Can't wait till the next update. I wonder what EA has in store. If I had to guess, it'd probably say defiling my grandmother's corpse. Because hey, eff those hardcore players, amirite EA?

Just reading this...WTH??!!!!! Is this for real? So it's our fault that their server gets overloaded? Fat chance! They are making enough $$ to have better servers. Now they want players to sell/store what they have built up in their Springfields. Just doesn't sit well in my mind for them to do this. Just get better servers and btw give players more land :D

I know, I'm the same, can't believe this is happening. I have no chance of staying under the minimum, and how boring are peoples Springfield's about to become. I've not had the warning yet, but it's dumb. Unless they put a counter in the task bar so we know how many items we've placed, this is just gonna create an angry mob.

This is a completely **** solution to a problem imo. What has happened is all these people exploited the hell out of that scratchie glitch while they could and have ended up with bucketloads of premium items, giving them a multiplier thats of the charts.

All this is going to achieve is destroy the beautiful towns out there, that people have spent hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars on, now they have to trash them. I can see why people are leaving in droves over this.
    Dumbest idea ever.

Sorry for ranting, I don't normally do this but I can see now how EA have earned the title of 3rd worst company out their.

Yes, all that did happen, and no, it has nothing to do with the limit. It's the Android players being crammed onto the same amount of Origin servers as they have now.

EA really screwed themselves on this one. No reason to buy premium items if you are at your limit and cannot display them. Way to "fix" your problems EA. I spent a lot of time building up my town to something halfway decent and almost half of it is taken away in an update. Worst update yet. With this kind of limit, how many more updates could they really have?

Sorry about the rant. I have to sell (for 25% of original cost) or store 2000 items. I have no idea where to start nor do I really care to. This just plain sucks.

I'm not destroying my Springfield to get under the limit.

EA, YOU JUST LOST A DONUT BUYING PLAYER. FIX IT.

You see, this is the problem with online only games.

I'm a big console gamer and to be honest the future and safety of gaming scares me because big companies like EA seem to favour virtual or server based products, so that they can charge more and have greater control over their titles.

Look at the launch for the new Sim City, they have totally ballsed that up and ruined an experience that hundred of thousands/millions of people were looking forward to. You never had these issues with older versions with hard copies, or games that are downloaded ON TO YOUR PHONE.

EA really need to sort their house out. They ruined Dead Space, they ruined Burnout, and now they've ruined Sim City. They are alienating people quickly.

Me too, i cleared 2000 items and I am still over. I still have about 430 items to get rid of and they are what I consider unique elements of my town. On top of that I put my Springfield sign in storage too so I can't even place it.

This latest update is game-ruiningly dire. What a waste of hours and hours trying to be creative. :(

Strongly favoring not playing and spending money on this anymore. What's the point if they are going to limit our creativity but still charge a butttload for premium items. Total double F on that one.

I'm looking at it as being temporary.

I'm taking down everything and just leaving it a shell. Then when this event is over? I will do a massive redesign and figure out a way to make my town all pretty again within the constraints of this limit.

My town was stagnant anyways because I loved the design and didn't want to change anything. This is forcing me to get very creative because of the limit.

Can you tell that I'm trying hard to find a bright side?

It's good to think that way but I just don't see it going down that way.

Ea now has all of the android players(myself included) in the same server as ios. Android will more then double if not triple the number of ios players. That is alot of people on one server.

Everyone will get over it one way or the other. That or quit. Ea does not care one way or the other. They got there money and now they will get way more from android people.

I really hope so Lissa but I think Walter may be correct :(

I can't bring myself to say that this is the end forever but I have that gut feeling that I can't shake...

I really hate to be that guy but I love this update. I now have my ipod touch town on my samsung galaxy. Sure I had to kill 400+ things but big deal. The xmas freeze was way worse. I had to kill every tree and bush in my town.

It will suck to see some of you go but that is life. Well life in videogames ;)

3000 is extrememly low imo, its not fair to cap peoples towns that have spent lots of money and time. Plus they will all just end up looking the same. I am unaffected as of yet but still have the main story/job line to finish. I am not looking forward to reaching the limit

I don't think their is anything to worry about, I think EA is just playing it safe whilst it transfers the Android users over. Once they've got them on the servers and see how they're running they'll remove the cap. That's my take on it anyway, either that or their testing the waters to see how customers respond (which, as of now, is badly)

But for now, especially those who are having to store items just think, "out with the old, in with the new" any of the previous buildings that are a bit dated, just store them and replace them with the new buildings you get, because you're gonna get quite a few. There's no way EA will keep this in place, it's driving custom away.

this is a very good point and very possible imo

I am going to use up my donuts playing.

And when there is nothing new to do, will probably never sign into the game agin if I can't play with decorations.
