The act of demanding a refund on a character that was solely available through a cash purchase (ultimately saying this is the only way this character should be available) is bad for the game because then you are defending this awful business practice. I knew they would be available later and I’m playing the long game to get them for “free”
Sven Golly was not a character that had ever been available before, for cash or donuts.
The first time he became available was via cash with donuts, and for a limited time.
There was no indication that he would again, if ever, be available for cash or donuts. Anyone who says they “knew” he’d be available again is either lying, delusional or works for EA.
Therefore, EA created a reasonable expectation in tne mind of consumers that if they wanted the character, they’d have to buy it then and there. Offering it again via donuts is misleading tne original buyers and sharp practice.
How long before EA offers Fairy Kang, for which they charged cash, for donuts?
Based on their actions, you’d have to be a real mug to buy the Donut Factory for cash.
(To the person who said they were sick of this thread - then why open it? That’s like saying you don’t like the way something tastes but continuing to eat it. Unreal.)

This latest transgression of EA actually makes me happy because I never pay for donuts but this is making me hope that the things I don't get by paying will still come in boxes!
From the Google Play Refund Policy: Digital content. Under the law, you have an automatic statutory right of withdrawal from contracts for purchases of digital content, such as apps, games, in-app items, or other media like movies or music. The same applies when you purchase a subscription for digital content within an app. However, when you purchase or subscribe to digital content with Google Play, you agree that the digital content will be available to you immediately, and you acknowledge that, as a result, you waive your automatic statutory right of withdrawal. Therefore, you will not be eligible for a refund (or any alternative remedy) unless the digital content is defective, unavailable, or doesn’t perform as stated.
Having contacted EA prior to my request to Google Play and the reply I recieved from both parties I believe myself and others who made this purchase are ALL entitled to a refund.
Other players who used my initial email as a template have had the response from EA to request the refund from their app store directly.
If EA decide to do this again in the near future with Hans Mechman, Butterfly Maggie etc. I will demand a refund AGAIN.
It is a mistake by EA.

Can I ask instead of 15 donuts to add to my game Sideshow Bob or to launch the forced quest Sideshow Bob. I have been playing for a long time and I have 939 level, but I still can not get Sideshow Bob. I tried all the methods described in the EA forum, but the result is negative.
If you can go to meet me on a question concerning Sideshow Bob, but I would be very pleased and would not demand a refund through the store of money spent on Sven Golly.

In some of the Topps apps I play (Bunt, Huddle, etc.), some players were upset about purchases they made that they felt weren’t as advertised in the app. They got refunds from iTunes and then Topps locked them out of their accounts permanently. Hopefully that won’t happen to anyone getting these refunds, especially since at least one post says EA suggested to.
This thread makes me wish I had purchased the donut/Svengali bundle when it was available. His tent would look good in my fair area. I'm not particularly interested in the other 11 items in the Men mystery box.

I just got my money back directly from the Google play store instantly and without further questioning even though my purchase was months old!
I simply found the purchase in my history and selected request a refund then filled out an info box explaining the situation.
I suggest you all contact your own in app purchase store and request the same.
Perhaps then EA will take notice that in hindsight this decision was way out of order.

This would be easier than trying to get anything from them. Mind you they probably tell you to contact which ever platform you’re using.
