Future Proofed home Ladybot

Replies

  • I already had a "Future-proof home" from the original event, but didn't get Lady-bot at the time, she was re-released once since then but as a bundle (I think with Prof Frink) which it wouldn't let me buy.
The point being that this time round it let me buy her even though I had the building already, so the "unique item" it refers to must be the character, not the building. This is supported by what @Castiel19x has found out about storing the character to exploit the loophole.
Either way, thanks to those brave souls who tried to get a 2nd Lady-bot & just got the home, you saved me wasting 100 donuts as I was planning on risking it after I'd finished the story missions of my 1st one.

I wonder if this method works with other bundles that have been offered or more in the future.
TOUK is the best also have you considered Nuking. Don't forget about the Springfield Showcase
  • It's worth a try @Castiel19x, I'm not sure if it even still shows up if you're not allowed it though.
I do remember trying to sell or store my House of Evil the 1st time they bundled Evil shopkeeper & Krusty doll with that, but it wouldn't let me sell it & storing didn't help.
But when they apparently re-released Casino Miss Springfield in a bundle I didn't even see it in my town, just read about it on here.
The only other bundle I think I've fallen foul of was the return of Treestache, but I can't remember if that was visible in my town or not?

So many people miss out because items are bundled and they'd managed to get at least one item.
Perhaps offer bundles to all and add a pop-up like the confirm donut spend that warns you won't get multiples of the item(s) you already have, just the item(s) you're missing for the price of the bundle and if players want to pay the whole cost for the thing they need then they can, or they can cancel if they thought they could have extra of whatever they'd previously got and don't want to pay full whack for less.
. . . and breathe !! Hope that makes sense, I know what I mean but not how to write it, sorry.
Simpler, better idea. If it's not simply a decoration bundle offer everything as individual items and then make up bundles with a bit of a discount on buying separately.
    ( edit - typo corrected !! )

Thanks @Castiel19x. I was wondering if I could buy 2!

You can buy another building but not another ladybot. But the building if you still want it will cost 100ds

Thanks @NicholasD1984. The thing that amazes me about all this is, that in my almost 8 years of playing TSTO, I have NEVER before been offered a character that I already have in my Store! And, with this event, there’s not only 1 (Ladybot), there’s 2 - Hans Mechman shows up as a free bonus character for me if I buy 132 donuts! I’ve already got him, so I know that I wouldn’t get him again, I just think the game mechanics/coding have maybe been changed before this update?

If you place multiples of unique buildings or decorations you run the risk of breaking your game. It's not great advice.

    Nope, that's completely false.

    No you're completely wrong

You can say that all you want , but it doesn't make it true. You are incorrect.
What part of "unsolicited friend requests are all denied" do you NOT get?
  • They've patched this and Hans Mechman showing for everyone.
You didn't need to store LadyBot and overpay, it's now in store for the usual price of 45 Ds !!

Oh well there goes 300 donuts. Thank EA!

  • So you have a lot of experience in that @txrabbit3737 I have it on good authority that I can't mention on the official forum that this can be an issue. You should at least warn people so they are aware.

I’m not 100% sure but I think this has happened before.

I also have it on good authority that it's not a big issue. I don't encourage, but I don't outright lie about it.

Whatever, you're just going to believe whatever supports your belief system. So your assertion is just as erroneous as the blanket unsupported statements you make. I'm done with this.

I'm privy to the same info as Ellie. I'm not lying. Multiple unique items CAN cause serious issues in your game. Not WILL but CAN. I'm not trying to spoil anyone's fun but sound a note of caution. Calling me a liar is just going beyond the pale.
  • @txrabbit3737 if you are okay with possibly setting someone up to have their town be messed up and you be responsible for it, then sure
The two houses are still listed as unique so people are taking their chances. You were definitely saying it was ok when you disputed what Mikey said and now what I said
@johncolombo or @Deadshot_DCU maybe you should just close this thread if you feel it needs it
  • Oddly the building still shows as available in my store. It might be that the classification of Unique has been dropped, or it might be a glitch, but I can add to my two if I wish.
I would imagine EA are aware one way or the other though, and these won't come back to bite you.
Other buildings on the other hand would be considered suspicious to say the least if a player had more than one, and that might result in trouble for the player.

  • Loving your confidence in EA there @1-Graham-S . I'm sure they would never make a mistake or do something that had unforseen (to them) consequences./s

I think when the Future-Proofed Home was first released in the Sci-Fi event, you could only get one of it since EA offered it 2 different ways in that event:
    1) In a bundle with LadyBot for 100 donuts.
    2) On its own for 45 donuts.

The only other times it was available was in the Cyber Monday mystery box so it would've been difficult to get multiple Future-Proofed Homes from the mystery box since you usually can get one non-unique item from a mystery box if you haven't got it once before. I believe EA limited everyone to only having one Future-Proofed Home in the Sci-Fi event and Black Friday but with the current event, EA has allowed everyone the option of getting more than one Future-Proofed Home.

Also, if you store the Future-Proofed Home, it would appear near the end of the categories it appears in (Buildings, Homes etc.) with the other non-unique items as it would've appeared nearer the front of the categories with the unique items.

To summarize, I think the Future-Proofed Home has always been a non-unique item but in past updates everyone was only limited to one of them. In the current event, everyone can buy multiple Future-Proofed Homes.

Edit: I also have LadyBot in my town and I've had her since the Sci-Fi event.

It's listed on the wiki as unique
  • All of that is a guess. Until we know for sure, people should be warned that we do not know for sure that it will not cause a problem.

On SimpsonsWiki, its listed as unique but the Tapped Out Wiki doesn't say if it is unique or not. I also got 2 of them in my town: 1 from the Sci-Fi event and another one from the current event. I don't have any problems in my game but I can't speak for everyone to say if it does or doesn't cause problems in the game. It was just my interpretation and opinion on the subject since I could be wrong about this.
