Miss & Mrs Cops (2019) aka Girl Cops. An above average Korean crime thriller with a comedic vibe.

Lost and Love (2015) A Chinese HK production, about the issue of child abduction and the search in China. Story is based off real character. There are great rustic sceneries throughout the film. Good acting from Andy Lau. Overall it is a good film for me.

0.0MHz (2019). A rather bland, low budget Korean horror film. Average watch. A nice blonde hair girl helps to bring some joy to the show.

The Cloverfield Paradox(2018). I find this film decent and fairly entertaining.

A Better Tomorrow (1986). An influential Hong Kong crime thriller from John Woo, who is famous for his gun fighting scenes. This film also has an iconic soundtrack. Overall it is a good watch. This is a rewatch for me although the version I watched long ago was heavily censored to protect me from blood splatter.

Just saw Toy Story 4. It's a disappointment as it's not that different than any of the previous movies and suffered from both a bloated cast and too many storylines intersecting and distracting from the main plot.

Girly is cute but he just goes from annoying to "oh, he understands the world now" without any real growth onscreen thanks to those multiple plotlines.

Brightburn (2019). Got a scary mood throughout the film. It would have been amazing with a bigger budget. Overall a good watch

Designated Survivor Season 1 (2016 - 2017) . Quite a good political thriller drama. At times gives me the 24 series vibes. Once started to watch, cannot stop watching. 21 Episodes.
  • Last Movie I watched was The Simpsons Movie, no joke! My friend said they never saw it so we watched it! Now I got him hooked on the game, bring on the brownie points lol.

I am now watching episode 5 into season 2 of Designated Survivor and it is super boring. From a thriller, it became a political drama with even some comedic elements. Not my cup of tea anymore.

A Better Tomorrow 2 (1987). Because the first one was so successful, they forced out two more sequels. I rewatched this and feel that it has too much melodramatic moments. Overall, it is not as good as the first one. But it has over the top gun fight sequences to make up for the story. Directed by John Woo, he had differences with Producer Tsui Hark and didn't return to direct the third film

Blood and Ties (2013). A Korean crime mystery drama with a good kinship story. A good watch

The Unthinkable (2018) A Swedish drama thriller film. It can be quite boring for a long while before momentum sets in. A couple of action scenes are good though the budget is low. Overall it feels like an art film

Furie (2019) aka Hai Phượng . A Vietnamese action film with a few well choreographed fighting scenes. Good acting from Veronica Ngo, who was under utilised and given limited screen time in Star Wars The Last Jedi. An above average watch

A Better Tomorrow 3 : Love and Death in Saigon (1989). This is a prequel to this series. Directed by Tsui Hark after John Woo left the project due to creative differences. According to John Woo who made a Vietnam theme film, Bullet in the Head at the same time, this film was rushed out by Hark and affected John's box office.

I remember I didn't like this film when I first watched it long time ago. But now I feel that it is a good film on its own without comparing it with the style of John Woo. It has a more epic storyline that includes the situation in Saigon during the Vietnam war. This film is also significant as it is one of the earliest film to feature a female lead in an action role. the late Anita Mui, in a triad setting.

Anita Mui, a talented singer and singer also sang the iconic theme song of this fillm.

And this film also has the over the top action scenes with explosions.
