  • I've received another email from EA support where they offered me a rollback, but it has been around for 45 days since this bug happend to my game. The second option was a new city teplate.

    I wrote to them that I hope the first option is just a joke after a long time since my rollback request and I have rejected both options.

    They replied that they understood my frustration, however that there is no other solution.

    I'm totally disgusted from EA and I have a great desire to stop playing this game which I've been playing for years and I love this game very much...

    I think I will give them one rollback chance, but I know that rollback will not help and the game will go wrong again...

    I don't understand how one irresponsible company can exist for so long.

    They may have done something. New reports/re-infection reports have dried up almost completely. Things have quitened down dramaticly here in the last month.

  • Good Morning. It has been weeks & I have repeatedly written to EA about this under 'Bug Fixes' as no other support title covers this particular glitch. No IRS tap, can no longer build monorail tracks, cannot tap on a character avatar to access them, etc. They simply close it out w/out a response. Any suggestions?

    If you can, call or do live chat. They take their time writing back, if they even bother

    Please find the latest response I received from EA support.

    What happened?
    The idle character button caused problems for some players in The Simpsons: Tapped Out.

    What are my options?
    We have two options for you to pick from:

    1. We can roll your game back to a previous save. You’ll lose progress and Donuts from today until the rollback date, but you’ll get 50 Donuts per week of lost data. If you have receipts, we can restore the Donuts that were bought during the rollback period. Just attach them to your case when you respond. You will also be required to remain logged out of the game across all devices for 48 hours after we confirm rollback. This final step can help prevent it from happening again.

    2. We can give you a brand-new Springfield: It won’t be the same as your current Springfield, but you’ll still have your level and can continue playing your game. If you have receipts, we can replace the Donuts you bought before the template land was applied. Just attach them to your case when you respond.

    You can find out what proof of purchase is required based on your platform here.

    We’ll also be giving you an additional 100 Donuts to get you back up and running.

    Great. What next?
    It is vitally important you logout of all devices before we proceed. Please use the following steps to ensure you are properly logged out:

    If you’re in-game:
    1 Tap on the Bart and Milhouse icon on the lower right of the screen.
    2 Tap the ID badge on the lower right of the screen.
    3 Tap the red Logout button.

    If you’re on the splash/launch screen:
    - Tap the white Logout button below your username.

    Once logged out, please confirm you have done so along with the option you’d like to go with through My Cases and responding to this case.

    Is this issue fixed?
    It’s possible that this could happen again, but we’re doing our best to prevent it.

    Although I suffer from many other problems like Tap Radius, Mini Games, Money Mountain graphic, Story Telling, etc. and the list goes on, I hope they find a fix for this permanently.

    It happened to me during the recent Heist event. I don't want to lose all the items.

    Once again I am sorry to hear about the difficulties you’ve faced with the Idle Character button issue. It’s certainly a tricky one but we’ll be continuing to help in any way we can until the eventual permanent fix is deployed.

    Good news! We’ve rolled your game back to the last healthy backup. We’ve also granted you 50 Donuts for each week of lost data. All this amounted to 250 Donuts.

    Please remain logged out of the game on all devices for the next 48 hours. This can help prevent the issue from happening again.

    We also gave you 100 extra Donuts to make up for the trouble. So in total, you’ll have 350 Donuts coming your way.

    I'm not sure how I should feel about this... I guess I'll have a better idea in 48 hours.

    No matter what, you're going to lose some stuff. Its a matter of degrees though. Without knowing a whole lot more about you and your game, I cant even begin to suggest what to do next. Keep in mind there is an event starting this week (ie more stuff to lose) so if you do the rollback, time is most definitely of the essance. If you go with the template town, not ao much time as in event time but your time putting an entire town together from scratch (they dont mention everything is in storage, do they?)

    Things been quiet? I've given up, after countless rollbacks, then getting hit a day later I've stopped playing. Maybe I should get one again if no one's been hit in the last few weeks...
  • Well could it be....a miracle?? I finally, by some fluke got in contact with a brilliant EA helper called Anthony D

    "Thanks so much for continuing to stick with us. Our apologies for the length of the core issue, but also for the somewhat bumpy ride with us so far. 

