Items present but not displaying

I know that EA said it would be dropping support for older operating systems but did not expect display glitches on the newer Android 8.0.0 operating system as on my Samsung S3

For example, the event campfire for spooky stories, play dough factory (Maggie head is visible for the mini event), tha entire lower mountain range and tunnels are not visible as well as several smaller item. (Yes. The top mountain range is visible.

They have not disappeared. I can select them and get a blank box. I also fired up my old tab 4 and they all displayed.

This started with the new event. I am use to the temporary disappearance of items which reappear when you scroll a little bit. These do not reappear but are physically present but invisible .

It may be self correcting when the event ends as so many EA introduced glitches have disappeared at the end of an event

At first I thought you were describing a typical “texture glitch”, but this certainly seems different. Very odd.

I have the same problem. The mountain range is missing, tons of buildings missing, some pieces of track, and other decorations. I tried putting the building in my inventory and then placing them out again, didn't work. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the game, which didn't work. When I visit friends some of their buildings are missing too. I am playing on my new Samsung Galaxy S4 tablet.

I would contact EA as that is not normal, and if a rollback is needed to fix it , the faster you get it fixed the better.

It happens on my Smsung S3. I can see everything on my samsung tab 4. I tried the options in the display setting (the default is adaptive setting with a warning that it may not work with 3rd party apps). I have used the S3 since February and this just started with the Zoo event.

I do not believe a roll back would help. This started with the event and most likely will end when the event ends. It would seem that EA is not programming and/or testing for the latest android operating system

Having the same issue with the zoo on my Samsung Galaxy tab s3. The monkey exhibit is invisible. Visible on my Pixel 2 XL. Also I couldn't see the Water Baron Burns' mansion in the middle of the zoo on my tablet. No wonder I couldn't place things there.

Might be the update but my phone is running Android 9.0 Pie. An even newer update weird

I find that many of my buildings have become invisible. For example burns casino I stored and it had the icon in storage but still invisible when place in Springfield.

Suspect color palette but can't see a link. Have to check if animation is a possibility.
Update
Tried an experiment. Turned on the animation for the last events rollercoaster, flume ride and injury 500. Animation works despite several sections in each one invisible.
That knocks out color and animation as a source.
All Krustyland pieces are visible as far as I can tell, wonder if the code was by a different team

Not blaming the victim, but over the years I’ve concluded that I would never want to play this particular game with a Samsung device. They just seem prone to display issues.

Always possible it is the device but I can see everything on my samsung tab 4.
Now, I have 30 years experience with all types of programming PC to mainframe. I have encountered many programmers who ignore standards because what they wrote works at this level of the interface. I do have stories of programming crews coming in on weekends because the undocumented feature they used was plugged on the latest release, requiring a major rewrite.

I have no idea how EA programmed the latest event but the developer's notes does state that they must declare the foreground and the background colors or the default will be used. I have no idea if they did or not

I was actually speaking in terms more general than the game’s specific behavior during the current event. All I’m really saying is that when users post here about some display-related game issue, more often than not they’re using a Samsung device.

I've had the same problem since the Zoo update. Missing buildings (they are "there" but not displaying), disappearing buildings as I scroll around, missing mountains. I've contacted EA "support" via email. First they told me that there is a problem with my Galaxy Tab S3, and I should contact Samsung. I contacted Samsung, and they assured me that there is nothing wrong with my device. So I contacted EA again and their response was "there isn't much can be done in this from our end."

There was an issue a couple years ago where the items were layering wrong. I wonder if this is a layering issue. The items are there, just under the ground layer. That issue was caused by having Monorail tracks in rivers.

I remember that now. It did not effect me at the time but i checked all my tracks anyway.

Lokking through android 8.0 ,which i believe is also called oreo, there are many causions to the developer on important changes like dont use the display function with no argumentss, do not assume that apk directories end in -1,or -2 etc. If EA ignored the developers information, then i would not expect any "fix" before the end of the event

My Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 (Android 8.0 - Oreo) started having the same display issues as Datasurgeon and Elsa when the event started. It's more of an annoyance than a show stopper for me.

Here's what I know so far:

When I read reviews on Google Play and filter on 'My Device Only', I can see that other players are experiencing the same issue, since the event update.
My screen is zooming out quite a bit further than it was capable of doing prior to the event update.
My mountain range and several buildings (including Baboon County and Shimu Stadium) are not displaying at all in my town, or when I visit my friend's towns.
My first upgrade section for Baboon County shows up just fine.
I can still collect, upgrade and move those buildings just fine.
My wife isn't having any trouble viewing the missing buildings or mountains in my town (She uses an iphone).

I'm not going to contact support or request a rollback at this point. Will wait and see what occurs after the event is finished.

Yes, I are having the same problems. I was surprised with the zoom out feature also. But it revealed the silent Maggie in the playdough factory mini event. If you are zoomed out Maggie is silent; bring it back to normal and you can hear her pacifier. On the tab 4, which has no sound and thus the new S3, I can see all the buildings, mountains, burns casino, etc.

This is most likely a programming issue on EA part since it is only seen (or unseen) on the oreo operating system. A rollback, better name would be throwback, will not solve a programming error
