Thanks for this LPN an invaluable guide.
Is there an 'at a glance' list drawn up anywhere where we can see what the % of each piece is.
I think I've cleared out all the characters in it so now I'm working on the high multiplier items. There is quite a bit of meh items in there so I want to make sure that items are worth it before I go chasing for them.
Don't want to spend 150 donuts on an item that is only worth 2%.

There is probably a list somewhere in this forum, but the one i have saved is elsewhere. I'm not allowed to post an external link to that source here, but if you go to Google and type in the words below, the first (?) listing should go to the simpsonswiki page with the info you need. Theses are the words:

    simpsonswiki bonus multiplier

Hope that helps! One suggestion: if you see the Dragon bundle in the middle column of your album, buy it. Each Dragon is 2.5% (Maybe 2.25 ... I can't remember) and the bundle comes with three dragons.

Btw, here are some that I did not have, along with the columns they appear in. I kept refreshing until I had at least two of them lined up on one screen.

    Column A:
    Whale 7%
    3 eyed whale 7%
    Murderhorn 5%
Scary Dock 4.5% (also has playable character)

    Column C:
    Pompeii Ruins 3%
    Giant takeout box 2.75%
EPA Hoverjet, Pies for Guns, Acid Pools 2.5%

    Column E:
Outland Sign 4% (also playable character)
Dodgeball Court 4% (also playable character)
    Dunking Device 2.75%

There are undoubtedly a LOT more, but those were the ones I didn't already own.

    Hope that helps. :)

I guess I haven't been reading threads here closely enough. So there's a predictable pattern for what items are given out? The column placement matters? Help?

The items remain in their same column, yes. Most of the building/character combos are in the left column, as are the whales. They don't move out of that column. Same with all the other columns.

I also figured out that the items remain in their same sequence within their own column.

For instance, and I'm totally making these up, let's pretend that when you first open your album, the three-eyed whale is showing in its left column, and that as you press "refresh" the left column displays the Pope and then when you refresh, the left column has the Rabbi, and so on. Let's say you have 27 "Column A" items. On your 27th "refresh" you'll have the three-eyed whale again, then the next refresh will be the Pope, then refresh to see the Rabbi and on and on. They keep cycling in the same ORDER, and they remain in the same column.

This is true of each individual column. A column always scrolls in the same ORDER.

PLUS, each column is independent of the other columns. (Read on to see how this helps)

Now let's pretend that your album has 27 rows. You open your album and start scrolling, and your first screen has the three-eyed whale in Column A and the EPA Hoverjet in Column C. You hit refresh without buying anything. The second screen has Pope in Column A and the Dragon Bundle in Column C. You buy the Dragon Bundle but not any items other than that. The next page, the Rabbi is in Column A and the Giant Takeout Box is in Column C. The next page has the Cartoon Motel in Column A and the Acid Pool in Column C.

In that scenario, because -- remember -- you bought the Dragon Bundle, your Column A will still have 27 items but your Column C will only have 26. As a result, each time you cycle through the 27 screens, the Column C will "notch" up. So, next time through, the three-eyed whale will be with the EPA Hoverjet, but now the Pope will be matched up with the Giant Takeout Box, and the Rabbi will have the Acid Pool. The Cartoon Motel will be matched with whatever was next in the Column C rotation.

Now imagine that same scenario (you bought the Dragon Bundle, remember?) and now you have only 150 donuts remaining to spend. You REALLY want the Rabbi, and you REALLY want EPA Hoverjet. If you continually refresh your screen, you will EVENTUALLY see the two show up together. 26 more complete cycles, I think. That's a LOT of refreshes (26 times 26 ... Or thereabouts. The point is, you will see them notch up. And if Column C has been further depleted, like if you also bought the Takeout Box, Column C will now have only 25 items and will notch up two spots each complete rotation, so it will match with the Rabbi more quickly.

My brain really really hurts. Did that make ANY sense? I probably made a lot of mistakes in the details, but hopefully made a helpful overall explanation.

(If you are really patient and have no life (like me) you CAN line up three items (Column A, B and C) eventually. It just takes a LOT of refreshing. :)

Yes, that made sense. Thanks for explaining it.
Instead of hitting Refresh hundreds to times to line up two or three items, I think I'd rather spend that time purchasing/selling hundreds of rat trap trucks and then not worrying if I had to spend 120 donuts to get that one item I really wanted (on the off chance that I had to clear out the other items first).

That’s what I did - though I did waste a lot of time refreshing before accepting that I was going to end up buying the lot regardless.

  • Hi, could I just add re: refreshing, I’m not a donut rich player, and 2 characters I really wanted were Barney and Otto. So I figured if I could line those 2 up I would purchase the 300 donut deal, I did and I did! Got both the characters that I really wanted plus Mexican Duffman bundle, the ghost ship, Uriah’s heap plus a lot more. Just input from a different angle. Hope you don’t mind
