satisfied with it. It's bugging me that I can't quite get it the way I want it.

My neighbourhood has become again much more "classy" with your town in it ;-)
Your town hall area looks especially nice
