Golden Goose Realty. Something that was never promoted. Just hid in plain sight for a few weeks. EA. We are players of The Simpson’s Tapped Out. We put in Actual Money to play this game and want to continue. It would be highly recommended to re-instate Golden Goose Realty (GGR) so we can continue playing and continue giving you money (unless you don’t want money) so that we can continue expanding our land and enjoying playing this fine game. Please re-Instate GGR so we all can enjoy this game again and build the towns the way We want. This is why you created this game. To build Springfield how we want. This is all we want.

I bought 2 buildings from the Event Section in the store: the Timberlog Inn and Bethlehem Inn, the Golden Goose Realty was not in the event section.
Just out of curiosity, I thought I would have a look in the Premium Section and see what's in there as I usually didn't bother because I never had that many donuts.
I found the GGR in the Premium Section but if it was only available for the event then why was it not in the correct section?

Because EA deliberately put it there, WHY?
Did they not want people to buy it?
Was it a test to see how many people play premium?
Was it a test to see how many people complained that they need it?

I do not know why they did not put an event only item in the Event Section, but I have to agree with @aCornthwai859 that it was hid in plain sight and it should be released back into the store this year without fail.

Was the store a local shop for local people!!!

The GGR is not the only thing I want, it's a start.
I wanted to do it yesterday but I will invariably do it tomorrow (ish).
  • It was in the event store.
  • Okay so those of you that bought GGR obviously don’t agree with my previous statement, but if you hadn’t bought it you would want it to. I’m sure those that bought it use it daily. In the App Store for Simpsons Tapped out it says, “Create your own Living breathing Springfield!....Build your own Springfield....Well you can finally make Springfield just the way you want it!....” The problem with these 3 quotes from EA’s own App page for this game on the App Store is now because we don’t have GGR, we that don’t GGR can’t create the way we want anymore. I haven’t had new land in months. I’m tired of cramming things together. Please EA, just give us GGR as a Gil Deal.
  • I have had countless popups for Good ol' Gil Deal, which is not surprising as EA need to make money, I don't mind that.
And, I have had countless popups for Get This While It Is In The Store and it takes you to a premium building with a character, which is no different to any other building, ??? amount of money every ??? hours and it improves ??? rating.
    I don't mind that.
So why no popup for the GGR?

EA don't release stuff on a whim, I imagine knowledge about the release of land and how much it would be appreciated would have been known for some time?
I imagine EA would also not have been ignorant about how much the YMB would also be appreciated, and people would be buying stuff and filling up their towns over a period of time.
So it is hardly surprising they would need more space?
Enter, the GGR, but only for a shorter period of time!!!

Considering there would be an overlap with, land release, YMB, and GGR, and would be known about by some of EA's staff beforehand
I cannot understand how anyone missed the obvious glitch / hiccup about how important some would find the GGR to be, as it was only going to be in the store for such a short period of time, why did it not have a popup?
Considering the problems with the game and speculation with TSTO's future, I can only feel that there is some sort of nefarious reason behind it all.
I wanted to do it yesterday but I will invariably do it tomorrow (ish).
  • I agree that this item needs to come back. I really need it in my second town.
    But.
All this complaining that there was no pop up and it wasn't in the store is ****.
It was in the store. It had an info blurb about what it did.
You are blaming EA for your error. YOU didn't look at it. YOU didn't read it's info to see what it did. YOU didn't Google it for more info. YOU didn't come to the forum or the blog or the reddit or anywhere else to find out about it. YOU didn't buy it.
It was YOUR error, not EAs.
They put it in the store to sell it just like they did many other items. It is not their responsibility to make sure you see it.
  • To be fair to OP, of all the buildings to miss out on...
  • So I agree with @EllieGuseman that is was Our fault as players for missing out on GGR, not EA’s. EA put it out there and we missed it. Yes, it was mine and others fault for missing it. Boo boo to us. I was in my final semester of university and this was more a priority. I accept I made a mistake. EA has done a wonderful job on this game which is the only reason I keep playing. All I’m asking is for it to return soon so I can keep building just like everyone else that purchased GGR. Thanks.

They didn't miss it as any such glitch or hiccup. Peoples town getting bigger and bigger all the time makes the game much more expensive to run. There was intentional rationing. I would expect this to be obvious.

I agree wholeheartedly, to add to that.... The forums were buzzing with people talking about that, often times when an item (yellow Submersible) or in thiscase GGR, are released we often have various posts talking about the pros and cons.

We did learn that once you have unlocked all the land it starts generating cash instead, as such not only was a window off opportunity offered, but many people often encouraging people to buy.

However, it's true, they should offer it again perhaps in the Black Friday sale?
  • Shoulda read the forums or private blogs on TSTO about the GGR and how important it is. Be active in the community.
  • @EllieGuseman @brown_supahero
I would have been on the game 2 or 3 times a day and on here every other day at least, and had seen no mention of it.

If The Simpson's is to big that they have to ration aspects, is that going to affect there business behavior in a negative fashion.
Although the business model would be completely different, but if a company said they would provide a service and entice people to become customers, and then when the customer rings, they are told they missed an opportunity and tough luck and customers are notably treated differently passed any specific period, coupled with patchy service where they may or may not get someone with a van turn up to do the work anyway.
I can imagine the obvious customer result, I wonder how many people have already deleted TSTO.
I wanted to do it yesterday but I will invariably do it tomorrow (ish).

I agree this was all over the forums, it was a huge topic, which then morphed into a discussion of what happens if you get all the land and they release more, then there was a huge topic run on a 9 piece block of land that was glitched and caused it to stop giving land tokens, which they fixed, which led to more threads. I missed many event items in the event it was released in in some of my towns to be sure I could buy it.

Going by your rationing idea does make sense, though a bad business choice, does it also mean no SFH expansion, which a lot of people want, no Shelbyville expansion, no sea expansion, I know there was someone who wanted more sea.

Had a look through as many old posts as possible, I had bookmarked discussions in November / December 2018 and February 2019, but nothing that I could find in January?
Obviously not on here as much as I thought, I would have been in game more though.

  • As I have said before Krusty Land was the right model. It took to long to run it's cycle and it wasn't popular but that would have been the correct way to do things.

Needless to say expansion will always need to be constrained.
