EA: quit making characters that fly across the screen!

Replies

  • The flying across the screen isn't the problem. It shouldn't bring you to the building if you tap on the flying character.

Exactly this. I only have 1 character flying and it ticks me off ever so slightly every time I click him by accident. I go out of my way to put him on 24hr task so I can continue my 4hr cycling in peace.

I was hoping he would be able to go to the she she lounge, then I wouldn't have to deal with the flying task. No such luck. He will be on his 24 hour task permanently in my town.
  • The only reason I wanted Shary Bobbins was that I read she had a task where she could fly on her umbrella. I had to play a wheel game to get her so you can imagine my disappointment when she didn't fly across the screen but flew not very high in the one spot.

    Rant over.

This is spot on. Moving me from where I want to be on the screen to somewhere I don't want to be is more than just frustrating. It is enough to make me close the game and walk away for a while. Honestly, Rickrolling lost all all of its humor the second or third time it happened to me. This is the same. Funny the first or second time, then just annoying enough to make me want to stop playing.

I came here to create the same post. People hate this EA, yet you keep on doing it. You make no sense to me as a company, you create a product people love but then keep adding elements people hate.

If you're going to keep them coming, at least take away the feature that if you tap it by Accident, it doesn't automatically take you to the characters origins! So annoying.

I actually would not mind the flying characters at all if it weren't for this!

This is so true! I actually love the flying jobs but hate that they have hitboxes that cover half the screen and you get taken to some random place in your town if you accidentally tap them (which will inevitably happen due to the enormous hitboxes)....

Uhhhhhhhh, you can fix her real good. (Warning: no graphic content):

Place houses on left- to- right streets so the sidewalks in back of the houses are so close to the houses that the roofs cover up the sidewalk from view..... then wait for her to walk to there...... then up , up, up and away on the umbrella. Now it looks like she's flying much higher, over the roof, too high to ever be eviscerated by cannibals.

    ^ This.

This is the thing that irks me. Oh, you're trying to tap a lawyer? Let me just zip you to the other side of your town because you tapped too close to the speeding plane that flies across your screen.. BAHHH!!
  • The moment I see the plane I tap it, store it, place it, and send to 24 hours. He searches for fossils in a dig site so I placed that near my landing zone. I open the game, see that he's done his 24 hour task immediately, and send him back off on 24hrs. I rarely miss him and when I do it takes 2 seconds to store and replace the runway in my airport.
It's not the greatest but it works.
For Arnie Pie, I have the stone cutters skin for him and on that one he's not a problem.

Still, if they got rid of the flying hit boxes and instead just put the thumbs up at their buildings (the runway, the Channel 6 news building) it'd be soo much better.
  • A possible solution is a "button toggle" that deactivates the flying visuals much like the spy stuff event item they added but still gives the XP/money.
  • Seriously just make it not tappable. Everytime i tap one of the flying tasks by accident, i wanna give EA the finger. This has been complained so many times but yet nothing is done.
  • I lost many lawyers thanks to this. I'm trying to synch it to Norbert so I can get them both on 24 hour cycles, but it is too cumbersome to maintain characters on different job timers.
  • Yes hate flying objects tasks!
  • at least make the thing flying across the screen untapable or give it an odd hour job like 5 or 7 hours.
  • I'm looking forward to placing EVERYONE on fly tasks! This will make game play impossible :#

    At least, yes.

As long as they don't make it 2 (or 10) hour, because I want to petition to have 2 hour and 10 hour added to the Task Manager.

I always give out a light scream when suddenly that flying object gets in the way when I’m tapping a building or character for cash and takes me to the original far, far away place.
Even when you scroll to get them out of the way they seem to follow you.
Whenever the flying object is tasked by accident I then have to cancel the job.
