I came across this on reddit, and I felt like such a fool because it's true. I bought the Sushi restaurant with donuts I won from one of those golden scratch r's, as I just thought "oh hell, why not", It's not like I paid the real price for them. It never occurred to me, what I was actually buying was an advertisement, a promotion spot, and what's even better, is it's something I'm not even nostalgic about. I never bought the fruit batman because at the time I knew I wouldn't care if I had him or not. If it had been Lyle Langley I wouldn't have batted an eye lid in purchasing him, but I went against my own principles with this one.

If they release more episode tie ins, then don't pay for a promotion, they need you to watch The Simpsons, so stop letting them get around you because it's just wrong. You would never pay to see a promotion anywhere else so don't put up with from a game.

However if you have your reasons for wanting those items and are happy to pay for them, then it's all good because The sushi building is a nice addition but I can't help feeling a little stung.

Yeah and they're the clever ones because we buy it.

I know, I certainly did. I'd do a face palm image here but I'm already wounded enough.

I only get to watch old episodes in the uk - the more recent stuff is shown on Sky first and I'm not in the market for satellite channels when we have so many good freeview channels included in the licence fee... so, yeah... as tie-ins they're irrelevant to me, and i'd imagine a lot of players, anyway.

Fruit-batman therefore wasn't on my radar, but I bought the sushi place and i'm kicking myself over not playing when Fat Tony was available because although tie-ins, they have a place in my historical simpsons universe. (Springfield-iverse? Apu-niverse?)

Nobody forces you to buy anything, and every promotional tie in has included at least one free item, this time it was the waterfall.

Actually only the last 3 episode tie-ins had both a free & premium item included. Swanky Fish/ Springfield Falls, Fruit Bat-Man costume/ Fruit Bat-Man Signal & Gorgeous Grampa costume & Gorgeous Grampa Billboard

Before that, the first 3 episode tie-ins were totally free

    Duff Racer
    Fat Tony
Cool Brown House & Cool Homer costume

The tie-ins should be free. The greedy trend continues.

From the trend after the cool brown house, it seems as we will never get a free tie in like that again, a new costume plus a building, oh well i dont mind :p updates are updates but free update are btr premium updates.. When it comes to tie in- episodes

There were free items. The entitlement trend continues.

I judge these as every other premium. Will I miss it if it's gone? I only got 1 limited time item, that was Kang. If you count some of the Christmas stuff that is now donuts, I have a few of those. But passed on the donut Thanksgiving Balloons, passed on Santa's village, passed on Mr Plow (sort of wanted this, but thought it was a little pricey), passed on Shauna, passed on the Well, passed on the billboard, passed on Fruit Bat Man. Didn't care for any of those.

Yes I know, that's why I took the time to type "at least".

Would be better if they were free for the week of the tie in, then were available for donuts for a while. I would gladly pay a few donuts for the duff racer.

EA just gave us the first couple of tastes for free. Now that we're hooked, we gotta pay. Sound like something???

I'm in this boat with the episodes, I don't care for Sky. I haven't bought the fruit bat man costume or the sushi falls, figured I probably wouldn't even remember what they were were a few weeks after the episode, much prefer the more iconic buildings and charecters. :)

I don't get why people want the Racer so much. It's nothing special and doesn't do anything unlike the other vehicles that came afterwards. Do people want it solely on the rarity of it?

For me it's partly the rarity, but it's also the fact that I think it looks good so it's an aesthetic thing as well.

It's really cool looking. I wasn't playing when it came out, so I can't regret it. But I'll buy it, if offered again.

I'm with deadshot I don't understand people wanting the racer so much. Most people would rather have it over fat tony.

I have the racer and I think it's cool but it's nothing to me. Fat tony is way cooler.

I still like it but yes it doesn't really fit anywhere. It looks ok with the duff building or the downs.

I think I have even used it with the bowlorama. Never really fits anywhere.
