I just watched Bruce Almighty and now I'm watching Clue. The weather is kinda funky in South Texas so I think I'm going to spend the say on the sofa with the dogs. Maybe order a pizza....
I don't enjoy going to movies when the theaters are crowded. We go to weekday, mid-afternoon showings of movies with assigned seats to avoid loud children, awkward seating arrangements, and crowds.
^^^That usually works except when we saw Force Awakens. There were maybe 20 people in the theater and a guy sat next to me. It was awkward but he did smell good.
The hubby and I are both off tomorrow. I hope we can see GotG2.
I live in CA, and am an AMC stubs member, yes i pay more but i prefer paying that extra than going to the cheaper theater and paying less there.
You get less ya know?
**** carpeting with a weird pattern that makes it look straight out of an episode of Saved by The Bell, titles that are more than a month old (good if you enjoyed them and want to see them again) often old or sticky seats, etc.
It's odd but sometimes i do enjoy those things, however its often the people that annoy me, not the environment (Although this one time we had to watch this first 20 minutes of a movie where it seemed like they had placed it over a red lens, i didnt say anything cause i had already seen the movie, and i had sneaked in, after paying for a different movie of course)
As for animated movies,
Yes most animation is aimed at children, however sometimes adults are the most hardcore fans, My little Pony, Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, Star Vs. The Forces of Evil. these are just a handful of titles where the adults are the MORE hardcore obsessive fan, yeah they might be nice to their younger counterparts but they arent as willing to discuss it with them (and at least for me willing to watch said programming with them, i'm not going to watch Adventure Time with my cousins until they explain to me Ice kings history)
Wonder woman, is a movie im going to purposely miss, i felt the casting of the main character was off, and am simply not up for another disappointment.
I am a DC fan, and i hated Man of Steel, Batman VS Superman, also disappointing (although a a diehard fan of Batman, i must admit that the whole fight where Batman kicked Supermans **** got me hard, im not going to deny it, suppermans a little **** licker, also he's not really superman like ya know? Also Amy adams would have made a great Lana LAng, not so much a good lois lane)
...point is i am very let down by DC movies right now, Suicide Squad was okayish minus Jareds version of the Joker (seriously disliked it), if you could somehow combine Bales version of Batman with MArk Hamills version of the joker and Gene hackmans version of LEx Luthor along with Christopher Reeves version of superman...youd have a ****-Kicking movie for the ages.
But that wont happen. and i must deal with it, even if i cant accept it. Such is life. Also can you cut the origin stories, at this point now that its more mainstream only a fraction of people dont know their origin (unless its an obscure character).
Finally, i am looking forward to Incredibles 2 to be released in 2018, and Toy Story 4 released whenever i dont care i'll watch it even if its released 20 years from now.
I randomly picked a movie to watch last night, Keeping Up With the Joneses (2016). I was surprised Wonder woman actress is in it. Quite happy with the movie. Comedy action.
I watched McFarland(2015). I dont know anything about the movie. Turns out that it is an inspiring family friendly movie from Disney. Kelvin Costner is in it.
Just watched Marauders(2016), Bruce Willis is in it. So is the bald hulk like looking guy from Guardians of Galaxy. The show has way too many characters and subplots. Better to be a TV series than a movie. Overall not a good experience. An action drama

