I visited the EA Answer HQ link and tried to post a message, the result was " an unexpected error has occurred...."
It doesn't inspire confidence when there help head quarters is not working properly.[/quote]
I concur as that happened when I went. But after I clicked the login in the upper right corner to login (using same origin account info) I wa logged in and it let me post. Since it is a completely separate board your saved login for this forum doesn't automatically log you into that board.
1. Restart the iPhone.
2. Completely close the app.
3. Delete and reinstall the app.
4. Log out, play anonymously, log back in.
5. Play on another device.

Guess it's entirely on their end. [/quot
Thanks for detailing what you tried. Welcome to the party.
I've been stuck on this harp thing for the last two days
Read on the other support forum about leaving your game on (while frozen on harp noise) for 15 minutes and your game may come back on
I left my iPhone going and sure enough it eventually let me in. It crashed a few times but now seems to be working ok
I did get caught in that constant bonus level glitch but once I reset the game again it worked fine. No guarantees but it worked for me so may work for you and hopefully this is the last I see of that problem
I let mine run for about 15 mins on the harp loop and it did nothing but freeze out and go back to my iPhone screen. I thought maybe it would work then, but no such luck.

Thanks for the info. I have seen a very very small amount of people (I think you are the fourth) say this has worked for them. I have tried this for about 20 minutes 6 different times and it didn't work for me. Worth a try for some others. One time I did get the Bart screen that said could not connect to server but when I hit retry right back to harps.
One thing I found is that when trying this for an extended amount of time I got multiple harps looping so that would lead me to believe its creating multiple session tries. Or in other words once it times out to one server, it fails over to trying another server to get the data from. The odds of this working is close to winning the lotto, maybe you should buy a ticket this week, haha
As with most apps designed to use login servers they will generally keep their last known good connection point so hopefully this one does as well and you continue working.
I will probably try this a few more times hoping for the best
Currently waiting for a live EA chat (it says approximately a 75-80 minute wait). Call me crazy, but I'm not too hopeful that anything will come of it.
Either way, I will post a C&P of whatever conversation I can drag out of them.

This is exactly what happened to me - and hey got some free donuts too! Hope you all get in soon as well!
Some people over at the EA help forum are reporting that if they leave the harp music playing anywhere from 5-20 minutes that this unfreezes the loop. Others report that this doesn't work for them. YMMV.
My audio is broken on my iPad. But I just built the Burns Mansion (not Wiggum House).
After sending Smithers on his first task the game crashed. Now when I load the game (background quit/restart/all tried) the doughnut loading screen freezes. Is this where the harp sound would happen?

Welcome to the party. Yes this is where the harp music plays when the donut freezes.

Arghh. Thanks. Buy boatloads and shop loads of doughnuts, never cheat the game system, never get a good glitch. Only game breakers. Whyyyy?
I tried the leaving it on for ages. All it did was crash. When I launched again, it got frozen at the same point.
Happening to me now! My first ever glitch (bar the Christmas crashing). Had just built El Chemistri and levelled up, then it crashed when I was scrolling and the harp freeze happens on both my iPhone 5 and my iPad 2
I was the one who posted the original fix on page 1. When I got that harp freeze, I just finished building Ralph's house. Right now I just finished building El Chemistri and I put Ralph and Wiggum to the task and exit the game. When I went back to the game, I got the harp freeze again. So I try the fix that first worked for me and after about 20 times of completely closing the game and opening it, I still wasn't able to get back in. So I try the second fix posted by just leaving the game on the harp freeze screen for a long time. I was going to leave it for up to an hour. After about 15 minutes the harp sound changed and went faster, then it slowly went back to the slow harp sound. After about 5 minutes of the slow harp sound, the sound went away and the login screen remained for about another minute. Then the screen went black but I can see my task bar and my town but it was tinted black. Then it became colour and everything working fine again. So it took about 20-25 minutes to get my town back

Here's what I've tried tried to no avail:
1. Restart the iPhone.
2. Completely close the app.
3. Delete and reinstall the app.
4. Log out, play anonymously, log back in.
5. Play on another device.

Now my app just crashes after 4 to 6 minutes of harp music. So I can no longer try this force connect method.
