Think it’s time to stop being Green

I’ve been a faithful Recycler since it’s release. But with the recent death lag when Metal is being recycled, it just doesn’t feel worth the headache for 5 donuts a day. Especially when I can just buy a few RTT and have the same amounts.

So, have any of you stopped being green too? Why?

Replies

  • I stopped a few months ago and stored the dump and recycling centers, it's just not worth the grind. I have all the track I will ever need and earn plenty of donuts just from clearing my town.
  • I actually stopped once it changed to be continuous. One or two days of grinding 1, 2 and 3 hour tasks once a week was already too much. I had no interest in doing it all the time. I have Little Lisa’s Recycling Plant which generates blueprints, so every so often I accumulate more track pieces (and occasionally get the 5 donuts).
  • I have stored all the monorail tracks, the 3 terminals, Little Lisa's Recycling Plant, the Springfield Dump and the 3 recycle buildings. Having all those tracks around my town connecting to each of the 3 terminals was too much for me and they get in the way of the buildings when I go to move some buildings around (keep tapping the track when trying to tap a building to move them). I wasn't really a big fan of the monorail thing anyways but I did it anyways to see how it looks.

I kept Uriah (with the recycling building he came with) out though. Although, I stored the Monorail Cafe anyways.

I know these two are not part of the monorail stuff but I stored the car lot and Scrap City.

Do not add me as a friend in the game anymore as I rarely visit my friends' towns. Not adding anymore too
  • I also stored my monorail abiut 2 years ago. Little Lisa's does the railyard for me, but only because it requires absolutely no effort on my part. Ive actually been thinking of storing the recycling buildings to open up some space
I do not accept unsolicited friend requests! PM me and say hi first.
  • It was fun while I had it but getting rid of my monorail was the best thing I ever did for myself in this game. I still have the buildings out in my "waste disposal" area though as I think they look nice. Haven't worried about that grind for almost two years now and don't miss it one bit :)
  • Ive never recycled but maybe once or twice. Didnt want anymore Springfield Heights type of grind.

  • "Cleaning" up Springfield with just Homer and Lisa is very time consuming pain in the azz. Wish we could use every character to do it.

I wouldn't recycle now because I have nearly $2 billion IGC and can raise more donuts in 30 seconds via RTTs than I'd get from the recycling grind.

That said, I actually stopped when it became a daily possibility. I was willing to do the grind once a week and still could've done that, but oddly, the daily chance made me ignore it completely.

I still do the "Where's Maggie?" thing, though, because that requires no "grind". Just find her every day or so and send her on regular tasks...
  • Once it went continuous i quit it also. Had other tasks i rather had those characters on.
  • Same, I stopped a long time ago. Keeping them on the tasks was too much. I have lisa's recycling plant so I collect blueprints from there. And from time to time it surprises me with "you've earned more track" or "here are you five donuts". Lol

  • I wish we could sell some of our tracks. I have so many that I don't need and I still have Lisa's Recycling Plant.

I miss @wadebear and his reminder thread. I was in the 'who is this hurting' crowd. Seems there are not many monorail fans left, but I would love to see more stuff.

I miss @wadebear on the forum too. He was really helpful and funny. I still have him as a neighbor, hoping he'll come back but after this long it seems rather unlikely. Hope he's ok.

I saw him post that he is ok, just the forum and the game were taking over his life.

Just tapping Lisa's Recycling Center twice a day gives all the tracks and donuts in the allotted time.
