Does the expression "maintenance mode" mean: It will stay like this until the end without any more new things? Sorry, I just ask because English is not my own language, and I want to understand you right.
My thoughts at the weekend went in about the same directions. So I'm not surprised, but disappointed.
EA must make money, that's sure. And if they can make more money with games about fighting - not with me.
Rumour has it that because Disney brought fox,EA aren't sure where their deal falls with tapped out and they are trying to sort that contract out before releasing new content ...just in case the deal falls sour.
this make sense. We are going to have to be patient.
No, it doesn't make sense and people have to stop talking about the Disney purchase. Contracts are contracts, and when one company buys another, all existing contracts are simply transferred over with no changes or opportunities to renegotiate, etc. For the love of *insert deity here*, everyone just stop with the Disney nonsense. There is nothing to "sort out".
It does seem EA is getting out of the mobile games business. Hard to say for sure, but their public comments about future focus do seem to indicate cause for concern where the game is concerned. We will have to be patient there to find out.....or not be patient and walk away. Each player has to decide for themself.
Family Guy was another one of Disney’s acquisitions through the Fox deal and their game was recently updated with new content. It’s also another developer. So obviously the Disney deal has nothing to do with the games.
Well, I lurk often and rarely comment. I used to be an active part of these boards but decided to pretty much bow out. I’ve played the game for about 6 years and am still playing daily. Here’s why I’ll likely never spend another dime (my town is 100% complete)
The lack of a Thanksgiving event was the first clue that EA was uninterested in adding more content. Then St Patrick’s Day fun was ignored. Then no Easter. I thought we would revisit Whacking Day. Obviously I was hoping for too much.
Sure, it’s just a game. (Shut up you stupid whiners. You just aren’t being patient)
How about an announcement regarding the lack of the promised update of May 8 placed at the top of the forums to let us know **** is going on?

Again that May 8th update was from LAST YEAR. learn to read the whole posts.
I know this may be a long shot but does anyone know when the EA licence with The Simpsons expires? I know it was 2005 when they first got this or renewed it so maybe that's the case and they just no longer update anything if so.
If it has expired, I'm kinda glad because they never delivered what they were supposed to do in the first place.
For example:
Electronic Arts today will announce that it has secured the rights to make games based on Fox Television's long-running animated show The Simpsons.
Though exact terms of the agreement weren't specified, EA did say that it is a multigame, long-term, and exclusive deal. The games will arrive on next-generation systems.
We got ONE game in 2007 apart from Tapped Out and they never stuck with their promise of multigames on the next generation platforms, honestly, I think they just got lazy and couldn't be bothered so I'm kinda glad if they have expired from the franchise as it opens the doors for hopefully someone better to pick up who will do more and deliver (and if Disney have a say in this too, it will probably be much better).
We haven't had a Simpsons game for around 12 years now which people have been crying out for, just having a mobile game doesn't cut it.
I think @Deadshot_DCU is right though, as he makes a great point about the Family Guy game (Disney did buy out the whole Fox franchise) though if the deal has expired and a new developer is open to take the franchise on board, I'm sure Disney will have a say in this which again, I do feel it's a good thing.
I'm kinda glad Tapped Out may be done now to be honest, as much as I'll miss it we'll definitely get into something new just like we did with Tapped Out plus, hopefully we'll get some more Simpsons games on the new gen consoles.
It would be awesome to have a Simpsons game come out at the time of the PS5 launch which would be good for both The Simpsons franchise and Sony and would sell like crazy.
While it would be nice for some or many people to have a new console Simpsons game, there are many of us here that do no and never will own or play console games. I do hope that we do not get forgotten.

Sorry but given the amount of views to this thread ( I am responsible for about 20! ) could any lurkers add their voice please? A petition works on signatures not views. Sorry I’m not being harsh or demanding, one voice speaks but a thousand gets heard
I for one want this game to continue forever. While Simpson’s console games would be great, I still want Tapped Out to live on and continue to give us content forever.
Been playing since the day Tapped Out was available for Android, and I've never missed a day. I've neglected designing the outer part of my town, so I still have a lot to do, but it's strange not having an update for so long. It's like the old days of getting the next level. I'm hoping something big is in the works, and I'm not losing hope here, but a message from EA or even a cryptic hint would be much appreciated.

That's the thing ain't it, they were supposed to cover it all and no one be left out but there always has been, console players have been left out having nothing since 2007 (12 years) and phone players currently now just being dropped and left in the dark.
This is why I say, I'd rather someone else take over the whole franchise and produce this as opposed to someone who's not going to deliver what they promise for 12 years leaving them with nothing and then abandon others just like this with no explanation or anything.
This is what I mean about if the EA thing is no more with The Simpsons, it's probably a good thing to open the doors for other and better developers to take over and give the franchise and the fans what it/they deserve.
I've been playing for probably 5 years and have thoroughly enjoyed myself. Until recently. It's been months since a new challenge/quest and I couldn't understand why. I posted complaints on the Facebook page to no avail, then I remembered the Forum. I kept asking if the game was done in my posts, and from what I've read here that seems to be the case. F*** you corporate overlords. RIP The Simpsons Tapped Out.

I'm not sure its done. It may be. There may be a reason for a lull. What isn't on is the mushroom treatment.

Thanks for pointing this out so nicely. I’m going to take you up on your advice and learn how to read. Although, I did try to read that post pinned to the top of the forums, apparently I, being such an idiot, missed that the forums keeps IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS pinned up there forever.
Here’s a thought. Take down old IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS. (The date of 2018 was there, I missed it.)
Ok, I’m struggling here but let’s pretend my OP made zero reference to that IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT.
The body of my post is still a valid observation.

This game is not alive.
The problem is that when you just skim information you wind up passing misinformation and continue the cycle of chaos. It's aggravating and people nowadays should know better. As you say your post is "observation" otherwise known as your own opinion. Whether the game is alive or dead is only known by EA and EA alone. Your opinion is not a fact.
Having said that, I believe that TSTO may be being phased out. But that is my opinion, it's not fact.

There's more info on the deal here, although I don't know when that deal expires: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/ea-secures-exclusive-simpsons-license/1100-6137028/

Think about that.
