This is what happens when people come into a situation with unrealistic expectations.
Now, I'm not saying everyone is asking for the moon here, most just want a different take on the major events, and that's fine.
But, lashing out and making a scene because a bunch of game devs at a company making a mobile game, based on a TV show, inspired by a real family, tweaked from a comic strip, didn't make an event in said game that doesn't exactly appeal to you is just extremely petty and childish.
I would like to see events where we have friend interactions, but I'm not going to pout and whine if that day never comes.
Trying to control the horizontal & the vertical. Do not adjust your TV.
You know, there's a tried and true method to get changes to occur if you don't like what's going on - Take your time and money elsewhere. Nothing generates business changes faster than when the customer leaves.
It's not as satisfying as complaining, but it's infinitely more effective.
In the words of the Human Torch - Flame on!
Absolutely love the "Flame on!" ending to your comment lol

And so, it will probably never come because they'll assume you're fine with the current content. I love the show and the game, a little protest may bring some things into the game as I believe a lot of what we say here often does.
Make Nightmare Pile like Zombie Sandwich. All kids trick or treat at once.
I'm trying to work on stuff, so less events is a good thing for me.
That said, I'm spending less and less downtime between events playing, or even remodeling my town.
At some point, when I'm bored or just anxious, I'll probably clean up a bit, but meh.
I feel you though.
It's like a marriage that's gotten to the, here's some flowers here's some chocolates sorry I forgot (insert important date here) again.
Previous events have had a much more phoned in setting and feeling (I didn't even do the Marge one besides a little in the beginning)
I enjoy the new characters, but that's it.
I would like something that gives me a flimsy pretext to visit some Neighborennos. I'd like to drop some weird critter in a neighbors town, or cover a Brown house in Radioactive ooze.
I'd like something.
Some things will always be monotonous.
Yet what can you really say is new about this event besides a couple of characters and buildings?
Don't we almost always get new characters and or buildings? (Besides the Marge event)
Even if you had us tapping an 8-bit character that spawns infrequently, or done something "different", heck I'm hearing complaints about bigs still being around making the game hard to play.
You've spent all this time not making updates, and not improving the game?
You're not expecting too much, just something, something slightly new or at least recycled, but not some make up gift for an anniversary you forgot two months ago.
Just dropped 150 donuts for what I thought was a character but is just a skin of Nelson. Cool.
Also feel bad for people who waited four years to get the mapple building and then bought it since we're getting it for free. Lolololol.

It's not much of an event, granted, but I'm playing it because:
1st - Buildings & characters bring in IGC, and I need IGC, I find it a bit of a struggle to get 1M, 2M, 3M and so on.
2nd - There are products I can use, BlockoLand, BlockoDragon, there are a couple of things on the 2nd round that look nice, including what looks like grassy land, haven't had the chance to look at Wiki yet.
3rd - If I miss anything and later I think I could use that, it would probably cost donuts to get it when it comes back around. Cheaper to get it now even if I can't see a use for it.

For a while we had a whirlwind of back-to-back major events that seemed to become the new-normal. Clearly it wasn’t with the long downtimes between events and the string of 4-hour-task events we’ve had since last October.
There’s got to be a sweet spot of innovative, challenging events alternating with the perhaps easier 4-hour-task ones. Stonecutters had riddles, the Casino event had games, Wild West had movies. Let’s have something fun!

When was the last time we had an actual event and not a ‘send people on rubbish tasks’ situation?
You really can’t see it lasting too much longer with these standards.

Not just dull, but shockingly so. I know I am shocked. The dullness is shocking.
And it certainly does stink. Putrid even.
I did notice that the sun was shining outside though, so bit of a bonus there.

The Mapple store isn't free, it costs donuts
The freebie is Mapple HQ, not the store...
