Calling it quits

I've been a two times a day player since the beginning, but after a year or more of cookie-cutter quests I've deleted the game from my tablet. I can remember when quests were varied and interesting; of late they're just dull. So I've called it quits, just like the developers and programmers of the game have done.

  • Sorry to hear that. You’ll be missed *checks notes* JohnBinCC3
  • I wish my only complaint was dull quests. I still have "the glitch" from years ago, and yet I forge ahead!

At least I took advantage of various mistakes on their part, and have a 9248.00% bonus, so I guess we are even.
  • What happens to the Springfields that people just stop playing.

How do you get such a large bonus? I’ve got everything else conquered but it takes 12 Rat trap trucks to get about 48 donuts. Not that I’m complaining, just looking for the way to get that bored with the game too :p

There was an event where the wailing wall, which grants a 2.25% bonus, was on sale for coins (instead of donuts). I bought as many as I could before they corrected it. The same thing happened on a later event where the burning bush (0.5%) was also on sale for coins only.

Nothing, my wife stopped playing over 3 years ago and her Springfield is exactly how she left it the day she quit (I keep her as a neighbour incase she decides to play again), I had a break from the game for around 18 months and when I logged back in I just picked up from where I left it.
  • @Lobes06 was it that top left character button glitch? You are tenacious!

Yes, among many, many, many other issues. That is probably the most impactful part. I have to go to the City Hall and scroll through my 450+ characters to find who I need a lot of the time. If they could only fix that one issue, I'd be thrilled.

Agree with you 100%, not really bothered about all the other stuff that the glitch broke and reset back to the start but not being able to use the character finder is rather annoying to say the least.
  • I downloaded this game because I was interested in building a town. I'm still amazed at the complexity of how this game lets you do that. Thousands of elements to design with. The game play has always been a fun bonus. I get nostalgic for the old events. Mostly squashing things and neighbor interactions. But, I'm still loving building a town, it's still my little zen place to escape for awhile.

Step away for a week or a month.
Make Nightmare Pile like Zombie Sandwich. All kids trick or treat at once.
  • Outside of events, I only check in twice a day. Sure, these events blur into each other now; but that kind of comes with the territory when you have a game lasting as long as this one, combined with the three plus decades of material that The Simpsons has accumulated.

I still enjoy playing, even though the shine has definitely lost it's luster over the years. I keep playing because I like The Simpsons and that I've played so long now, that I want to be here if the game gets pulled, or they stop updating it (probably will never happen). And to just sit here and chat with the people still kicking about, reminiscing about the good times, and singing American Pie when the game goes under.

"And good old boys are drinking whiskey and rye, saying, 'This'll be the day that I die.'"
Trying to control the horizontal & the vertical. Do not adjust your TV.

This was actually my second time through the game. My previous Springfield was maximum sized, with over 1000% bonus, maximum level, over 2000 blue houses and a huge closed-end monorail system. I blew it all up when it became apparent to me that there was nowhere to go and started again with a different user ID. I can't say the game was not, at its best, a pleasure to use and build. If EA ever decides to restore it to top priority could someone send me an email? I'd love to see it again in its prime!
  • I took a two-ish year break myself. The game was getting repetitive, no new land - no real challenges. Didn’t really care about the events and their prizes, so I just stopped playing. Recently came back after checking the message board and saw something about the new land in Springfield Heights. Yay! Started playing again maybe a month ago. I wasn’t planning on keeping up with events, just wanted more land so I could do a nuke and redesign. Still plan on doing that but gotta wait for the snow to go away.

Here! Here! I spend a lot of my downtime building, designing, redecorating….and I enjoy going to friends towns to see their designs, layouts and creativity.

I do miss squashing things and neighbour play.
