Well further to my post suggesting I was gonna give it up for at least six weeks until after the event, it looks like I'll be joining the rest of you in giving it up permanently, Where's Maggie has taken a back seat also, especially as she's needed on Hip-Hop and I can't be mithered doing it inbetween event task recycles... and with Sideshow you already on the side lines, it's looking like I'm gonna be getting very close to the end of this game for me
Say it aint so!

I've stopped playing this mini game too during the event and I think I'll just go ahead and store that ugly factory and have one less annoying burden. The rocket game is still spitting out multipliers and so is the chili game, so I'll keep those around.
Make Nightmare Pile like Zombie Sandwich. All kids trick or treat at once.

That's a good point, it doesn't earn income and apart from giving me an option of a 4hr non-visual task for Maggie, it's pretty much superfluous..

I wonder if it would it work the same if you just pulled it out every 16 hours, used it and stored it again?

I didn't stop anything and was able to finish days ago. What's the bleeding problem especially since the amounts were reduced.
Maybe not a “problem”; I would probably define the situation as a minor (but unnecessary) nuisance. I find it a bit easier to concentrate on assigning the requisite characters to the event-related tasks and the rest on either 4- or 8-hour tasks depending on my schedule. Sure, I could still manage to work the Railyard stuff in, but why bother for a measly three donuts and a bunch of track pieces I don’t need?

Could you be enticed by 2 more donuts? You get 5 for finishing the railyard stuff each week. I do agree with you though, now that I stopped doing it, I wonder why I bothered for so long.

Right, my error; it’s five and not three. But as you note, the point remains essentially the same. It’s a minor bother with no particularly worthwhile payoff. The only reason I continued doing it for as long as I did was my OCD tendencies.
It might be one of those things I do occasionally now, just to pass time between events or something when I have a day off, otherwise, like Krustybrand was saying, being able to task people on 8-12hr jobs fits in a lot better with work and sleep... with 3 or 4 hr event tasks not taking to much to reassign whilst in work
I find these recent a little baffling but also amusing
If a person were to go onto a Star Wars Discussion and state that they "don't watch Star Wars as there are far better Sci-Fi movies out there." you could understand if people in the discussion wondered why they bothered commenting or may even see them as trolls.
Now I do not consider any of you trolls but it is a Rail Yard thread. I doubt that the majority of the people doing the tasks are doing them for the Donuts. I know I certainly am not. The donuts are just a nice bonus but my main reason for doing it week in week out is to get track pieces for my ever increasing Monorail.
Just a different take on the benefits of doing the railyard tasks.
^Because this isn't a fan forum for the rail yard it's a discussion thread about the rail yard. One of the discussions is about people who have ended their weekly obsession with needing to finish the rail yard each week and why they've come to that conclusion.

Anyhoo.... It's Tuesday and the event has finished so you should be able to send everyone back on Rail Yard tasks should you wish to earn those lovely track pieces and 5 extra doughnuts!!
It's called the Monorail? I'd like to have track that can go on sand and over the ocean with underwater tunnels. I'd also like a real train to place in Krustyland. We haven't had any additions to Krustyland in a long time. As far as stations go, I have 7 in my town. There was a glitch during the Monorail event that gave me two extra stations. An extra Tetanus, and an extra Mall, plus, I bought the Christmas terminal.
As far as the conflict between the city dump track making and event tasks with the main characters, if my mind is working right, and, for the most part, most of my brain cells are still in tact, I believe it's a way to drive us players insane by EA to use, and buy donuts if you don't want to be caught lagging in an event. Last week, I had stage performances going on when my Monorail track making started, and after a while I said to hell with the main characters being on stage, and put everyone over at the dump, and whichever characters I had left for the stages, that's where they stayed. It takes less than 24 hours to complete all the track and get the 5 donuts, and I still had plenty of time to get all the prizes, several hits on 3 donut bonuses, and a full supply of extra stock of event stuff I bought with tickets.

I like the "find her" mechanic so I still do WM and the free donut(s) are the icing on the.... ummm.... donut.
