How does Socialism Work?

Prev1
So I have over 15 friends on tapped out and I constantly visit them and they visit me, but my Socialism section is at Zero stars. Can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong because I am not really sure. Thanks 🙏🏽

  • How long have you been playing? It can take a while for it to increase, especially if you haven’t been able to visit friends due to a recent bug (nothing to tap on). This is an old thread from another site explaining about socialism, which I assume is still relevant:

  • I’ve been playing for about two months and I’m level 75, at first I never bothered to complete the friends task, so I just payed donuts for them, but now I have been adding new friends and visiting daily for about four days, and my Socialism meter is still at zero.
  • It works by distributing a societies resources evenly throughout and not leaving the top 5% owning everything.
  • Brits: even though I don't smoke and eat to excess, I am ok with contributing part of my taxes to maintaining a healthy society.

Yanks: paying for some stranger's emphysema treatment? Ain't nobody got time for that!
  • Those last two replies are the thoughts that came into my head when I saw the thread topic and was waiting for stuff like that to show up... :joy:
You just had to look didn't ya!...

Was coming to say the same thing! You beat me to it. 😆

I read that some years ago. It was in a manifesto that was prefaced by:
"All for vun, vun for all."
  • It doesnt.
"I gave him a couple of blintzes to paint my fence but he never did it! "
  • It doesnt.

The current system of free market capitalism is really working out well though?
  • Dear Mod or God or whoever's in charge,
Please close this thread now before it gets out of hand.
What part of "unsolicited friend requests are all denied" do you NOT get?
  • Randy , Maybe 15 wasn't above the needed threshold and 4 days of more than 15 friends hasn't been enough time yet to register as an increase in socialism. Just play and enjoy and keep building yur town and these things are programmed to take care of themselves. It's a hamster wheel with milestones.

I used to have trouble upping the star rating that gets effected by graffitti, then my town crossed some theshold level and i've never dipped below 5 stars again. And yes, Mikey, the system that's in place now is the best we've got, it is working okay in that sense, whereas socialism suffers from sepsis wherever implemented. People under it stop striving, except in their efforts to join the corrupt cronies of the leaders who've ALWAYS made themselves exceptions to the communism rules enforced on the dupes, errrr, populace. Market capitalism has rich people as side effects. The alternative has Venezuela as the side effect. You've chosen poorly.
  • Socialism and communism are different.
    You've educated yourself poorly.

It's cute how you think this is the only side effect of market capitalism and Venezuela's crap storm is the only alternative. Many nations prove otherwise day in and out.

I think it's past time we return to an absolute monarchy. Much easier if my Emperor (or Empress!) tells me what to do, that would be a load off my mind.

Yeah, but then you get a government and they go and... NO... I'll get moderated.

@randyshat69 just keep visiting and it goes up eventually, I only visit OS and have 3 stars, I've got Stampy and about half way through the next section.
I'm level 205 and have been playing for a bit over two years.

  • If it helps, I don't know how Socialism works, I am very very anti-social. I just don't like being around other people discussing stuff - I don't have a problem with other people, I just simply chose to ignore them because if I conversed with them that might make me a sociable person. I decided I don't like the word sociable, so I try my best to make sure that I am not sociable which apparently makes me unsociable, although I prefer the word "anti-social" kinda like "anti-freeze" without being like "anti-freeze" because anti-social is nothing like anti-freeze, well with exception to the fact that both are anti-something
  • Anti social apart from participating on a social platform?
