I got it about 4-5 times it came to a point where everytime I opened the app I got it. I must say at 1st I thought it was awesome but when your tapping away for 20-25 mins it gets a bit ridiculous to the point I reinstalled app twice and was considering stop playing just because I couldn't be bothered tapping for half an hour before play. I did get about a 1000 donuts tho. Good to see it stopped although I don't believe in spending money on this game as some of you know by now but it's unfair to those who have spent cash on it.
Any glitch will be fixed over time even though it takes them forever..... Simpsons TO apparently has became one of EA main blockbuster game on iPad. So, they will fixed the bugs, gave out new contents, and adding new levels...
These what they says in their latest QE:
"Our mobile business, including handhelds, generated close to $100 million for the quarter and was up 18% over the prior year. The major portion of this revenue was driven by smartphones and tablets, which accounted for $79 million, growing 36% year-over-year. Some of this growth was due to the success of The Simpsons: Tapped Out on the iOS platform. We are actively developing Android applications for our key brands to address that growing market as well. Based on industry estimates, there are 1 billion smartphones and up to 200 million tablets being used currently. We continue to focus on this segment due to the evolution and sharp growth of the smartphone and tablet markets."
I have paid for this game, and also got some free doughnuts from glitch. I'm not complaining for those who exploit glitch, its their choice.. I couldn't care less about other people's town...
Unlocking everything makes the game boring, I have all the premium items stored in the too right corner of my town which hasn't yet been developed. Once I feel I have earnt a premium I build it into the town. The unlimitted still works for android I believe.
Yeah iv ruined loads iv games buy unlocking everything.....but the temptation is to much lol. Unless it dosnt effect other people's games then I don't care what people do. U just ruine it for yourself...personally I find a game more fun if I have the up hand.......yes I'm a bad loser
This forum.... it's either you're too young or too old either way you're completely ignorant of how sim games used to work. To spout nonsense like unlocking all the donuts makes this game boring is like saying you have never played a single sim game in the past. For * sake back then even an 8 inch floppy disk held the entire f'ing game!. Truly IAP is a brilliant marketing scheme which has taken advantage of the stupidest of the stupid, by eliminating it's predecessor to sim games which was if you wanted more content you had buy an expansion pack. Why charge folks 50-70 bucks for a whole game and 30-50 for the expansion pack, when you can charge them for practically everything.
Why the glitch made the game more fun, from my perspective, was because I could make my town look exactly how I wanted. Then I re-arranged when I wanted. I think the reason it didn't ruin the fun for me is because I play once a day, so I was never going to earn enough cash at that rate to unlock all the land and the really big ticket items.
An for those that say the glitch is unfair, I say it's just as unfair that someone has the disposable income to pay hundreds of dollars to speed up 'earning' said items.
Wrong-o! Single poster posting about a glitch that has NOT been fixed but saying its fixed. Try again.
From what I understand, the latest store update fixes the glitch. Which I find confusing as you'd think they'd then make it so you had to update the game in order to keep playing. (Otherwise people would just not update and continue using the glitch)
So then not only can they not play the game, people can't visit their towns anymore (much like when they started and ended the Christmas storyline). So their town is now completely locked out until they give up the glitch.
I just did the glitch there so definitely still works. I haven't downloaded the latest update from the app store though so I'm assuming that's why some can still do it and some can't?

Yeah, I downloaded the update and can't use the glitch now. I was gonna try to use the glitch on homer Buddhas to try and win more donuts because I figured a fix was coming.
I took advantage of the glitch but only on towns I was forced to create when I was locked out of the first game I created. I have also spent well over 300.00 on the game so I dont feel bad about it. If after thanksgiving I was not locked out of game after game I would not even have these other towns.
However I am glad it is gone. Too much of a temptation. :-)
I wonder if EA will take the time to try and ban people who exploited the glitch? I know they did in the past when people were time shifting.
If they do they will be cutting off their noses to spite their faces as even those that exploited the glitch will once again want new premium items that come out and will buy donuts like usual.

Confirmed. A second scratch-r no longer pops up when the race ends.
You had to buy mystery boxes to get Buddhas you could store in your inventory. The odds are about 1 in 200 though of getting a Buddha in a mystery box, so you would have had to spend a lot of time to save up much. If it makes you feel any better, I only managed to saved 7 Buddhas... and none contained donuts. :-/

Storing Buddhas is only half of it.... you also store Mystery Boxes and you win those much more often than Buddahs. Odd that a prize of a Mystery Box could be another Mystery Box but that is what makes this glitch so bad... not to mention getting all premium content.

You can't store donuts, so that wouldn't have worked anyway. The donuts you won from the buddha would've been buried in your neg donut count.
I used the glitch to "catch up" on the premium items I missed from before I got my iPhone. I have to admit I never, ever, ever would've spent money to buy them since I was so far behind, but now that I'm caught up I won't mind dropping twenty bucks here and there for the future premiums.
So in a way, EA will make more money off me (for one example) thanks to that glitch. And I'm sure the glitch made addicts of more than just me. It didn't ruin the experience at all. It heightened it.

I wonder if they fixed the glitch, or just masked the means of triggering it. From what I understand, the issue wasn't so much that the Scratch Card reset (although that was a glitch in its own right) it was the game not validating your donut count to make sure you could actually afford whatever it was you were trying to buy.
My guess is whatever logic they used to validate donuts didn't take negative numbers into consideration. So if you tried to buy something with donuts and the end result of your total - the cost didn't equal zero you were good to go.
But like I said earlier, given the consequences of this glitch (people bypassing the real money donut cost) I'm shocked that they haven't locked us all out until we update the game in the app store. You'd think they'd want to get this locked down as soon as possible.
No it doesn't work anymore. Just tried it and posted about my failure and now have a bunch of people being mean to me because I tried to cheat. Guess its back to never being able to get any premium items.
