The new space feels so liberating. I take great pride in having come up with many space-saving designs which fit into the pattern based on the guide, but it's also refreshing to look forward to designing a bit more open-spaced in the future, as my "Guide area" is almost done, and the 600 raise off the object limit will certainly help get there faster.
Especially Praiseland could be so much more with more space in that area, and when re-designing my film studios I also realized how the restrictions from the guide which I initially welcomed as they provided a challenge are starting to feel more and more limiting creativity. The studios would be so much cooler next to an upscale residential area, with a nice Hollywood Boulevard style street for the Theater and such, not wedged into the industrial area.
For now, this is my adjusted film studio area. I don't think there are any buildings coming in this event which appear on the map, but I figured that Nickel 'N' Dime Animation and the UPA Talent Agency (will replace the parking lot) are natural fits for the area.
@EllieGuseman correct me if I'm wrong, but in regards to the SF mapping, shouldn't the squares that are directly above and directly below the "beach column/row" be considered a 3 x 4 square instead of 4 x 4? I'm trying to be super accurate with where my next layout goes. Based on your last map, there are 26 squares from top to bottom. If you start from the top, and count down, you will run into the issue where you can't put most things down on the 4th spot of column 23. Added to this, if you start from the bottom and count up, you cannot place most things on the 4th spot of column 3 (23 + 3 is 26, the total of columns going up).
Basically I'm confirming that the row called "beach", allows you 3 rows to place (with the 4th row being the real beach, and most things can't go there). And same with the water. The ocean closest to the beach can only use 3 squares for Squidport tiles (the 4th space being the waves to the beach).
In a nutshell, "row beach" can place 3x4. And "row top ocean" can place 3x4. Is this correct? Or am I completely off base here?
Well, after working on my Springfield for weeks and weeks, I have finally completed my new layout. I used the last grid area posted (this thread, page 24).
This was my 3rd time following the guide. I worked a little harder on this one. First, I literally looked up every building that was in game on google images. Surprisingly, almost every building had a screen grab from the show pictured! I tried my best to add any trees and walls so as to follow the show as well as I could. If possible, I would put a random building next to a guide building if there was one next to it on the show. Second, I tried to put the roads exactly where they should be. Of course, the upper right of the map is slanted, so it’s almost impossible to get that area right.
I am waiting to complete the zoo and discount lion safari until after the event (so as to get all items first). They are set up, but very thrown together. My SF Heights is still just a dumping ground. I need that area for buildings I want to keep out. And the top of my town is where most of my extra multipliers are. But I’m pretty satisfied. If you are a tapped out friend, feel free to check it out.
Springfield Aquarium is located right under the Springfield Convention Center at the bottom of the map. And just to mention since it hasn’t yet, the Zoo is with the Botanical Garden at the top of the map.

Thank you for mentioning this. I simply squeezed the aquarium into Marine World. Time to move things around.

Ok, thanks for replying. I think I might use mine as the Ampitheater above Honest John's Computers.

Thank you for confirming. I hope I’m not too bothersome with my questions. Your my “go to tapper” when I need assistance. ☺️
Thanks!!
