Where to Focus in the game

Prev1
I started playing TSTO maybe 3 years ago - IIRC I started just before or during the THOH event where the UBO outfit for burns was the final prize - which I managed to get.

However I stopped playing for maybe 12-18 months and have just recently rejoined and I'm now trying to figure out where best to focus right now.

I'm level 80, have all the storyline quests done (finishing up pageant one atm) and all the Friend rewards etc are all up to date.

I've got around $1.5m in the bank right now, have some free space available but still plenty of land sections to open up. Bonus multiplier is at 82%

I've been looking at the various Donut-gaining methods and am unsure whether I'm best to go hard on them for a while or if I'm not quite ready for them, and better off trying to get my multiplier up further first

I still need to get the last few mansions etc for Springfield Heights which I understand raises your multiplier further? Also is it still worth doing the Monorail tasks each week for the donut reward?

Thanks in advance

  • Off Topic. Saw you online last night and just wanted to say I love Spider-Man. Don't change your avi because the new forum won't allow GIFs as profile pictures.

@Muhsterino has a lot of answers for you and if you look through the various threads on here you should find some stuff.

    My advice? Just keep grinding.
  • LOL thanks - one of those random gifs I found along the way and must've chucked it in as my avatar at the time :) Good to know it won't be able to be reused if I changed it so will have to keep it as is ;)
  • The spiderman dancing gif is around since the early days of Internet. Really evoked nostaglic memories. I need to google IIRC though, not too familiar with Internet Jargons.

I would increase the cash position if I were you. The monorail tasks are great for earning weekly donuts. Yes and get all the SH items that bring you %
  • @168sean168 IIRC = If I recall correctly. (If I recall correctly ;) )
  • Thanks for the feedback - good to know I'm on the right track :)

    And yes - IIRC = If I Remember/Recall Correctly
  • Best thing you can do now is build up your cash reserves. Buy land, buy houses, earn cash, buy more land, more houses, until you start having a significant amount saved. Then you can start KEM farming to build up donuts and use some of them to build up your xp percentage. Repeat, repeat, repeat for awhile (months). Once you get a good foothold you can start relaxing and enjoying the fun aspects like decorating, etc.
Make Nightmare Pile like Zombie Sandwich. All kids trick or treat at once.

Is there a particular method to the expansion process - build certain houses in certain numbers etc?

^ Maybe start with purple houses. They pay out every three hours. Use that cash to buy more land and place more houses. Blue houses cost more and pay every eight hours but you'll earn a lot more than with purple.

Edit: I would buy a square of land then buy new houses until it was filled. Then when I could afford it I'd buy another square of land, etc.

  • Cool, thanks - I've been opening up my SH so used a chunk of that land to drop a pile of purple & blue houses :)
  • ^That's a great way to do it :)

That would depend on your schedule, different color houses have different collection times. Try to build the color that will allow you to collect most often based on your schedule.
  • Depending on time of the week and what else is going on, I can do 4-8 hourly claims except overnight. I normally work to an 8-hour schedule unless specifically required to do otherwise or if I'm grinding a particular resource/quest
  • No one has mentioned this yet, but here's the first thing you should do: as soon as you get enough donuts, buy beach hideaways one by one and upgrade each one to the max with SH resources. That will add 100% multiplier and make cash grinding much easier.
  • I prefer white houses as I found that in work life, I could practically clear only once a day and 12 hrs is good for me. White houses are also very compact and require less land
  • Question - I just built all the remaining Mansions (classic & modern) and my multiplier hasn't changed at all...?
  • Question - I just built all the remaining Mansions (classic & modern) and my multiplier hasn't changed at all...?

It is hidden. You can only test it by working out your difference in income harvesting using certain building.
  • Question - I just built all the remaining Mansions (classic & modern) and my multiplier hasn't changed at all...?

The Springfield Heights buildings have a hidden xp multiplier so it doesn't show upon tthe conformity meter but if you do the calculations by building or purchasing a decoration then selling it you can work out how much you have.

The SH buildings have a hidden XP bonus that won't show up in the conformometer. But it's definitely there. All the buildings fully upgraded should add about 150% to your bonus :)

  • Just to add to my post have a look at this thread https://forums.ea.com/en/the-simpsons-tapped-out/discussion/97993/tips-for-new-players-other-links/p1 by Muhsterino as it has a link to tables that will help you work out how much hidden multiplier you have along with other useful information.
  • 153% hidden bonus to XP only (not cash)
Whoa, whoa, whoa – I only accept cash, bitcoin, or GameStop stock.