Screw AMC. They decimated all the Sundance Cinemas and turned them into AMC Dine-Ins. (Carmike bought Sundance a few years ago then then AMC bought Carmike.) This has meant: higher prices, worse rewards, worse food selection, worse ticketing experience, and likely worse movie selection in the long term. Everyone hates the conversion.
I watched The Space Between Us(2017). A teen love drama with a touch of sci fi. I was spaced out most of the time and had to play at a higher play rate to get through some long winded scenes.
I could not feel the chemistry between the couple. I feel uncomfortable with some parts of the storyline. The Dark Knight Detective Gordon is in it.
Listen, i am not afraid to say i went to watch a kids movie, nor am i afraid to say it was great.
However i am afraid that it may not get a sequel or if it does, i fear the quality may not be as good.
It was fairly decent, it was at base a kids movie, however the humor would be found even Juvenile even to the youngest of viewers, as such while it is a kids movie, it truly speaks to the child within ourselves who have been waiting for this darn movie for almost 20 years!
The story DOESnot follow the plot of the book.
Big issue for me, as i read every book (until somewhat recently the story continued, with the return of Professor Peepee Poopypants, name changed to Tippy Tinkletrousers, giant boogers, and a weird P.E. Teacher also alternate dimensions with an evil version : Captain Blunderpants)
For those that dont know, the Captain underpants books were written late 90s (?) and recently finished (2014-16 i think) The author also wrote the Dumb Bunnies, Super Diaper Baby, and some other less popular books. Captain U was considered highly offensive (as the guy only wore his underwear) and had juvenile humor (poop/fart jokes), it was considered part of the banned books for quite awhile.
Back to the story:
Ed Helms is a guy i hate, i also hate his voice, ever since doing Andy in the series The Office i've hated the guy (perhaps he played the character of guy i hate a bit too well... you think this is mean check out the Hulu comments for the last season, most wanted the character, and a few occasions actor, dead hopefully they were messing around)
He actually does a decent Mr. Krupp, definitely needed more hate, as Captain U. he does also somewaht well, captures the naivety, but needed something.
Kevin Hart: ugh just no, not anymore please. Listen the guy has done some funny roles, but this is one that people should have said: Will someone sit and watch this guy talk for 2 hours? will they pay to see him again to talk for 2 hours-ish?
He did an awesome role in Secret life of pets, AS a maniacal Rabbit i feel i need to emphasize this, as the voice of a fourth grader, he is very annoying. Not to mention he has very little modulation, if it was dave chappelle or Eddie murphy im sure they could have come up with a voice unique to the character, hearing Kevin Harts normal voice for the umpteenth time was not needed.
These are the only bad points id like to point out, besides that the movie gets creative with its storytelling, jokes, puns and general shenanigans.
Along with a Whoopee cushion version of the 1812 O-Fart-ure, the movie also has a song written by Weird Al yankovic, yes that "Weird Al" (i believe only the one weird Al exists)
Once again: The feverish Mad Dream of an idiot Pre-pubescent me.
It works though, if you forget the books and can stand hearing Kevin Hart for a couple hours, you'll find the movie quite enjoyable.
Final point, i've said it once and will say it again, not every movie needs a love story.
Watched Bridge of Spies. Excellent well made movie and great actings. Nice sets from the 50s. Interesting storyline inspired by true story
Yes. This was one of my favorite movies from 2015. When people think of Spielberg, they are almost reflexively drawn to his earlier films, but for me Bridge, along with Lincoln from a few years back, easily hold their own when considering Spielberg’s entire body of work.
Watched Killer Klowns from outerspace.
A horror Comedy from the 80's, cheesy? Yes.
Original? i'd like to say yes, it is moderately scary (if you fear clowns, but this kind of movie only reinforces that old stereotypical fear)
If it were to be remade or have a sequel nowadays i would expect it to be more scary with a large amount of Dark humor. All in all, goodish movie. Better than that Garbage, Garbage Pail Kids movie

I loved that film when I was a kid! I'll have to watch it again sometime
Speaking of 80s movies, I recently watched The Last American Virgin again for the first time in probably 30+ years. It's well worth watching again if you haven't seen it in ages. And I'd argue that it has more of an emotional heart than Fast Times At Ridgemont High. Also, I hadn't realized that Kimmy Robertson is in it! Seeing "Lucy" in a bikini is kinda trippy.

yeah well said.
I just watched Logan(2017) finally. I really like how this gritty superhero movie is more firmly grounded in reality with little over the top gadgets and villians. I really enjoyed it.
@juliet603 I loved Killer Klondike from Outerspace too! It may have been cheesy but it was a good side of cheesy.
I got the DVD for Logan recently. It was the first time I watched it too, and I went for the Logan Noir version. I like having an option of watching a show in black and white.

I like things in color so I watched the color version of Logan
Last night I found an old movie title with the help of John,, a horror movie I watched as a boy, The Devils Rain 1975. Movie is available in YouTube. William Shatter is in it and John Travolta made his screen debut.
The imagery in the last part haunted me forever and it is still holding good as i rewatched it. The soundtrack is eerie too. Memorable movie for me for sentimental reasons.
I kind of love black and white films, so I really liked the idea I could watch Logan that way. Also love foreign films, just finished watching two.
Tunnel (Teo-neol), a Korean film about a man that gets trapped in a tunnel collapse. It's based off a novel but when there's references to real life events, you kind of start to wonder if it actually happened.
The other movie is called Raees. It's an Indian movie and also fictional. I kind of like how some Indian movies somehow end up being partially musicals when the main characters just break out singing and dancing. I also like the sound of singing in Hindi, no idea what they are saying except with help of subtitles, but even without that, I like the way the music and singing sounds. To me it's almost like the language exists to be sung.

I watched The Autopsy of Jane Doe(2016). One of the most engaging and scary movie I have watched. Very unique experience
I watched Our Kind of Traitor(2016). The young obiwan is in it and also Thor girlfriend's professor.
Very good film, really enjoyed it.
I watched Dark City (1998) Director cut. The storyline is mind blowing! A gem not to be missed.
