I've slowed way down too. I just tried going to friends towns. Made it through two, then crash, went back in, made it through one, crash, went back in and just tapped on a friend, and crash. Can barely make it through my own towns tasks without crashing several times. The Halloween event I didn't get all the prizes, Thanksgiving same thing, and now, Christmas? I don't care anymore. I'll continue to play, but I just don't care if I get all the prizes, and, I rarely buy a building, because of the high price. Playing this game has become more
Iike work, than fun. I'll continue to play, but not nearly as much as I used to. Besides, when I'm trying to develope sections, the screen won't hold still. To place an item, I need to move the whole screen. When I'm not on the move an object mode, the screen barely moves. Everything is backwards on my game. If it wasn't for the fact that I was suspended on Twitter for a week, I'd be on Twitter right now.
Hi Jonalinn. I have had "Bart Screen" attack me on numerous occasions too! Usually, I can play thru it, but there are times when it can become "unplayable", in which case I stop playing. I hope you keep playin'! Homer would miss you! lol...well ok maybe not Homer, but Maggie would!
Hey Jonalinn. I play several towns and one is almost as unplayable as yours. I have quit tapping anything; putting anyone on tasks; going to neighbors; etc. I “try” to complete the daily challenges if possible. I go into the game no more than three times a day. I am just getting by. After playing since the beginning i hate to drop the game and have worked through these nightmares before. Let’s hope they get sorted out soon. Hang in!!
I quit playing for a couple years because I got tired of getting booted out of my town constantly. Couldn’t log in for days and when I did finally get in I’d get booted too fast to do anything. Combine that with the intimidating tasks of heights and the monorail and I felt I would never get my town complete. I was so frustrated I eventually stopped trying to play and deleted the game off my devices. But after I had time to cool off and got bored of other games, I eventually came back. I spent a lot of hard earned money on donuts as well as the time and effort to design my town that it was hard to walk away for good. I have to say, now that I’m getting back into it, I regret missing out on the different holidays and events. I’ve played since 2012, yet I didn’t get to experience the elf cannon I keep hearing about because of a temporary server problem. Don’t give up, but don’t let it get to you either!
So, we know this started at the same time with anyone affected during last event. It affects both Android and iOS devices. Affects devices that can handle the game and have loads of free space/memory. And for me at least may ebb and flow in intensity.
Here is something I did this morning and it seemed to help me finish my log in session. On Android go to Settings / Apps / Tapped Out / . Then Kill Process. Then go to Memory or Storage and clear cache (NOT Storage). Relaunch game. Only tried this once so not sure if simply coincidence or a clue that since the last update TSTO may be saving something in Cache that is crashing the game.
We also have documented the the issue will ebb and flow a bit....
Well, the issue has continued.....BUT.....in the last 2 days it was greatly minimized.....THEN....this morning it was back again with a vengeance. Took me 35 min to do a what usually takes me around 10-15 min.
It seems to me ro be realky bad today. I cant get nore then 3 RTT's in, more then 15 building/characters collected from, etc. In 10 minutes I got Barted at least 6 times!
My last session about an hour ago didn't have one Bart reload.......I am too gun shy to hope this is the end of this frustrating issue, but rather tend to think I just got lucky.
Tomorrow will tell as for some reason, my first login of the day seems to the worst one each day.
I play Yahtzee when I'm frustrated with this one. The simplicity is nice change of pace. Maybe try that.
1984 called. They want their game reference back.
Psh.
I'm pretty sure yahtzee was from waaaay before the 80s. But I'm familiar with it from the 2000s, because it was one of the few games that was always available for Palm Pilots and other PDAs.
Didn't you have a PDA before there were smart phones? I had a Palm V, Vx, m505, z22, THEN had one of every Palm phone! I loved that brand. They SLAYED Android, and only now are both them and Apple starting to catch up simply by ripping off Palm's best UI features.
Dig these fossils:
That's an old pic i wish i still had all that stuff and working.
That white one with the LCD screen, i bet has Yahtzee as one of the desktop icons lol
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!

Nah, never had a PDA. Never felt the need. No offence intended with the jest though mate.
I want to thank everyone that replied for their encouragement and support Your really did make me feel that i wasn't alone in my frustration. And I'm going to hang in there! I was able to get through most of my neighbor visits last night, so I'm becoming optimistic again lol
You got a great looking town~168sean... Checked out your town, WOW! ~daved
