Daily Challenge given prizes from IGC menu, WHY?

I have been awarded from a mystery box on completion of a set number of challenges: Donuts, Bonsai Tree, Land Token, Kearney for example.
But also Khav Kalash, Weather Station and Nuclear Bunker / Bin, WHY?, I could buy them with IGC.
I am not referring to Burns Mystery Box in Premium menu.
I don't do Premium.
But the Mystery Box you sometimes get on the Daily Challenge.
Just a couple of days after doing 5 challenges, I got a MB of 10 donuts.
I do not consider it a prize, that after completing 5 challenges, at the end of the week I get something I could have bought for a few hundred cash.
I would rather have had either 1 donut, a decoration, building or something that was worth thousands of IGC not a few hundred.
I certainly was surprised but I just do not consider it a prize.

Now, not so much.
I would accept a coloured house, but another Khav stand, Bunker, Weather Station, I can only find so many uses for them, then they will end up being stored.
It's a waste.
I've never received a weather station in a mb. You don't mean the news van? Those have a 2% bonus, so well worth it in building your multiplier.
Don't forget about the Itchy & Scratchy billboard, and its 1% bonus! And the first four or five Lard Ladd donut shops you get are ok, after that they get old
Those I&S billboards were handy when I was multiplier-building. Almost all of mine are in storage now to free up my item limit. So long 576%
As well as the items in title post, I also have had a Lemon Tree and Mr. Chalmers Onda.
I remember the Bonsai because I thought it strange at the time because I thought it was IGC, it is not it is donuts only.
In the early days I had to buy a Weather Station as part of a task and it is opposite the school and near Rigellian Building Site, my first event and I forgot it was there.
I bought a couple more to look like vent pipes for fuel tanks behind a garage, and thought it strange when I received one as a prize.
Other than Maggie's Game, Scratch R Tickets, Sideshow You, Dig Site, I do not have any other games, so how could I have received a WS as a prize. Do EA just give out random stuff to it's players, because that's the only way I can see it happening.
@daved7637397 I only have 1 of each of Itchy & Scratchy billboard and Lard Ladd donut shops.
I keep them because of the bonus and the tax, but if EA do it to help out new players surely more of I&SB and LLDS or even Onda's for example, would be more beneficial than an item that can be bought with x number of taxes from the donut shop.
I have a number of Khav Kalash stands and Mill Ponds that I have bought anyway.

I think I have 4 of the regular ones out in my town, aside from all the special LL donut shops (future, retro, church of, etc)
As stated in the posts above, the Mystery Box cycles through a pattern of the same items. This is true of the MB bought for donuts and the MB you get as a Daily Challenge prize. Yes, it's frustrating when you get a worthless item from it. It's an artifact from the early days of the game and hasn't really been updated recently. Just shrug it off and move on to the next Daily Challenge prize.
By buying MBs you can go through the cycle pretty quickly (and thus get "good" prizes quickly, ignoring the junk). But the MBs via the Daily Challenge only come once in awhile so the junk really stands out.
The thing I don't get though. Does getting the MB via the Daily Challenge follow the already-in-progress MB-for-donuts pattern or is it following it's own separate pattern? I assume the former?
The Mystery Box from Daily Challenges and the Burns Mystery Box in the Premium Menu are one and the same. @KLmaker
Well now there you go, you think you're sounding clever by saying that you don't think it's a real prize then someone comes along and bursts your bubble, you would have thought that someone who's been playing this game for eighteen months might have realised that, but no!
