1987 When the Day Comes (2018). An epic Korean drama film based on true events that shook the country. Star studded and a lot of characters. At some parts, it may be hard to follow as the story is tight and moves quickly. This is a good watch and I believe that it will end up in the must watch list of Korean films.

White Boy Rick (2018). Quite an engaging story based off common folks in Detroit. An above average watch

Master Z The IP Man Legacy (2018). An official spin off and sequel of a character from IP Man 3 film. Very colourful settings with good fighting scenes. This is the second time I saw the actor given a lead role in a film. He will be a rising star in the martial art films. I enjoyed this a lot. A good watch.

Galveston (2018). One of the most boring and meaningless film I ever watched. This falls under soap drama rather than a thriller. A good film to watch if you want to fall asleep in the afternoon.

First Blood (1982). Rewatched this after a few decades. First watch it in a school lecture room on a 20 inch TV from a VCR during a school festival. This has the best story for me of the whole series. A good watch.

Rambo First Blood Part II (1985). This was like the best mindless action film I ever watched during that decade. I have watched it multiple times and I could repeat Rambo's speech at the end of the film verbatim. I just realised that a special effects crew died from a pre matured explosion after seeing the end credit memorandum and researching it.

Way Back Home (2013). A Korean drama based off true events about a lady trying to get home from an prison far far away from home. A good engaging story. An above average watch.

The Super(2017). No superman in this. This belongs to the scary film genre. Quite standard scary scenes but competently shot. Best part is the mysterious storyline as it unfolds. An above average watch.

Cop Land (1997). A very good watch. Slyvester also put on some weight for this role.

Vikings Season 5 (2018 - 2019). Finally finished the second half of this season. 20 episodes in total. Good watch though a bit long winded
  • I was a bit disappointed with the latest batch of episodes of Vikings that just aired. Was slow and a little boring compared to previous season.
    Fear my pointy horn!

Yes I agree. The Last Kingdom pacing is pretty fast. Especially the first two seasons.

Rambo III (1988). This is the one where I have very hazy memory of as I think I first watched it on cable at my aunt's house during a gathering long time ago. After I rewatched it, I feel that overall, this is really a big budget film compared to the first two films. But it didn't connect so well with me on an emotional level. Still a fun watch.

The Negotiation (2018). A Korean thriller drama that is very story driven. Above average watch for me.

Burning (2018). I didn't watch this Korean film for a long while as the sight of two men looking into the distance didn't entice me. But I just realised that one of the men is Steven Yeun, the actor I like from The Walking Dead, and I gave it a go. I couldn't recognise him from the poster.

This is not a film to watch if you in the mood for a good time with pop corn and coke. But if you are feeling like a film connoisseur and is equipped with your wine, cheese and crackers, this might just be the kind of film you like. The film is very slow but has nice cinematography. And there are many things that you could infer and interpret as you go on the journey with the film. There may be a pay off from the slow burn, depending on how you look at it. This film has the quality of a Stanley Kubrick's or a David Lynch's film and film critics would surely love it. For me, I usually just want to be entertained and have a good time.

Edit : This is a film that is hard to forget. A couple of days after watching it, I am still thinking about it.

Sobibor(2018). A Russian film based on real events. Some scenes are hard to watch. An above average watch for me.

The Spy Who Dumped Me (2018). I have a good time with this one. And the actions are actually good. And got many nice scenery of Europe.
  • Watched Labyrinth. It still holds up, great sets and puppets.
