  • Oh joy, I've been in this club since the 9th of February, just sent off an e-mail to EA tech support..
    I'll be keeping my eyes, fingers and toes crossed that I get the fix
  • Well....I was hit with this in July last year.....took 4 weeks until they rolled back my game and fixed it.

    I was hit with again in Nov and it took them 4 months to actually fix it the right way (actually fix my game without rolling it back).

    And today I have been hit with this bug for a third time.....and yet again reaching out to EA to fix my game for the 3rd time they broke it with this same bug!!!!!! .....but now their chat window pops up and nothing happens and no email option.

    Yikes! This makes me wonder if there exists in your game some underlying problem that the first two fixes failed to address — something that somehow makes it more probable that this bug will manifest itself.

    I don't believe so as several players on this thread have reported that they have been hit by this multiple times too.

    When the rep fixed my game for real last time (i.e. not roll back) she said she found issue on the backend
    "This issue is the result of bugged variables, and I have set all of them back to the correct state.",
    then everything magically was fixed and working again.

    It is certainly on EA's end.

    Actually the fact that a number of other users have experienced multiple instances of what seems after all to be a relatively rare bug would seem to confirm rather than disconfirm my view.

    HERE IS HOW TO PLAY YOUR GAME WHILE BROKEN BY THIS GLITCH

    First of all I wrote a post on How To Get EA To Fix Your Game HERE. But while you are following those steps in that post to have your game fixed...you can still play your broken game while fighting with.....errr.....working with EA to fix your game.

    I have been hit with this glitch 3 times...1 month first time.....4 months second time.....and currently 1 week third time (and still counting).....so I have a lot of experience playing the game with the limitations of the broken parts of the game with this glitch.

    Namely here are the biggest parts that are broken:
    • The character button broken…. in the top left will not jump to any character.
    • IRS Building is broken…. Barely any radius of clearing items when tapped, as if it back at level one. So what would take 1 tap now requires 5 or 6 additional taps to clear the same items.
    • Springfield Heights is broken…. I had 100% of all the characters unlocked but now they are not all locked.
    • Rail Yard is broken… is not working correctly. Suppose to always have available cycles of prizes to earn each day. Those are missing and simply say wait for next prize cycle that never comes.
    • Various Minigames broken....this will vary by effected game. Some minigame may still work others will only give the event currency that introduced the minigame. While others don't work at all.

    I will share the best way to play the game with some of the vital parts of the game broken. I will focus on the goal of clearing everything during a visit and reassigning everyone to a job again.

    Finding / Clearing Character Jobs
    Since you Character Button is broken and you cannot jump to any characters, you have two choices....browser your town or use the Town Hall to jump to a character. With a little strategic approach this can be surprisingly easier than it first seems.

    First scroll through your town in a methodical pattern. Personally, I start at the very bottom left corner (bottom by Ocean corner) and go across to the other side (scrolling Westward), slide up (North) a little and scroll to the right back to the ocean (scrolling Eastward), scroll up again and back to the left side, etc.... All the while tapping any building with $$ plus all characters with a yellow thumbs up to clear a task. It is surprising how you will clear 98% of all buildings and character jobs this way pretty quickly.

    Now I find that the only character completed tasks left to clear might be a few characters that were running around and just happened to run around where I was looking which scrolling left and right upward in my town.

    This is when I use the Town Hall. Go there and 98% of everyone will say "Waiting for something to do." I just scroll down the list VERY fast and when a job description of a character not cleared yet scrolls up the list is very obvious as it is always shorter or longer description than "Waiting for something to do." . I jump to the character and clear it and go back to Town Hall and get the last few remaining tasks to clear.

    IF you happen to have the Portals....this makes this go even faster and easier....put 3 portals in far corners of your town and the 4th one right next to the Employment Office and Town Hall buildings that should be right next to each other. This makes it real quick to jump back to the Town Hall to find the next few characters and then back to the Employment Office to send all characters on a job at once.

    Also....if you have a 2 part task where one of the requires most of the town, then ---- never complete the 2nd part of the task ---- so you can send 90% of your characters to the SAME place each time. This makes it really easy to clear tasks with a broken character button as all your characters are always in one place.


    Springfield Heights
    You have a choice with SH......simply wait until your game is fixed to work on SH crafting again.....or work on re-unlocking your characters again and then continue crafting as normal. There is a chance when your game is fixed, you will have to do this anyways.

    Rail Yard is broken
    You cannot craft for blueprints so you cannot earn any new tracks or the 5 bonuts prize for completing a cycle. Simply have to wait until the game is fixed. The only bright side is that if your came is fixed the real way (not rolled back) then you will be able to get a second set of tunnels. I have 4 monorail tunnels now.

    Various Minigames
    Test each minigame. Some will work just fine. Just play them as you normally would. But those that don't work or only give the event currency that spawned the minigame..... there is nothing you can do with them until your game is fixed.


    I hope this helps you during this time of pain in a what should be a simple, carefree, and fun game!

    Youre best bet is to contact EA. You shouldn't be able to store it in the first place until the current event is over

    So it took 3 days, 4 emails, 5 failed chat attempts, and 2 phone calls totaling over 2 1/2 hours......but I FINALLY got past all of the "we are looking into it"..."I have escalated it and they will get back to you"....."report it in the forums".....answers.

    I followed my own advice.....I was always polite but very firm. Since it has only been 3 days, I had to go through 4 EA CS reps but I made them roll back my game. The last guy who actually rolled my game back acknowledged this is an issue on EA's side and it is no a individual game / profile / player issue.

    Again it proves......be polite.....be firm (do NOT take the boiler plate canned answers).......be persistent...... and you will get help to roll back your game.

    So now I have been hit with this glitch 3 times (with a total of 5 months of a broken game) and have had it fixed 3 times. Two roll backs and one real fix.

  • Zoom problems with game after update 6 to 8 months ago: I used to have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S and some times the zoom would be in too far. Buildings and all images were too big. I couldn't zoom out far enough to see more of the game the way it used to be. I would have to reboot the tablet in order to reset the zoom in the game. Some times I would have to reboot 2 or 3 times before it would hold. Now I have upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 and the zoom is stuck all the time. I can't zoom out far enough to see more of the game board. Please fix the zoom in the game. Thanks.

    The game just blew out of proportion on our S7s after a recent update and the Samsung Game Tuner worked perfectly.

    Same bug for me. It looks that EA doesn't want to fix bug as it is impacting several users since a long time. I uninstall the game. That's OK, this is EA choices as company, there is competition.

  • Happened to me again today - the fifth time since October 2017 - the second time this week. I think it's time to give up on TSTO.

  • Just about at the limit of my patience now. Ever since Bart Royale ended, every time I launch the game, it requires me to download a patch (usually a half hour) and log into the game. Every. Single. Time. How many patches does the game require and how is anyone supposed to be motivated to play a game that can’t stay current?

    As far as I know, there has only been the takedown from the store and one patch. Do you play on an Apple device? If so, read this thread:

    First off,this is a users fourm. We are all players just like you. If EA help refered you here, wwhatever song and dance they gave you was a lie.

    This particular thread is for a completely different issue some people are having. And since we are just players like you, posting in multiple threads isnt going to get you anywhere either, nor will foul language. Your best (and pretty much only) good option is to contact EA
