Have any of you tried this as a possible solution to a dead email ??
If you can use any of this to verify your account you should then be able to edit your email.
Go to your EA Account Security settings.
Under Login Verification, click Turn On.
We’ll send you a code via the method you choose right away. Use that code to activate Login Verification, and you’ll be all set.
and
When you use the app authenticator, you’ll get a code from the Google Authenticator app whenever you need it.
Pick App Authenticator when you’re setting up Login Verification, then click Continue.
The problem here is that any time you make any attempt to do anything like adding a second email address, or adding a phone number, a code is sent to the original email on the account in order to continue, which is useless.
I'm in the same boat, daily player since 2012, paid money for donuts & now can't play it due to the verification issue being sent to a dead email address!
Tried the live help 3 times with no joy, trying to add an alternative as suggested by Graham doesn't work as it sends verification to the dead email address too!
Pretty gutted & angry to have it end this way but no way of recovering my game or email address
EA really need to find a way to help players who only ever played this on a mobile or tablet so there's no Console ID or EA purchases to use as proof, just in app buys and game details which don't seem to be accepted as security answers even though they should.
If the help desk were to ask what your registered email is, your Origin ID, how much cash have you got and how many sprinkles ( and accept a near answer rather than to the last cent ), when you started ( to the nearest event ), what level you're on and what was your last in-app purchase ( accepting None as an answer if that applies ) it seems reasonable only the genuine account holder could answer questions like this
I'll say it again. Come on EA, let people Play The Game.

Or, just remove this verification code nonsense (which has been an endless loop of nothing for me and I have a ‘live’ email address) and let us sign in with our email and password, like we did the last 8 1/2 years.
I'm in the exact same boat, been playing for 9 years. Started when my son was born. Currently on my second attempt with the chat help function. This time they asked me for number of donuts and money on account. I knew the donuts, but anyone playing as long as I have knows you have no clue what amount of money you have. Its very sad to know that the time is probably over, and worst yet is i never got to say a proper goodbye...
@asudevi1 - can you not make an educated guess / reasonable approximation ??
I know my 6 year old main town is at or just under the maximum on cash, basically $4.3 billion, and my 19 month old second town is a bit over $2.5 billion
( was closer to $3bn but I cut my bonus and I'm actively reducing it to $2bn )
I'd like to believe they'd be able to consider a fairly near amount even for players with a few thousand or a few million rather than wanting it to the nearest cent
-
I only know the sprinkle count for both games to the nearest thousand too !!
@asudevi1 - can you back it up with a detailed history of buying donuts and scratchrs ??
Perhaps if that is a comprehensive set of info they'd be a little more lenient on the IGC count.
Maybe you just need to find the right help tech and keep trying, and I wish you luck.
@TheRealTiminator and anyone else affected . . .
Just read a post elsewhere from someone who was being asked for card and purchase details etc.
They were quietly advised to log into their EA account and see exactly what was on file there.
Go through purchases, subscriptions, payment methods, everything, and answer according to those records.
That meant answering None for purchases, Card details and the like was the right response !!
I hope that's useful info and still works for anyone else who needs to get their email changed.
.
EDIT - an example, as I understand it : -
.
They ask what's your billing address
You tell them it's not on file
They ask what's the last four digits of your bank card
You tell them it's not on file
They ask what two games did you buy last
You say not bought any
They go yes, that's right - but without actually telling you
.
Meaning giving them an address or a credit card number they don't have even if it is a fact will be considered a wrong answer - and cause them to deny you help !!
Another idea I've seen mentioned for dead email addresses -
If they're not an old work, college or ISP address where you have to be an employee, student or customer then try signing up as a new email account but using the old email address and see if it is available to register.
You never know, if it has been dead for a while you might be able to use it again !?!

Tried that, it was an AOL one I had used, once it's been deactivated there is no way it can be reused/reissued
Had two phone calls this morning with EA, failed the questions again. Even tried answering no to everything that wasn't on the account (cc, purchase, phone number etc.) I can pull up all that info on my EA account when I log in, but somehow still failed the questions...

Probably a couple of hours from now it will be available for download.
The latest update hasn’t done a damn thing to address this. Screw EA.
