Where are the big REAL events EA?

Prev1
Just a thread for people who like the bigger event structures. The 2019 events all seem small and majorly unsatisfactory compared to previous events. I myself would love to see more big event builds like secret agents, springfield jobs, and burns casino. There is still much potential for the game but it is hiding behind 4 act tracks of shallwness. We need more pizazz please! Would love a spring break event!

  • I think those days are gone, Ross.
Make Nightmare Pile like Zombie Sandwich. All kids trick or treat at once.
  • I miss the old days where an major event was exciting and fun to design with now there just nothing.
    Here have a banana!!
  • EA doesnt care about this game anymore, each event is a simple copy and paste with the code with a few changes to the dates and characters.

Yep, there's a real sense of CBA about this game now, which is rubbing off on a lot of tappers, it seems.

Never thought I'd be one of them. I don't even bother with the showcase any more.

  • This game has likely been understaffed because no one spends money on it anymore. Everyone figured out how to farm donuts and so it's our own fault. We don't spend money so they don't spend time.

I have no proof of this but it sure appears that way from this angle.

You make it sound like it's cheating. It's been the strategy sold to us by EA from the beginning. Buy premium decorations and characters for real money and we'll make it easier and easier for you to earn premium currency.

It is more than likely the age of the game that makes it less profitable.

I still spend money even though I farm doughnuts just to support the game as I have had hundreds of hours entertainment out of the game and still have fun playing, if they where really worried about the farming of doughnuts it wouldn't be difficult for them to change the goalposts to make it harder but they sort of expect a certain amount as when you hit max cash they recommend you go spend some of it on Bloodmobiles, lol.

I made it sound like cheating? Uh sorry no, thats your guilty conscience. Nothing I said suggested illegal behavior. Dont put words in my mouth, thanks.

Strategy "sold to you" ? That statement is wholly disingenuous. They did not sell it to us at all. In fact they regularly mocked us for using it. They just didnt prevent it. That's hardly a "sell".

Donut farming is a legitimate exploit. That's all it is. We found a weakness in the existing system, which is simply that we can produce our own premium currency rather than purchase it, and we can raise our bonus multiplier to insane levels because there is no cap. They could have easily capped the bonus limit at 200% and we wouldnt have these conditions to exploit.

Idk why they let us farm. In the early days we were quiet about it. These days some people express entitlement to it. But it IS what has caused decline in spending real cash. There's no denying it.

In-game quotes that mock our behavior of farming bloodmobiles is only an indication they TOLERATE our farming, not that they condone it.

It's entirely possible that farming is something they dont care for, but the game may have already exceeded revenue goals, or may have already been slated for end of life wind down. There's no way to know.

But its a far stretch, to assume a lack of condemnation = support. That's rarely true.

If farming was something EA wanted to correct they could do so with a few lines of code I would imagine. I don't bother to farm because I have always enjoyed the pace of the game but it seems like it would be entirely possible to crack down if they were so inclined right?
  • I agree completely. I did not farm at first, and I expected it to be shut down. But once it seemed they were ignoring out behavior, Ive been on board since.

And so yes, im guilty of not shelling out any more cash since that point. I suspect many of us are in same boat.

Idk why EA allows anything. We just go day by day and get what we get. But its not a far reach to think that our lack of spending led to their lack of support. Certainly more realistic than thinking they WANT us to farm since they haven't stopped us. I just dont think they care anymore, and recognize if they banned farming now, then most remaining long term players would bail.
  • I think the next big even will be this Easter.
  • Of course donut farming is “sold to us”. Otherwise there’d be no good reason for 300-donut, 7% multiplier whales, or for a bloodmobile or a rat trap truck to generate the XP that it does; and certainly no good reason to release, several years into the game, an item that multiplies XP. When the collider came out it was even offered with a ‘free trial’.

Or... all this stuff was game design oversight made by the world’s biggest game developer and is ‘tolerated’ ‘cause they can’t wind it back. Lol, nup.

  • Uh, the good reason was to get your money, which is what the whale did when it was first released.

Farming was not sold to us. We, the players figured it out. We put the pieces together. EA did not create farming as a strategy. And they didn't stop it, like so many other exploits we discovered. Why? Who knows. We could speculate all day about it and never know.

But they didn't put the collider, or RTT into the game to subvert their own income stream. That's ridiculous. Nup indeed.

  • Er, yeh, of course mate, whatever y’reckon...

So... in your opinion EA recognized a terrible exploit developing within their player community. Eventually realizing it would drive down dollars spent to the point of making the game ultimately unprofitable... then implemented various items that would exacerbate the problem?

Also, in this hypothesis of yours, EA decided that they were powerless to stop users exploiting their game? The same EA that has never treated their players with a soft touch... that EA?

EA just accidentally made it easier to farm? And then accidentally just allowed it to continue? And just runs the game at a loss for no reason?

...or, maybe just maybe, the farming community is a tiny insignificant fraction of the overall users and the true reason for the lackluster events is because EA is just allocating less resources to an older game. Maybe it's not some insidious vampire-like feeding on a downtrodden EA and it's just simple resource allocation? Maybe EA is fine with the revenue generated by TSTO but... *gasp* ...wants to develop other revenue streams as well? No, it's probably just poor old EA beaten down by a cold unfeeling player community of leeches. That makes more sense.

    Rubbing chin thought provokingly.
I wanted to do it yesterday but I will invariably do it tomorrow (ish).
  • @kylemellev801 I sure as hell hope you're not talking to me like that. Wow. No wonder so many people don't participate in this group anymore. You didn't understand me at all, and you're putting words in my mouth too.

I SAID idk why they do what they do.
I ALSO believe the farmers are a tiny fraction of tappers.
No one said EA was powerless. That's obviously not true. I think they didn't care. I think they recognize that keeping higher level players playing, helps keep lower level players playing, AND spending. Only noobs are spending money, and they're doing it to catch up to older players. Longer term players are the best advertising, making noobs crave the things we obtained in the past.

Games like this aren't designed to go on indefinitely. They've made zillions of comments indicating this game exceeded expectations. So if they recognized its hey day has passed, they likely have adjusted their attitude about player retention.

Compare their options. Cap the bonus? Alienate all the long term players that remain?

No, you all must be right. EA wants us all to donut farm, so we don't have to give them any money. That's brilliant business strategy.

Is this my punishment for attempting to join the conversation here? I get to hear from people who want to argue and twist the meaning of my words? Ok, lesson learned. I'll go back under my rock and leave you folks be. I'm not gaining anything here but animosity, which i do not need. I was trying to support the forum because I've read it's a ghost town. But it's clear why. A few bad attitudes can ruin a forum. Pardon my opinion. I'll move along now.

  • Why can we all not just agree to disagree? Nobody knows why EA does what it does, let’s not be rude with one another.
