I’m confused. I’ve hit the buckets in several neighbors towns. Nothing. I’ve waited an hour. Nothing. Does this crap ever work? I have every possible restaurant. I read every comment, but I don’t know what a “Bart Screen” or a counter is. I’m a longtime player, but this is beating me up.
A Bart screen is the screen that comes up with a picture of Bart holding a cable, captioned unable to connect to server, or similar.
Every item in the game that collects money or xp has a timer. If you click on a building it will tell you how long until the reward.
The issue here is the one hour timer resets if you go to friends, or leave the game. The one hour task to get grease never completes as the timer resets.
Its in the thread about collecting grease from neighbour visits. It doesn't work for you or neighbour, and going there resets the timers on the restaurants to one hour.
Unsolicited friends requests are all denied. Please PM me.
How do they let a bug like this happen and then go unfixed? This should have been play tested before rolling out. Need a fix or a complimentary bag of donuts to get them all skipped.

1. "Bart screen" is when game crashes and tells you to retry loading the game
2. Nothing to do in neighboring towns this event
3. You wait an hour and collect buckets in your own town. Dont accidentally reset the timer by starting the task more than once.
4. If you cannot collect 25 buckets to satisfy that task you should open a ticket and wait for a patch.
5. Counters are the numbers in the upper right corner of a dialog box that show how many items you've accrued thus far. We've had counters for every generated currency since ever. There are 2 counters in play for grease collection. They require either skyfinger (YOU) collection on the hour, or they require character task completion every 4hrs. For me, the self-collected buckets also counted toward the characters' collection total. Idk if everyone has this ability at the moment.
I was able to collect all 25 for that task, a well as continued to collect buckets that went toward the character-task-generated totals. I made sure not to accidentally reset the timer.
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!
@4junk3000 - there's two currencies, the usual character earnings and a separate currency for the ones from buildings in order for the requirement in part 2 to count what you tapped. As far as I can tell these are combined towards the prize target so it should be all good - fingers crossed . . .
For me, yes they combined and so I completed the character tasked collection earlier than expected

I kept my game open for an hour, all of the restaurants popped the grease buckets, and I completed the step. Not ideal by any means, but it works for those that can multitask and have the patience to do so.
To be clear what i did that worked:
Start task once.
Come back in 60m
Scroll around town to collect 25 buckets (or as many as your town has available.)
DON'T RESTART THE TASK UNTIL YOU COLLECT ALL BUCKETS AVAILABLE. Only restart task if you need more.
DON'T USE TASK TO JUMP TO THE COLLECTION POINT. It only restarts the timer.
I hope this helps someone!
*If you cannot do what i just described, you may need to wait for a patch update. I'm sorry.
If you've got a device you can ignore for an hour or so - fire up the game then hit the power button to send the device to sleep mode. The game keeps running as a background app and the timers keep counting. Bart won't strike while it sleeps, but might get you when you go to wake it up and tap !!
@fishingguy73 - I'll find out for sure in an hour ( hopefully ) - In one of my towns that happened after finishing part 2 and finding I had all the grease needed for part 3 too. I reckon the restaurants reset the timers as it was counting and collecting for part 2 and now that's done and I finally manage to collect this next batch of buckets I expect it'll revert to the usual IGC timers.
EDIT - Oh well. Woke my phone up and Bart struck. Now the timers are all back on the usual IGC so I'll go and put a heap of Gulp n Blows and KBs back into storage.
If it's anything like my B town I won't need any more grease, just those 4 hour Send . . . per prize to go - Wouldn't have minded that last 200+ to make sure though . . .

This restaurant was the only one working and it has just the regular timer on it now as do the rest of them
@fishingguy73 - Yeah, seems they were only for Part 2. Maybe you'd get one extra round if you got to tap them again as Part 3 started. After that they're all back to the regularly scheduled payout.
ME too. Nothing worked, and I could not get an hour without a Bart screen. My screensaver even reset it. Just ran 50 donuts and done. Really poor coding job on this event. Guess they never actually test anymore.

Fixed. Thanks to EA for working late on a Friday night so we can enjoy this silly little game. Sorry you had to cancel your hot date last night, EArl, but us gamers needed our grease.

This worked for me. Thank you 4junk!
