I always dismiss Heights quests that give Heights currency, the same as I always dismiss IGC quests as well.
I only do what gets me donuts, even if it's Heights jobs, so I have started not maxxing them out now as it was really irritating maxxing everything out waiting for something that was not going to happen, or at least not for a while yet anyway.
I wanted to do it yesterday but I will invariably do it tomorrow (ish).
I'm running out of land also. This is a complete failure on EA's part which their history shows us that this is on par for them.
I know nothing of EA's history, but what is happening with TSTO surely cannot be good for them:
No SFH expansion;
No item limit increase;
Not able to expand across land because no Land Tokens;
Recycling lag;
KL rides lag in SF, so stored mine;
I&SL lag, all stored;
The game just lags anyway;
Bart screens;
Not able to sell unwanted items taking up inventory;
Uninteresting game play that requires little thought and distances from neighbours;
I imagine EA need money from the player's at the moment, but how many will not pay to play until this mess is sorted out???
If they were on Tripadvisor they would not have many stars.

I have to believe that some of the lag problems you are experiencing is a result of the device you're playing on rather than an EA glitch. I had the same problem a month ago and invested in a new HD-10 device. Playing TSTO on the new device is like a whirlwind - everything is so fast and smooth - no lags, no glitches, no problems at all. I also added a whole new section of monorail - over 50 pieces - just to test the game's parameters and nothing slowed down. TSTO is a very complicated system so keep that in mind when you add stuff - particularly if your device is more than a couple of years old.
PS: I have all the land squares and sea squares. What I need are new buildings to fill up all the empty space.
I have 100 wooden barrels from the excavation area of Angel Mall. I also have a high number of Dead Trees and bones from the Ruins. Sure, I could stop digging, but it's also currently the only way to get certain items I DO want.
Why can't I sell these items? I can sell some, but not all. Heck, even being able to dump them would be better than having them clogging up my inventory all the time. In fact a lot of things clog my inventory - like Springfield Heights items. True, my inventory is meant to be limitless but it slows my searching when I look for anything.
What if you took all the things you dont like, place them on the ground in a tight square, then store it all together as a group?
You would have thought so, I certainly did.
But when I go into the inventory, instead of tapping Group Storage, I scroll right to see individuals asking to be "Place" in blue, but see Grouped asking to "view" in red as well.
If I scroll the yellow arrow right to look in specific sections, some items do not appear there and I have to look through it all anyway.
