It will survive the rage of a dozen whiney 16 year olds. Granted banning anyone for quoting a middle finger is ****...and banning someone for posting it just once instead of a temporary suspension or some other smaller sanction is also ****. But it will still be fine without them. Also, they will be back with new usernames and others will step in to create updated faqs. Everyone here is replaceable other than me because I am perfect.
A few regulars who prided themselves on bashing EA's incompetence at every opportunity, who spammed the broard with threads filled with inside jokes and stupid ramblings, and who thought post counts somehow made them better than others were banned for pushing EA's limits?
Now those same people have created their own registration required before you can even view it forum where they can fellate each other while talking about how mean and unfair EA is? You sure showed them!
If they were so unhappy with this forum, why didn't they just create the other forum months ago?
I'm sure it won't be long before those same people return here with new user names while the other forum flounders and dies because they got bored.

I think it's pretty **** that the forum software, epecially in this day and age, auto quotes more than one level (i.e perpetuates nested quoting). Most people are either too lazy or deliberately annoying in not trimming their quotes while replying.

Yup, there are always a passionate few who will want to take over the FAQ and walkthrough "duties". The forum will survive. But I do agree banning is silly for just quote/replying to something - especially when the forum software is as much to blame due to it's idiotic default behavior.
All they would have had to do is "demote" them so they no longer have BB code privileges - problem solved, and would probably hurt more than banning them

Yes this forum will survive.
It will survive because there are so many positive and active members filling in to help others around here. I see, since all those "meanies" left it has been nothing but unicorns and rainbows here. I left that other forum already because of it, sorry, I forgot to make another account to hide the fact that I am returning with my tail between my legs...
I never intend to leave, I play well with all folks
My sarcasm has no limits...It is detested equally in both forums....Cheers!
Wicked cool gimmick bro!
Thanks brah!!
Wait I don't detest it, I wasn't quoting you, I got your sarcasm, it was funny, but not haha I have to reply funny, more, oh yes, right on funny, nothing to add to that sort of funny
I've been here a lot longer than the majority of people, so I've seen different people come and go. Simpsons & H1 are relatively new "regulars" in the sense. Does it suck? Of course. For all you know they are probably temp banned and not perma banned. They may be back
You guys should have seen how these boards have changed since the game was released. There was a time where they were quite dead

Yes, no matter how much banter madness there is that can easily get out of control and a distraction, there is the few who really enjoy the TSTO game and encounter it's various problems etc and are happy and willingly want to genuinely help TSTO users new and old posters alike and share their experiences with the game. I am pleased to see quite a few of these members helping out, not just in the general forum but also in the game status and FAQ boards.

Unicorns and rainbows? lol. No one wants that, but it's nice that there aren't fifty page threads of nothing but a few people making inside jokes and ramblings. Yeah it's nice to have fun on the forum, but some people let it go to their head and took over the boards. They constantly talked smack about EA (yes, some was deserved) and EA got tired of it and banned them. It's that whole keep poking the dog and eventually it will bite you cliche.
BTW, you weren't banned so you had no reason to create another user name.

I'm still around, but it's hard to spend as much time here with the new forum.
And an actively moderated forum is such a breath of fresh air!
EA's main problem is that some of us who are maxed out wanted to keep the game interesting and engaging between updates. With EA banning many of the most active participants, they have driven this activity to another forum, where they have no control. If they don't increase the pace of updates or do something to keep the game challenging and engaging (photo challenges, funny photos, etc) then this place will either die out or continually churn with nothing but new users... the blind helping the blind.
It was a big loss to this community and to EA, but they neglected this forum for too long and then ultimately torpedoed it. Maybe some day MBA students will do case studies about how much revenue EA lost by mismanaging this forum.

I for one enjoy unicorns, rainbows, EA-bashing and fel.la.tio, though not all at once. Sounds like the other forum might be the place for me.

The new forum layout is actually pretty cool. Way more advanced in terms layout/notifications etc. You get notified when you are quoted so you know which posts to go back to, you can follow different people. All in all, it's actually quite cool.
This one will survive because its where EA directs its customers. However it may not be as fun, since a lot of the regulars have left it has definitely quietened down and may run the risk of becoming 'dead' as it once was.
Also I think a lot of you are being a bit harsh to the regulars. There may be inside jokes and OT banter but they were extremely helpful; without regulars many users would not have answers to FAQ's because let's face it, EA doesn't give a damn about the problems we encounter, they just want our money.

Exactly, I've started coming on here regularly, at least 10 times a day to try and help people, and I've seen others do the same
