I was able to send two out about three hours ago. I now have three tickets, all of my people are freed up, but I can't send out anyone. It doesn't seem that jobs generate while there are already characters "flying." Do I need to wait until the two characters "land" before I can send out more?
If you have two that can go flying, send only one, and the other one on a regular money making job. That should generate 5 new travellers from your available free characters.
This has worked for me. It leaves my travelers scattered out over time but at least they are traveling. I also am staggering the tasks of others to always have people available to fly.
For what it's worth, last night after receiving the donkey, which I still haven't seen, my ticket counter went to 0 0s. This morning about 10 hours later, still it read 0 0s. So I came here to see what might be up. I restarted the game, I generally have it running in background, when it re opened I se 0 20:00 timer. Lost 10 hours possibly more of tickets. Thinking bug in timer.
I'm currently not generating any tickets. I put two people on planes just over two hours ago ad my timer showed 20 min. I left the game to do my other towns thinking to log back in in an hour or so and I'd have more tickets. Now I have no tickets and no timer.
What do you mean with "no timer"? Dosen't it start over with 20 minutes?
I mean my timer is gone. Somehow in the past 5 minutes I've received 1 ticket but there is no timer showing when the next one is coming.

I've found that when I send all available flyers, the timer disappears, but I still get them.
"oh look, some players (many of whom will have spent alot of real £££ on the game) have used the game mechanic we designed for their own benefit. This is no good, lets put a very quick stop to it and who cares what else it messes up"

Hey there neighboureeno, does it help to exit your game completely or restart your device? After I send my five on flights the timer disappears like some have said but I still get the tickets. There seem to be too many problems.
Everyone, should I change the title of this thread to something EA might notice? Like: EA fix the bloody ticket problem before we dig out our pitchforks! Any other suggestions?
Just curious, what solutions are ye trying to fix the problem? Surely ye would be better off trying to compile a list of possible solutions until one eventually works. Someone on addicts said this so it might be helpful
And for those on Kindle here’s a fix from Ydouneedtoknow for the timer restarting:
On kindle hard close kindle. Start again. Open tsto. Keep game open until first 20 min cycle completes. Stay in your Springfield. Keep it active . Do not visit krusty land. Do not visit neighbors. This fixed it permanently for me. Only have a Kindle to check it on though
I know it says Kindle but it might be a universal solution too. Also has any Android players this problem? I don't and I'm on Android so it could be a device issue not a game one.
Edit: I must have jinxed myself by posting this because I don't why but my timer was reset to 20 minutes when I returned to my town (possible due to having three flights complete while I was away?) I then followed my own advice above and waited in the game for 20 minutes (roughly 10 mins in neighbours towns too) and everything is working right now again.

So here's a question: What do you mean by "hard close"? I Googled it and came up with nothing. Is this some special thing or do you just mean turn off the device and turn it back on again?

I don't know if it's different on a Kindle but on Android I take it to mean clear all the apps that are open in the background, then turn off your device wait a minute and turn it back on.

Yes, hard close = forcibly turn off (power down) your device.

I think they just mean exit the game completely - don't have it running in the background. Best way is to go through settings, app manager and close the TSTO app or restart your device.
And I have Android on Samsung and I've had everything happen and nothing helps. It's just roulette. I cross my fingers when I go into TSTO. Haven't tried reinstalling though. Anyone do this?
IDK - Did a dev team get fired or transferred? It seems like these simple problems keep happening, like the last team lost all their notes on how to run the game smoothy, fix the inevitable conflicts and put it out there ready. It seems they don't test run, or trial their programs much. At least they're not still just programming for iOS, and using an android converter. EA is huge, and will drop dev teams or move them at their whim regardless ofcustomer convenience or experience. I hope they change this and put back everything on the 4 hour model. New players join the game are pressured into buying donuts, get frustrated because the game still only rewards the most ardent players, then leave the game. I wonder how many SF are abandoned and never got past level 20?
Have any of you guys or gals who are having problems getting tickets (or boarding passes) tried doing a clean reinstall? My iPad update went wrong so I had to do one to fix things.
1. Make sure you have a log in for the game. If you're playing anonymously this could lose you your game.
2. Pull up the app manager and swipe the game away.
3. Uninstall the game.
4. Turn off your device.
5. Wait 15 to 20 seconds.
6. Turn on your device and install a fresh copy. If you're using an Apple device DO NOT reinstall from iTunes on your computer - that copy could be corrupt.
7. When you open the game DO NOT touch the screen except to enter your age and accept the license agreement until ALL the updates have finished downloading.

I don't often complain about event mechanics but this one is really hacking me off. Last night I had the issue of the timer not working while not in the game, now I have 3 tickets but in spite of having all my characters free I can send exactly one on a flight.
My daily challenge for today (with 1025 pins as a prize which I badly need) is to send 10 Springfielders on flights, and at this rate I. An maybe complete that on Monday. Ish.
whoa. all in a row, I had a 3 minute ticket timer, then a 20 minute timer, and the instant completion of the 3rd flight task for the day just after finishing the 2nd daily task. (when I tapped a straggler from the 2nd flight group who'd completed their airport job a couple minutes after the others.)

It is really confusing. My husband's ticket timer is still going on 2 minutes. He keeps on telling me how many he's got flying... Yeah, funny funny.

Is someone at EA just trolling us now ...
