With no great reason to log in more than once or twice a day, some things have become a bit of a chore...
  • Free Maggie
  • Daily Challenges
  • Characters tasks <24hrs
  • Farm donuts for whatevs
  • Build multiplier

Once you got more than 10k donuts and max cash there's not much to aim for unless you enjoy designing and doing the events. That's all I do now anyway. :)
    Here have a banana!!
  • I still do daily tasks and split my standard tasks to a 12 hour and an 8hr.... I realise I technically lose 4 hours but it means I tap at least twice a day that way..

I also don’t do Where’s Maggie? and my son was tapping with me yesterday and I realised I hadn’t done Springfield Downs dog racing in ages.... or the go kart race.

I also haven’t visited any of my friends towns in like 6 months..... not sure how many of them are still playing but was surprised to see someone had vandalised my town last week - first time in ages!
  • I started to put away some of the multipliers that just don’t fit in my designs. This makes doing all the daily challenges and free giveaways necessary. I know I don’t need thousands of donuts ready for purchasing items, so I’ve quit farming. I still login two or three times a day, and visit my neighbors 3 or 4 times a week. I’ve started to store buildings if they don’t fit the design. I still collect IGC and work the monorail trash to get track pieces. I even do the treasure digging, store most of the pieces that I don’t want and only display the ones I like.
I don’t have all the land yet, and am in no hurry to grab it all. I try putting buildings and decorations together to see how they work together. Like the quantum tunnel and the portal to Rigel 7, to make it look like the car disappears into nothingness. I added the black hole to further the image.
I don’t rush tasks in events just to be “first one finished”. I rarely use the Skyfinger collection, I prefer to go through the buildings myself. I still search out the leprechauns and tap on them just for the fun of it. I go to the other Springfield just to “capture” Sideshow Bob.
I’ve visited my neighbors just to look at their designs.

What I’m trying to say is that the game is as fun as you make it.

  • What I’m trying to say is that the game is as fun as you make it.

Up to a point for me. I might make a few tweaks here and there, but I’m happy with 99.9% of my town. I’ve stored all my unwanted multipliers, digs have nothing of value to me, and my monorail is done.

Tapping on NPCs is fun enough when it’s not the main act, but I wouldn’t log in just for that.

    I have to agree.
Unless someone is wanted for a specific task I have everyone on 24hr tasks, because I cannot guarantee when I will be able to get on iPad, and if I do 12hr I could lose money, it has nothing to do with being bored.

Every day I collect taxes, find Maggie, play Scratch R, play Sideshow You, cancel Daily Challenge till it offers donuts, recycling, use up pickaxes at Dig Site, visit OS tap buildings and find SSB and sometimes go back and find him again and now doing event stuff as well.

I was making the most of the down time of no event doing everything above and some designing, as it looks like a building site.
I would do a lot more designing but because of the recycling lag, Come on EA sort this out, it makes it a bit difficult, it is still playable but takes patience, at least it is not as bad as I&SL lag which is unplayable.

I still have lots to do and play every day, even with no event.
I wanted to do it yesterday but I will invariably do it tomorrow (ish).

Actually, I just found something to do in TSTO. My main town is maxed out. In that town I'm getting a handle on the phrase "idle rich"

But then last week I remembered that I have an old secondary town which at that time had an existing multiplier of about 100 and about 100 characters, at about level 100. Had 3 donuts and under $2000 IGC. In Springfield Heights I don't even have the gym yet.

I hadn't played that town in more than a year. I realized that it has a yearbook chock full of probably 600 items, and have decided to set a goal to see how long it will take to completely empty the yearbook without using any RL money.

I've been playing like mad, and snapping up characters from the yearbook at warp speed. And THIS time I'm not fast-tapping through dialogues. I have 18 new characters with a skillion tasks in my task book.

I decided to skip events and just enjoy the town. Trying to complete quest lines is a pain with these 4-hour-cycle event gang assignments.

I'm actually having fun playing Tapped Out. :)

    Kind of the same here.
With so much downtime this year my feelings were the same as OP.
Started a second town in March and I'm really enjoying it.
I did spend a little money on the Frink deal when it popped up with the collider (such a good deal) but otherwise it's freemium all the way.
  • I'd never thought of doing second town. Does it require a separate ID to create one?

It does require a separate id but it's very easy to set up and switch between towns.

  • Here are some thing I don't do anymore.....and not because of my own choice:

    1. I stopped tapping the Idle Character Button on the top left of my screen, because it hasn't worked in over a year.

    2. I stopped admiring my fully grown Redwood Tree, since it reverted to its smallest state over a year ago, and I can no longer interact with it.

    3. I stopped enjoying a full-sized Burns Money Mountain, because it also reset over a year ago, and I can no longer interact with it.

    4. I stopped collecting monorail pieces, because my Rail Yard will no longer reset, and has not for over a year.

    5. I stopped playing the Insane Hot Pepper Cauldron game, because it has not worked in over a year.

And there are more as well, but I've complained so many times, to so many people, that frankly it makes me ill.

In case you still don't get it, I've had the "glitch" since March 2018, was refused a rollback and told it would be fixed, only after a long time to THEN be told to either get a rollback or a template town, but would lose all my progress over the last 15 months.

    Sorry, I'm very very bitter.

No need to be sorry, I'd be very bitter too. Even though I don't engage with the game the same way as before, I still enjoy scrolling around a town I've invested a lot of my time and creativity into and knowing that it all works.
  • I do one major play each morning “in the office” lol
Clear all characters and resend on 24-hr and then do Maggie.
I stopped Recycling a year ago and am so happy.
I still try to do the event stuff every 4 hours. Don’t really KEM farm anymore as I have donuts to burn(but I’m still too cheap to rush stuff with donuts).

    That’s about it.
  • I stopped doing these following:

    Find Maggie

Monorail building......I stored all the monorail terminals and the tracks and also the 3 recycle buildings, Lisa's Recycling Plant and Springfield Dump.

Do not add me as a friend in the game anymore as I rarely visit my friends' towns. Not adding anymore too
  • I stopped doing these following:

I love the dump, I have it next to the tire yard and Scrap City. I'd like to have Lisa's Recycling Plant on the map too, but I don't have the right beach frontage to make it fit design-wise.

I abandoned the monorail grind a long time back. I still get the bonuts because I have the Plant and collect there, but I no longer send characters on jobs to generate the blueprints or whatever they were.

For reasons unknown, I do still bother with the "find Maggie" game. It's stupid: I have 5700 donuts and the money to generate 1000s more whenever I might want to grind out RTTs, but I still work for that lousy 3 donuts every couple of days! :#
  • For the first time since I placed the unemployment office I sent characters on their tasks one by one. It was cool, I saw a lot of animations I hadn't seen before.

I really don’t do much anymore. Although I’m freemium I’ve got everything I can get, have all the land, a decent enough multiplyer donuts and cash and rushed the last two episodes of this event as I was bored with the constant recycling of tasks. All I’m doing now is visiting once a day to send everyone on 24 hr tasks which is keeping my donut count above 5,000. Sad as I’ve been a constant player since the first Christmas. However as I’ve never paid a penny to EA I guess they owe me nothing. I may well do some redesigning come the winter but the weather is too good to be glued to the screen at the moment.
I love my computer...all my friends live in it
