Priorities: land, items, design, other?

What do you prioritise? Trying to get every building/character (or levelling up/farming to get them as quickly as possible)? Expanding the size of your Springfield? Taking things slowly so that you have time and money to design and decorate everything?
Do you switch between priorities? Perhaps you started in one frame of mind, but you changed after playing the game for a long time? Perhaps you have more than one Springfield with different priorities in each.
I used to play many years ago, and I really put in the hours to get as many items as possible, especially when they were available for limited times. It became stressful, especially when I was reaching item limits (I think the limit was much smaller back then.)
Now I have started from scratch and I am really taking my time. I don't care if I miss out on things - I will never catch up with the long time players whose Springfields I admire when I visit them. Instead, I am decorating everything. I'm not cramming stuff in, but allowing lots of space for the things I would want in real life, like plenty of parking spaces :D

  • My priority is to just enjoy. I don't place any decoration that bothers me or looks out of proportion. I'm at the point where I can just make donuts, so I buy everything, but a lot goes into storage, months or years later I might find a place where those items fit.
Make Nightmare Pile like Zombie Sandwich. All kids trick or treat at once.

at first I designed on the fly. Every new building was integrated immediately.

Then I got to take advantage of a few bonus-building glitches, and realized that building bonus = best way to get more donuts.

Then we got the big land expansion update, and I began my major redesign of the whole town. Most new things went immediately to storage for a while as it was mayhem on the ground. It took about 2yrs to reorg to about a 90% complete grid.

That's when I focused on buying jet bikes and nukes. Now my bonus is over 4000%. I now have a donut balance over 6k. Im very happy to be pink-sprinkly-independent! :D

Since then, im about 95% completed grid. I am back to placing features as soon as they're acquired. I have "empty lots" reserved around town to add more buildings strategically.

Im also shoe-horning in some features, which is my new fun challenge. In the latest event, im squeezing in Fogburyport items and having a great time making innovative additions that wont ruin an existing design.

Still a very fun game for me daily, even though I leave most of my chars on completed, uncollected tasks so theyre animated for my visiting neighboreenos! I like to provide visitors a fun show.

    Thanks for asking! Happy tapping!
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!
  • When I first started playing I concentrated on getting game money to unlock land and buildings/characters, next I concentrated on building up my multiplier ( which wasn't easy back then) finally I moved on to the design side of the game, next came Springfield Heights as my main focus, these days I have more cash and donuts than I'll probably ever need so just play for the enjoyment of designing and redesigning my Springfield as new building become available ( oh and unlocking the land by Springfield Heights).

When I started, acquiring land was a big priority, mainly for areas to design and decorate, which is what I love most.

Regarding OP's mention of parking spaces, I find the Krustyland large lots the best. It taxes the item limit less and various car layouts can be changed by tapping the lot. When I started, I used loads of the normal parking spaces but now I try to only use the KL ones.

I just got a friend invitation from _mr_akic_47 and their Springfield is so neat. It is just what I want my new town to look like; fences around all the gardens, and plenty of parking!!!
Is there a way to message people who you are friends with to compliment their towns?

No there isnt. I wish more people participated here so we could e-meet our neighboreenos. You're welcome to send me a req if you like ample parking. Im a bit of a nerd about including spaces for businesses. I also dont like just laying roads around every single building. No town looks like that! Traffic would be awful! :D

  • I've always tried keep my town tidy, adding new things when they've been available. My main aim was to get all the ingame cash land available which I achieved about a year ago. Think I'm around 30 lands off from completing northward bound section.

I found having a lot of land available made it easier to design areas I wanted. It makes it easier to move certain parts around, making room for new content.

My main focus now is kem farming, My xp is about 430% and build around 50 at a time and in return I get 9 doughnuts evey 4 hours which isn't bad.

This has allowed me to take things slowly and I'm now in a position to purchase (with doughnuts) items that I wanted previously but could never afford.

I'd love to see other towns from people that participate on here, especially yours 4Junk3000.
Most of my neighbours have stuff everywhere and in no order.

  • Ditto @daddyscowy, if you have room I’ll be happy to fill one of your friend slots - I’ve been meaning to turn my friends list into a list of many of the regulars here but just haven’t hit round to it.
  • Nice one. I added both of you.

If anyone wants to be added just let me know.

Thanks for the invite. I like how you’ve gone about designing everything. Your church cemetery is great 😂

  • I did too! Actually I added 5 new neighboreenos yesterday and toured all the towns. I saw some really great designs! I must stop in again and see if there's anything innovative I may be able to bring to my town too. I'm more of an "overall layout" fanatic so I love seeing themed areas that are cleverly organized. Really fun adding new neighbors lately, which is why im a bit quicker than most to rotate out the "dead wood"
