The reality is Simpsons00001 needs to be allowed to come back. Can you imagine going through updates without his guidance?? I know I personally would not have kept coming back to the forum if it wasn't for his useful, up-to-date, dummy-proof guides.
Ace there was a thread where someone posted a picture of a middle finger. Simpsons00001 and H1 quoted the person who posted the photo resulting in the middle finger coming up in their post, all three of the members involved were banned sadly... Which is annoying because H1 and Simpsons were just quoting the person who posted the photo.
Of course this forum will survive.....you think this forum was built by these members? No, it has been around, it is going to be around. Heck, EA probably appreciates this forum taming down a bit, now their servers can run better.
Seriously, this is the EA forum, this is where people are going to get directed. Depending on the group that forms up around the mass exodus, well it might take a few months, but it will still be here. Funny, most of the regulars that have left (self included, though I will not totally leave) are not as long time of posters, there have been different regulars, it is cyclical and this is still not even a year old.
In my opinion, the forum will survive because it is not a user-run forum. The problem is with user-run forums is that in a lot of forums (not all) The owner of the forum ends up making someone a moderator and the moderator just goes around deleting everything because they think it is "boring" ( this has happened to me before) So basically in my opinion this forum will survive.
I think people have missed the boat a little here. This new forum that some members has started is not meant to be in competition with this one. All of them bar none want THIS one to succeed. They just wanted a place to chill out and be able to talk without the garbage. Is there anything wrong with that?
I think it will last but not in the same way. At least not unless the status quo changes. The mods need to actually "run" this forum. If they want to keep things strict, then ok but keep it that way. Don't create a forum, leave for a year, and come back arbitrarily banning people.
I now know the reasons people were banned and it's just ****. They were upset threads were deleted by big brother and things got out of hand. Some were simply quoting and did not post the original pics or statements. No warnings were given, just bans.
Cutty you are right about that, and forums like that are great but the problem is when it gets so big and gets out of control. But I hope that is not the case for the new TSTO forum.

Ditto. Like many others have said when someone posts an announcement they are leaving for whatever reason, it is the nature of forums that some leave and others join. This is different than those one offs, but conclusion remains the same.

Cutty it's all good, The whole forum thing is the last forum I was at.... Long story short some immature idiots got control of it and it turned into a melting pot of madness, I remember someone once posted a picture of his um.... How do I put this..."fecial matter" . I checked on it earlier this week and there is some screwed up stuff on it...(hacks, photos, online dating, and someone once tried to sell his old mattress on it!)
