Just saw a video on youtube about tsto Christmas 2013, and even though the guy can't read, it made me miss that Christmas event sooo much. All the colorful gifts bouncing around and the little boing sound they made.
I forgot about dropping presents into other towns oceans or behind a building. Good times indeed. Didn't they use that mechanic 2 different years?

some of my neighbors and I used to PM each other let them know how many presents we dropped and where they fell.

It would appear you misjudged how many (what was it you called people who didn’t think the same as you?) bellyaching melon-heads there are playing the game that miss crafting.
I'm not sure why the upset. This event follows all other event sequences exactly:
Event released. People complain they cant download it and its too big
Event starts. Multiple threads start. Why I hate the update, this is the end of the game, more why I hate it
People post in I hate it threads that they like it.
People post that the people who like/hate the event are stupid
People post they are leaving the game
People post goodbye
Event continues, everyone plays
People post why it was best/worst event ever
Event ends
People post they are bored and when is the next event.

OP of that post was directed to people who are tired of the 3 act system. Couldn't read anything about crafting in their post so I don't know why you are quote sniping and responding to something non-existent.
Maybe I've been reading a different forum, but haven't we had multiple "tired of the three act grind" threads for each major event for at least the last year? EA gave you something different. So, quit your bellyaching melon-heads.
It is a simplified event. This time of year , we have more important things to do than tap screens,
As an added bonus, EA should create fewer glitches this month (well at least no major ones, we hope)

I have to apologize. After some googling, I realized I mis-quoted Grampa Simpson. It should read "Ah, quit your bellyaching, you big loser." My mistake. I apologize for calling all you big losers melon-heads. It will not happen again.

I personally was not happy about a major event being 4 mini events.......
But......
-The prizes look cool.
-The lack of crafting seems to equate to you being able to purchase items after you earn them in the prize pool. This is nice since you can get a virtual unlimited number of them instead of choosing which decorations you want multiples of due to crafting limitations. I only assume this since the first deco, "Hot Roasted Chestnut Cart" is purchasable now after earning it.
-Will be easier to log in every 4 hours for a quick tap while at work.
-Possibly 12 Land Tokens if 3 per mini event continues.
It does lack neighbor interaction now that there is no benefit to visiting neighbors.......
