Happy Hallowe’en everybody! It’s that time of year where the masks go on, spiders are welcome, and I get asked about the way I spell Hallowe’en, which can only mean one thing: it’s Tree House of Horror Event time!

I want to thank everyone for their kind words about these Strategy Threads, I’m glad they still have a role, right here, in the Tapped Out Community! It’s good to get some feedback sometimes to know I’m still doing a good job and giving you guys what you want, because that’s why I do these Strategy Threads, to help you all out. :)

So as usual, please feel free to post your hints, tips, tricks and hoodwinks to achieve completion in this event, and I’ll collate as much as I can on the front page, so check back regularly to get the latest updates!

Good luck, and happy tapping!

Important Notes
Please be aware, that for most events, after the update, the Donut Confirmation option in the game settings change, meaning you may spend donuts when you don't want to, because the option has changed and you pressed the wrong button-not something you should be penalised for. Muhsterino has provided a thread showing you how to check this. It's the first part hidden by "Spoiler": https://forums.ea.com/en/the-simpsons-tapped-out/discussion/90074/tips-for-new-players/p1?new=1
This is also a brilliant thread anyway that Muhsterino has alerted me to for this message, that I think can be equally useful for long-term players as well as the new players it's "marketed" to.

  • I’d say yes. Even though they are more straight forward, there usually is at least one good tidbit that might get overlooked. 🙂
  • You never know, the format this year may be completely different to what we’re used to?!
  • Who will figure out the best digging pattern if you stop now? :(
Whoa, whoa, whoa – I only accept cash, bitcoin, or GameStop stock.
  • It’s a lot of work for you - but I always read through; just in case. I appreciate it but it’s up to you.
  • I'll vote yes too. It's always handy to have lots of info and tips on one thread rather than dozens of threads asking the same questions and giving the same advice.

i feel the same, it’s up to you but always read through but see your point of lack of strategy lately

Hey guys, I just want to check whether we still want me to do the Strategy Thread this event? The events are typically straightforward and takes very little strategy these days, and there’s not much to talk about, but I wanted to check with all of you first.

You might have to revisit the dig site strategy from Time Traveling Toaster for the newer players. Looks like they're repurposing the mechanic for this event. ;)
  • Yes Please

I was just thinking of this, I'm currently trying to 'dig' out the old post that covered which squares meant you used the fewest number of shovels.

Hopefully we can still use this? I took a screenshot of this way back in May 2017-someone else on the forum created it but no idea who!
  • Actually use this one, saves you a two moves

    I like routine!
  • Thanks for all the support guys! Life has changed for me a lot in the last 18 months, so with the lack of strategy recently, a lack of things to put on the top of the Thread, and a feeling that I’m just including information that you can find on LP’s Threads, I was questioning whether I was needed.

I didn’t know, however, that strategic digging was involved this event, in which case I’ll definitely make a Strategy Thread this event.

Got it to 10 moves max (0 instead of 10 for spacing)

    x 3 x x 2 x
    9 x x x 0 x
    x x 1 x x x
    8 x x x x 7
    x x x 6 x x
    x 4 x x 5 x

As far as I can tell, here goes the plaudits from the Time Travelling Toaster Event.

  • Should I leave all my characters out? I put all my non-event characters on 24hr tasks. It looks like mrs Dracula doesn’t like to bite characters in task. I’ve also noticed she like NPC characters too
  • Put everybody on four hour jobs, which typically chimes well with the Event Tasks.

  • I don't mind if you kill it, but seems others do so i guess you'll be staying busy.

Long threads that get filled up with comments and questions make it difficult to find actual hints. I prefer a thread title that says TIP: do this thing, and a description of the thing in the first post.

However, If your thread had all the tips for the event numbered, in the first post, that would help people like me. Finding stuff is getting harder every day! Lol
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!
  • Do you get pick axes from somewhere, other than sending the set characters to the Holy Forge?
There was chance to buy them for donuts at one point when I started the event, but that option has disappeared from my game.
  • No. ;);) (untappable vampiresses may require strategy, or may not: discuss)
