Huge Opportunity Lost -- EA Fixes Things Quickly When It Helps Them?

With the launch of the Zoo event it was obvious that placing the Butterfly Gardens gave massive amount of XP.
Here is a rundown of what happenned and how it related to Farming.....
So yesterday while watching a movie on TV I casually kept doing that.....and earned about 200 donuts. Which would have taken 40 hours of KEM farming (10 four hour rounds).
BUT THIS MORNING......EA fixed this and the Butterfly Gardens are back to normal minimal XP. It is funny how when there is glitch that is against EA, it takes less than 24 hours to recognize and release a fix.....but a glitch that hits only the player takes months to recognize and fix.
Here is a rundown of what happenned and how it related to Farming.....
- With my Bonus % plus Multiplier, I earn 96,770 XP per KEM and it currently takes around 9 KEMs to get one 3 donuts bonus. And I usually buy 63 KEMs per farming round for average of 21 donuts
- Each KEM costs $14,400 in game cash so I spend around $835,000 per KEM farming round (actually something around $626,400 after I sell the KEMs back)
- Each Butterfly Gardens gave me 48,385 XP
- 144 Butterfly Gardens cost same in game cash as 1 KEM and gave me the same average of 21 donuts farming them.
- So for the cost of 1 KEM of $14,400, I could farm the same amount as 63 KEMs ($835,000).........and do it instantly so I could do it over and over and over again while watching TV.

It feels a little satisfying to have finally gotten back for once though. I wholeheartedly agree with you that it is simply amazing how quick EA CAN react when it's not in their favor.
The roll back glitch didnt take months to "fix"
It took a year and a half!!
And its still occuring (although I only know of 2 occurrences since they "fixed" it) and they never really "fixed" it, they just rolled everyone back or gave them a template town.
Great response time for this one EA! Now fix things like this everytime! Or at least a little faster then a year and a half
to be fair fixing something this easy is... easy
pinpointing what causes donuts to go wrong or the dreaded glitch is not. there're lots of codes for those. this one was just a simple value
Agreed.
Boo-Hiss.

August 2nd Update ("4_34_MoesArk_Patch1")
@SolarDragon2012 .....are you THE Solar Dragon of SimpsonWiki.com ?
Which has been available here since the update:

They fixed it? Not everyone got that memo. My husband still has it
@4kidsandacatdog
Thats why I put the quotes around the word fixed each time I used it. Fixed as in their version of fixed. Fixed as in its as "fixed" as its gonna get. But you are correct, it should say fixed as in not fixed. They did offer rollbacks and donut compensation a few months back, and I only know of 2 reports of new glitch cases since then, so maybe fixed as in fixed, sorta?
I consider myself fortunate that I have had my game rolled back, presumably by someone who actually knew what he was doing, and haven't had a recurrence. My husband's game has been broken for months. He, unfortunately, doesn't have the ability to call often or at various times. He has managed to call at least three separate times, getting three separate individuals who flat out told him they wouldn't do anything. He's very close to quitting (I continue to persuade him otherwise).
Rumor was that a fix was in the works. Those people are probably laughing their a$$es off at us.
They've been ****'ing us about a fix for a very long time. I doubt we will ever see anything past what we already have. I think the fix is in
So the only reason for EA to make levelling up more difficult is to make it harder to get free donuts.
