Are there any items gone forever?

Prev1
Hello folks, I had a curiosity about houses and buildings I've never seen except on other people's towns. I've looked and looked. Are there items that are just simply... GONE? like, forever? No longer available in any way? There are a bunch of things I can't search for because I can't check the names when I'm on other people's towns. On a related note, a kind of "tap-on" feature that reveals the name of the object would be so sweet!

Thank you in advance!

  • There's a few building from previous black friday events that still haven't return yet.
    Here have a banana!!
  • There's like a ton of buildings and extra-character houses I wanna get but I don't even know the names of them! 🥺

I can't really speak of "forever" but there are a handful of characters and some event-specific buildings that have never come back in the 6-7 years I've been playing. Some of them I'm pretty disappointed about .

I think the only things that might be "gone forever" are episode tie-ins. Things that are relevant to a moment in actual time.

Everything else is just things that haven't been rereleased yet. Play at least 10 more years and you might see everything again.
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!
  • The Fox Bot might never come back.
  • The only thing I'm missing is the Radioactive Homer that was available with a tray of donuts purchase during the Red Alert event this year. Didn't realise it was there so didn't get it. Most things have come around for a second pass so I'm hopeful that will too!
I don't think there's anything aside from episode tie ins that haven't come back at least once?

I've always used the "Select" and then "Sell" features to determine the name of an item in my Springfield. I hope that is what you meant by "reveals the name".
  • I missed Radioactive Homer, too! I'm so upset about that!!
  • Wouldn't some of those be in the yearbook?
  • So far the only Black Friday items that have returned in Mystery Boxes are The Lard Lad Donut Factory and the Costmo.
The items that still need to make a return are Monstromart, Shopping Cart Pile Up, VHS Village, Babies B This, Homerland bundle, The **** Tubery, Circuit Circus, Catfish Lake, Big & Tall Men's Shop, Ian's Car with Ian, Steamed Hams and Jackpot Realty.

With the two buildings that generate donuts rereleased the other 12 items can't be far behind for people who missed out on them.
They can't just have these once and never use them again.
  • I've been waiting years for Mayan Homer and Respectable Moe to make a return. With each event, black Friday and yearbook I hope, but am always disappointed
  • I want the North Pole monorail station…

Actually. I was referring to all the other things I don't have, things I see on other people's towns that I've never seen. Many of them have a sign or something saying what it is, but many don't. For example...

    What is this? Or perhaps

This looks kinda like a slum tenant building but I have no clue. And I want it! 😁

The top one is a Monsarno building from that event and the bottom one I believe was from one of the Superheroes events but I don't recall it's title

The red building was a secondary building from the Monsarno event. The slum tenant bldg was the primary stage for the first SuperHero event. These things may never return unless the event is somehow reprised, or a sequel.

  • @ShammysDad - the second one is Orphan Alley from Superheroes 2, 2016
Thought I'd got that from somewhere in my 2 year old second town but I might be mistaken 'cause I tried to find it and failed - oh well . . .

Aww crap. That's a shame. So when they're from an event, they don't eventually get put in the yearbook?
  • @ShammysDad - the Yearbook came out about 3 years or more ago and hasn't changed in all that time. Some stuff turns up as returning items in store or in Mystery boxes during events and there's usually a whole heap of older stuff for Black Friday so you might find you get them one day . . .
