Do you have seasonal, switchable areas?

I wonder if anyone else does what I do. I have two areas that I use specifically to switch out seasonal themes. I have a small town square like area in my Evergreen Terrace and a larger area across the street from my main shopping district. Both of which I add and remove seasonal items. Thanksgiving, Halloween, Valentines day, Christmas. I might make those areas into an outdoor Summer fair, festival, etc. Anyone else? I've done this since the beginning on the game.

  • That’s a great idea. I often think how weird it is that my SF has a year-round Christmas/winter themed area the size of Krustyland.

When I did my semi-nuke-full-town-rebuild, I made my Town Square twice as large, for this very purpose. So I switch out seasonal and themed events here. p3d71ae678e1.png

This year’s t-day didn’t have much holiday themed stuff so I brought out Lisa’s peace fest with the Flanders’s48hy51e8sbl9.jpeg

This was last year’s winter themed event at my square. I set up the sled race here.49d0gw05s52m.png
I’m really looking forward to the snow falling again soon!

All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!
  • Yes, this is what I do, too. Looks very nice and festive, 4junk3000.

  • That’s a good idea. Might have to think about doing something like that.
  • This is a good idea. I might to start doing this
  • While I do decorate my Springfield (primarily Christmas lights), I built a Christmas town over on the new frontier. That's where all the holiday themed buildings go now, as well as the holiday characters.

  • I used to, but I have a holiday themed area in between the North Pole/Russia area and the Outer Space/Heaven & Hell domains.
  • I dont really have area's I just always prepare my town for the winter landscape which I love. I put up more X Mas trees, decorations etc. I also switch houses to the X Mas look so it all fits better with the landscape. I did also put the "snow" buildings in my river so that when it freezes it will look nicely as someone built them on the frozen river.
  • I've considered doing this, but since my Halloween and Christmas areas are among my favorite parts of my town, I leave them out all year. Plus it's more work than I'm willing to do haha.

I have an entire THOH island that stays put. I just like to decorate little town square areas to make them seasonal like how shopping centers do, etc.

Yeah me too! I have a huge Christmas Village, as ive been to a few older, somewhat "krusty" tourist traps in northern US states as a kid, so I remember them fondly. I add new Christmas stuff to it every year, once I close out my seasonal display in the Square.

Some of these Christmas tasks are great, especially Willie’s!

I also have a huge graveyard, a large Hogwart-style campus; Humbleton the haunted Victorian village, and Pagan Festival that is on display year-round for THOH seasonal items. I do want as many as possible unique features on the ground in my town.

But for Valentine's, St. Patrick's, Easter, Independence Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas; I decorate the Town Square and the Courthouse facing it. I've had these seasonal decorating duties in past careers so this is a fun way to re-experience that. I liked being the guy who set up dozens of christmas trees at the office. It made most people happier

  • The seasonal theme for my Town Square is forming. Looks like Santa is moving someone from the "good" to the "naughty"list! :D7ebm619f3vdb.jpeg