    Didn't mean to scare you with the template land. It would indeed not have been your same Springfield. I also see where we tried to roll the game back for you, but were unsuccessful in that as well. 

    At this point, your best option is definitely to go with the rollback. Currently, the most viable rollback date is on March 16 where you were still at level 939. You will lose progress and Donuts made during the period of time being rolled back, but I'm going to be granting 1000 Donuts to your account once I'm finished. On top of that, if you have receipts, I will also restore the Donuts you purchased during the rollback period. Just attach them to your case when you respond. I will also need you to remain logged out of the game across all devices for 48 hours after we confirm the rollback. This final step can help prevent it from happening again.

    Last and most important piece is that in order for this to work properly, I also need to ask that you fully log out of the game now by opening the friends menu, tapping on the
    badge button, then selecting Log Out of your EA account. Once this is done,
    please close the game. It is important that you please remain logged out of
    your game until you hear back from me with further instructions. This will help
    to ensure our ability to successfully perform these changes."

    I've left it much longer than the 48hrs and my Springfield is back up and running as of 7.53 on 30th of may. Let's see how long it lasts. The main thing is I was able to refuse the template town and they can roll back to a point where THEY can see your town was fine. Why cant all help desk people be this good???

    Here is proof of a real fix solution that actually fixed one of the times I my game was broken by the glitch HERE, but EA has apparently refused to utilize this "real fix" every again. So rolling back your game was the only real solution.

    Thank goodness they fixed the "template town" issue, we were all worried for you. Thanks for letting us know. Hopefully everything keeps going well for you!

    The new quests stop working for me just before Itchy is supposed to be unlocked. It has vannished and there is no trace of the quest. Tried restalling and putting buildings back in the box (Except the new entrence, because it is locked) and taking them out, but doesn't work. Anyone else who has had this problem and found a solution?

    EDIT: Nevermind fixed itself after a few more springfielders finnished there jobs

  • Just got off the phone with someone that seemed to know what he was talking about. He says the issue has been fixed BUT people are not rolling back far enough to get a saved game without the glitch in it... He's rolling me back to March 1st (yikes!), he thinks it should be far enough. He's giving me 800 donuts (yikes!) and I have to wait 24 hours to try. If it doesn't work, I can go back to Feb 1st.

    My multiple rollbacks haven't been far enough and while it fixes the problem temporarily, it comes back. I don't know, but I'm hopeful for the 1st time. Plus 800 donuts doesn't hurt either.

    I'll let you guys know in a couple of days if it takes...
  • If I have to go back to before I was first hit I would have to back 12 months to end of may / beginning of June of last year. That ain’t happening. I would rather do short rollbacks if ever hit again.

    Been getting this screen all day. Happened yesterday as well an app reset worked but only because it automatically logged me in. I cant get into any Springfield and its not a network issue.

    I've been getting this one too on my phone.

    However on my tablet whenever I nuke Kristy land the screen goes blank then back to my home screen

  • I'm having the same issue here - IRS range, Character button and RailYard not working, plus some login issues...
    Tried to contact EA support, but no reply and my case was closed (shame on EA support)...
    Any suggestions? Rollback or template city is completely out of question because I don't want to lose my progress!
    I'm on level 240 and I prefer stop play this game at this point.
    Any suggestions?

    Your best bet, if you want to continue playing, is to re-contact EA (preferably not via e-mail) and press for a rollback. A few users have stated that EA Help staff were able to restore at least some of the content lost as a result of the rollback process. Whether or not that happens seems to depend on a host of factors — the specific staffer you’re dealing with, how much content was lost, how well the user has documented what was lost, etc. If the rollback option is, as you state, out of the question, then you’re down to two fallback positions — continue playing with a glitched game or leave the game. Sorry if that’s not the answer you wanted to hear. Good luck.
