Hard Hit (2021). A Korean thriller with vibes of Cellular and Speed. The first half was pretty good but second half thrill factor went down and became more like a drama. Overall an above average watch.
Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard (2021). Quite light hearted action comedy. Bringing in the wife was rather annoying and I guessed the character was successful in the portrayal. Quite interesting to see Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas sharing the same screen again. I think I have not seen them together since Desperado. Nice to see Morgan Freeman again.
I agree the suicide squad is my favouite movie of all time, for giving new standards for superhero movies. I am a superhero dc nerd myself and was stoked to see Polkadot Man, Peacekeeper, Starro etc super accurate in live action
I really loved this new drama series on HBO. Very engaging, emotional plot with excellent acting all around especially by Kate Winslet. A excellent watch. Two horns up!
Fear Street (2021) This trilogy is a good watch with a very fresh storyline. Quite a bit of scream vibes I feel. Episode 2 is my favourite. Thanks for the recommendation @Rhinomix76
Once a Thief (1991). This is a John Woo's film but the style is quite different from his other films. The film has quirky characters and the plot and tones were uneven. It was trying to emulate the slapstick style of another HK director Wong Jing but didn't do as well as him.
The film is partly set in France and then HK. I wonder if the quirkiness was due to the French influence.
His signature gun actions were there and there were some good real stunts. And it was nice to have the late Leslie Cheung and also Cherie Chung who had left the industry. I think Hollywood still held the film in high regards as they remade an English version in 1992.
Overall an average to above average watch though if I watched it back then, it could have passed as a good watch

No problem @168sean168 ....episode 2 was my favorite too
The Suicide Squad (2021) I seen it last night I absolutely loved it I actually liked Suicide Squad (2016) just didn’t like Jared Leto’s Joker But The Suicide Squad is up there as one of the best films I’ve ever watched James Gunn did a brilliant job there was pretty much every genre that was in the film without spoiling anyone there was 1 death that got to me and I should say there’s lots of characters that die and it’s a bit gory too but reminds me of cartoons like The Looney Tunes the violence that was it that I also really liked the characters I would give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars
Beckett (2021). This film was overly long. Some scenes are too long, In the beginning, need to wait like 15 mins for something to happen. Story wise I feel that it was a bit incomplete. Overall still an above average watch especially if you like films like The Fugitive
Cold War (2012) This is supposedly the most epic film series from HK since Infernal Affairs. Very polished production and good acting with many actors, some making cameos.
The action sequences in this first one was a bit muddled though. The focus is mainly on the plot with some mystery backstory.
I rate it as an above average watch.
Cold War 2 (2016) I feel there was an overuse of dramatic music and an unnecessary cheesy CGI animation in the opening credit. Once again good acting and there was a nice shoot out scene. I like this better than the first one. I didn't know that there would be a third film. If I knew, I wouldn't have watched yet.
Limbo (2021). This is a HK noir crime thriller presented in black and white. Every shot was beautiful even if you were looking at garbage and slums as there were layers of different textures. It was not boring at all like most noir film. Some scenes are brutal. Actings were good except for a new officer, played by Mason Lee, the son of Ang Lee, the famous director. But probably being inexperienced helped in the portrayal of his role. This HK film might be the best HK release in 2021 or even past few years. Though there were very few releases.

I thought this film was decent. The buildup was good but the ending was lacking and even unbelievable in one scene.
Stargirl Season 1 (2020) 13 episodes. I thought this would be another one of those campy CW DC Arrowverse shows but turned out it is really good. There are interesting characters developments in both the good people and the bad ones. And there was no promotion of wokeness in the plotline, though in episode one I thought I detect a hint of it in one character. So far the series is very wholesome and family friendly. Production value is high and the show looks cinematic.
The show might be part of the Arrowverse as a second of it appeared in the Crisis episodes.
CW is taking over from DC Universe for season 2. I hope they do not start putting wokeness in the show.
Superman & Lois (2021) 15 episodes. When I first saw Superman in CW Supergirl, I actually don't really like the casting. But this series changes my opinion and his depiction is perfect. This drama is good, nice cinematography, with a tone like the golden age of cinema. And this might be the first CW DC show without any woke plot and characters. A very wholesome family friendly watch.
Snake Eyes (2021). Production value is good. But storyline is weak. Actions are not mind blowing. Many shaky moments and close up actions, straining my eyes.
Overall it was a disappointing reboot. It is an average to above average watch.
Bangkok Dangerous (2008). A film director by HK directors, Pang brothers. I feel it is an above average watch. A typical assassin thriller film with colours of Thailand in HK style. It was a remade of a Thai film also by the same directors.
Charlie Yeung or Young, an HK actress in the film. A sweet actress back in the 90s is also in the show. Last time I read that her Singapore lawyer business wasn't doing well and she returned to industry to help out. She is nice, until now they are still married and gave birth to a pair of twins
Vanguard (2020). This is a big budget Chinese film with slick production. There are a lot of action scenes across a few countries.
I could only recognize Jackie Chan. I believe the rest are Chinese actors. The director is Stanley Tong who gave us Rumble in the Bronx long time ago
But with Jackie Chan being so old, and also that this is a Chinese production, it is no longer as good as the old HK Jackie Chan films. The action scenes from the young actors are not so good. There are also a lot of CGI.
This was a made for Lunar New Year film but was delayed. Long ago in 80s and 90s, we would always look forward to a good Jackie Chan film for the lunar new year. Those days are over.
In the tradition of Jackie Chan's old films, this film shows some of the stunts used in the film in the end credits. In this scene an accident occurred and Jackie Chan was trapped under the skid jet.
Jackie Chan relating how he nearly drowned making the film. It was a pity during the film, I didn't feel the suspense. In fact the scene looked fake as it was enhanced with CGI.
Overall I rate the film as an above average watch for its actions. If you like Fast and Furious films, you may probably like it.

The Suicide Squad (2021). Much much better than the first one. In fact ranked up there among one of the best superheroes films. Very good watch
I loved it too! I hope when James Gunn is done with Guardians he makes a sequel.

Anna (2019). A Nikita kind of thriller film. A good watch for me.
